Didn’t have the best experience at the Atherton Hotel. We waited for over an hour for our meals and the salad was basically just a cabbage salad bag from Woolies. Once we had eaten, 3 out of the 5 of us had to go to the toilet as we were extremely sick in the stomach. We did find the staff very friendly but sadly we will not be going back.

Dreadful food. Poorly cooked, salad was basically cabbage mix from a bag. Steak was very badly overcooked. Dianne sauce was gravy! Disappointed.

We loved our overnight stay in this hotel. This was a last minute booking for us and the hotel staff were very accommodating. The room was clean, tidy and just what we needed. The room was perfect for 2 people; likely a little small for a family with kids. The restaurant was clean and quiet. Well spaced for social distancing. The staff were super lovely and we really enjoyed chatting with them. The food was divine! We would stay here again and recommend them to others. In town location and very central.

Great check in. Friendly and helpful. The room is large with a nice balcony looking over the town. Everything is here, couldn’t ask for more.

We had a nice rib eye steak with mashed potatoes & vegies + the toppings (prawn in garlic sauce).

Ordered the pork belly. Couldn’t eat it. So tough and the coleslaw was dry as was the rosemary potatoes which didn’t have rosemary on them. Worst meal we’ve had in Atherton.

Rob and Carolyn are great hots and go above and beyond for their guests.

Great place friendly staff if you need anything the owner there will accommodate you with what you need.

Have stayed twice. Room was dated (retro? ) but clean and quiet. Bed was comfy and I had a good nighy sleep. Breakfast I had was excellent and service friendly.

Excellent service from staff and a good clean room. A few nice food options around and the location is handy to the highway. Perfect place to stop at the top of the range.

Very good location. Friendly staff. Homey place kids have so much fun.

Needs a paint and spruce up, you don't get a clean feeling.

Average country motel. Cleanliness average, bathroom had mould and toilet was stained but otherwise a comfortable stay.

We haven't eaten at the Stump for ages … But after last nights meal, we will definitely be back there again! Every meal we ordered (10 of them! ) was spot on. The steak cooked perfectly and the garlic sauce was so yum.

Great place at a great price and location. Only downside is that it is showing it's age.

This hotel is fantastic. The rooms are very very clean. Staff is very friendly. There are many accommodations right here, sports bar, billiards, slots and other shops right near by. If you are an astronomer this is definitely a place to be since viewing the stars just north of Atherton is very clear. Great place.

It is a typical basic motel. Not fancy in any way and accordingly inexpensive. We came too late for dinner but heard people raving about it. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and if you are after a basic inexpensive place to stay for the night, this is a good one.

Separate bistro was good. Reasonable menu and your usual range of drinks. Service was friendly and the wait times short (midweek).

Held our Mother's 80th Birthday celebration in the function room last night. It was absolutely fantastic. Food was plentiful and delicious everyone was impressed with the buffet. All the staff were so helpful. Thank you all … we will recommend you where ever we can… Cheers.

We just loved the service! I especially loved the restaurant and food, staff made us welcome at all