Very pleased Hotel Diana offers parking, and proximity to Lady Cilento. Nearby restaurant (Bens Chinese is excellent), Newsagent, Fish & Chips (also excellent) and walk to Steak House (excellent) and other dining experiences. Every meal is eat out. We did enjoy breakfast at the Hotel one morning only. Had early starts visiting family. We were there visiting a sick little boy, and to come "home" to Hotel Diana is very pleasing and handy. Thanks for everything. We'll be back.

Stayed for work last weekend, the experience was excellent. Great room, clean and very well presented. The location was very handy to everything. Will be staying here again for sure.

Renovated rooms, good cleanliness, convenient area to see the city. Staff were very friendly and very professional: they immediately sent some forgotten clothes to another hotel in Sydney simply by writing them an email. Maximum efficiency!

Great location if you need to stay near Mater Hospital or the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospitals. 5 minute easy walk. Easy access for wheel chairs however inside access to the dining room entails several stairs. The staff were friendly and helpful. The too

The Brisbane area has improved reparkably since 2006 when I visited last. The outdoor activities and riverwalk areas were spectacular. The Hotel Diana was a lovely location to have our stay centered. The room was lovely.

This best western is a great place to stay. It has an appealing entrance but the elevator is a bit of a worry. It works but not as u would like. The rooms are great, warm and cozy. The beds are comfy. The showers are nice I was happy with it although the water could have been hotter I like my showers very hot.

Awesome hotel. I've been there for one night and the room is splendid. The staffs are nice and the breakfast is terrific. You have also access on the terrace with the pool and fountain. Amazing day for though. I recon this hotel for those with low budget expecting high level of life style.

Great place to stay, lots of eats & drinks close by, short stroll to Southbank or the Gabba. Staff where amazing, so helpful. Very clean & had everything I needed for my 6 day stay. A little bit of noise during the day with ground floor Reno’s but nothing to deter visiting. I will be back.

Great location. Staff were super helpful and friendly and let me store my bags after check out. No day spa at the moment but I’m sure it will be back soon. I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in Brisbane.

They have been amazing and accommodating our needs with our daughter having to go to Lady Cilento Childrens Hospital on a regular basis. In house restaurant would be great but having so many amazing restaurants literally just outside the door overcome that. Amazing staff amazing service! We will most definitely be back.

Beautiful hotel, comfortable rooms and beds, spacious showers, wonderful friendly staff, and so handy to the hospitals in South Brisbane. Buffet breakfast was delicious. It has a 24hr reception. Highly recommended.

Happy discovery of this lovely little place with real French cuisine. I had Coquille St Jacques and Mousse au Chocolat. Yum. Sorry, forgot to photograph it. Too busy enjoying eating it.

The venue and facilities were good. Easy checkin and checkout with a warm and friendly greeting at checkin. The room was clean and all room facilities were modern and up to date. Was conveniently and centrally located. Was very close to and within easy walking distance to the City, local shopping, Southbank precinct, as well as hospitals. Great value, great location, and would absolutely stay again.

Reception was great. Nice clean rooms. Open parking for vehicles. Excellent location. Booking and check-in was easy and quick. House keeping left a bit to be desired. Not topping up consumables as necessary. I guess they had different teams on housekeeping as during my 9 day stay this occured 3 times. Just feel we have paid for the consumables and it should be topped up accordingly during the room service.

Have stayed here several times and will be back. Rooms are great for overnight stay. Furnishings well kept. Front staff just lovely. Location is very handy with multiple small restaurants, bakery, liquor store, etc. Right next door. Just a short taxi trip for $11 to the heart of the city. Looking forward to our next o'night city get away.

On both occasions that I have stayed at this hotel it was a great experience. Reception staff are always lovely and the buffet breakfast is a welcome sight. The food is of great quality with a wide selection. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Bathrooms are very modern, the highlight is the water pressure. Aircon is pleasant. Housekeeping staff are respectful and prompt. Thank you so much to all the staff for running a tight ship.

Relaxing experience, would go back for sure. If your visiting the spa remember to bring your own products.

We stayed here as our son had surgery at a hospital near by. The hotel was lovely. Clean, good sized rooms, everything we needed close by. One issue is the parking. The parking is free and meant for hotel guests only, but people using the local restaurants will gladly park in the hotel's car parks, squeezing hotel guests out. Do not expect to find a park around dinner time.

Great location, reasonably priced, quick service and off street parking is available if you can get it. Fixtures and some things are a bit worn even though it looks like it underwent recent renovation, the elevator felt like it was about to breakdown every time you use it, never felt so much shuddering in my life. Overall a great option that still keeps you close to the city and not as costly as most.

Note for Googlers: Best Western only took over this property within the last year and this location still contains reviews from the hotel owners before it so the low star rating is not accurate. The newly renovated Best Western Plus Hotel Diana provides a pretty much perfect hotel experience for guests. It is located really close to Southbank for anyone wanting to simply just walk to it or Queen street for the day. You are provided free parking for the duration of your stay and the carpark is located behind the hotel in a semi secure area. The hotel is also located in a small plaza like area with a great variety of Asian restaurants right out the front door! (Including Korean BBQ, Sushi Train, Vietnamese/Chinese and a convenience store) On to the hotel itself. The check in staff member when we arrived was really professional and friendly and answered all the questions we had about the hotel which is a great show of hotel knowledge. The rooms have really spacious and modern looking bathrooms all since this hotel is new. The rooms themselves are once again spacious, have comfortable beds and contain really good TV's with a great selection of Free and Paid Channels. The only complaint I would have is that the elevator is a bit slow for a 2 story hotel however this is due to them not being changed after best western took over the location. However this is not a big issue at all.

Friendly helpful staff and 24 hour desk. Good variety of local shops, cafes and restaurants cater to most needs. Walk to South Bank, Mater Hospital, The Gabba and CBD. Free parking, uncovered.

Location was perfect for business. Short distance to Southbank for eating out and entertainment, handy to airport etc. Clean and tidy will stay again.

During my stay over the last few days … was so relaxing, with friendly helpful staff, lovely people … made me feel welcome :) I'll be back down next month … so handy for hospital appointments, walking distance to South bank and restaurants … love it :) Enjoy your evening!

Definilty 5 star service, very friendly & helpful staff, ideally located near the Mater Hospital & made our visit awhole lot easier with being next door to a few different restaurants & supermarket is great as well.

Nice hotel. Free hotel parking, but you'll probably find patrons of princess plaza utilising the hotel parking spots and there is no real street parking in the vacinity. Otherwise rooms are pleasant and modern.

Good hotel and value for money. 10 minutes from southbank and river. Friendly staff and good amenities. The shower is great. Beds a little firm as some people have commented. Internet worked ok for me and it is free. 4.5 stars.

Beautiful room, comfy bed, short walk to Southbank, great staff. Only downside was the view from our room but not an issue when you are 5 minutes from the river. Would definitely stay here again.

When things were looking bad for us the Best Western Diana was an oasis in the desert. Excellent staff and service … Particularly Danny who went above and beyond during a very stressful time for us. Cheers Lizzie and Pete.

Modern suites and bathrooms. Upscale showers. Beds are hard. Free but slow internet. Good selection of TV channels but guide does not work on most. TV picture is cropped and stretched even after adjustment. Staff are friendly. Nice and close to downtown and lots of restaurants.

Nice clean room. Great location. Front desk staff very helpful. Price was good for one night — got a room for $100 with free on site parking which is a bonus for inner city location. There was a conference happening the weekend I stayed but no noise from them. Would stay again. Only downside, wish there was a DVD player in the room.

For the most part our stay was reasonable, but it is my belief the elevators require maintenance, as they made many unpleasant and worrying noises. Also the $14 breakfast was rather lackluster for its cost.

Great central location to the Marter and Lady Cilento Childrens Hospital. Short walk to Southbank and over the bridge to the city. Clean rooms and close to restaurants and cafe. The only downside for us was no pool for the children. I however enjoyed the sauna at Apollo.

The photos sure do a good job of getting people in, but then the actual visit is a bit disappointing. The room is outdated and dirty (try pressure washing the bathrooms once in a while to lift up stubborn grime and dirt), bathroom power points were mostly broken (meaning there isn't much quality control – someone should be testing these things at least once a fortnight) and it was overall just. Meh. I guess that's to be expected for under $200 a night in Brisbane near the CBD. Probably would try to find another place to stay in next time. Also should really replace those elevator buttons. It probably wouldn't cost too much and would make the hotel feel less budget. The lobby is really classy though!

I stay my with frend 2 nights was not good, bicause no window the air conditioner all times raning and noise, and no fresh air. Very expensive, some hotel give free breakfast. Never again coming this hotel.

The free parking and proximity to the city make this a great option if you're catching a show in the city or have to be close to the Mater/PA hospitals. The person who created this hotel dreamed big 20 years ago and the baby grand piano and unstaffed bar in the 'breakfast dining room' bears testament to somewhat more sophisticated times. The full buffet breakfast for $12 was great. I would recommend it, way nicer than your typical motel and the 7-11 in the shopping strip adjacent makes it very convenient.

I have stayed multiple times over the years and the standard did slip but now I have just had the best experience, staff soo friendly and willing to go the extra mile. Price was perfect. I agree with all the other reviews but it seems that management has listened because they have defiantly improved for the better in the last few months. Not only would I stay again I would recommend to others.

To be honest this is not a 4 star hotel. More like a 2 star. It definitely is in need of a refurbishment. There is no longer a restaurant or bar for guests (only for functions) and the only meal is breakfast which is $$$ for what you get. The room is pretty basic but clean but you do get a bit of road noise. On the positive side, the staff are very friendly and there is always a place to park the car.

As others have posted. Hotel seems a bit run down and beds average. Wouldn't put it in four star category compared to other places. Air cond and showers seem ok. In a good location though. Ask for top floor to avoid any traffic noise etc.

The worst stay we have ever had in our life. The Hotel is NOT 4 star but close to 2 star. The property is very run down and needs major repairs ASAP. There were holes in wall which were covered by sticky tape. The floors have not been cleaned in years. The elevator was dirty and smelled. The floors were uneven and patched up which made it difficult to walk around without dripping over something. The people who own the building live onsite and had their children run through the hotel corridor in the middle of the night. The facilities on site were closed due to being run down. There was no site gym as advertised. The parking was not sufficient or safe. I would say that the Hotel is a health and safety risk and need major repairs to get it up to code. DO NOT STAY HERE if you do you will be disappointed.

My daughter and I had a terrible stay. We were woken at midnight by a bus load of super noisy tourists checking in. Kids running around yelling etc. Then again at 1am with someone vacuuming outside our room. The beds were SO hard, with loose springs etc. I couldn't turn the aircon off, so almost died of heat exhaustion. The shower was an obstacle course. Had to climb into the deep spa, then there was no shower curtain. I was so please when the lovely man at reception offered to give me a free Wi-Fi card, after agreeing that it's crazy these days to charge for it. Only to find out that I WAS actually charged for it. All in all. I would not return or recommend.

This hotel is far more suited to a 3 star, not the 4.5 star they have rated it. We had a most unpleasant stay. The beds were terrible, hard as cement. We changed rooms once to try to get a better bed, to no avail. We made our complaint to the assistant manager, who mucked us around and eventually said that he went and layed on the bed himself and said it was fine. He layed on it. Not tried to sleep on it! We had a rough sleepless night, and were very sore for days afterwards. My back went out, and I needed therapy for it after our stay. There was no reimbursement. The best they could offer, only after not letting up on the communication, was a 30% off overnight stay with a comfortable bed organized. Utter rubbish. One does not book a hotel and pay for it to then be given a very old bed that should be put to the dump. Are we expected to poke them for a good bed? Not good enough! We are now going to try and get our money back through other avenues. Honestly folks, do NOT stay here! Not only were the beds hard and very uncomfortable, the décor was very outdated, the bathroom was not cleaned well, and the treatment via management was less than poor. It should be shut down until they can actually offer what they are saying they can.

Very disappointed with this establishment, recently stayed here (May 31 — June 1st 2013) only to be awoken at 4am and again at 5am by faulty smoke alarms resulting in total evacuation of the premises. Neither management nor staff had anything to say after checkout, no apologies for inconvenience, acted as though nothing happened. Not recommended at all.
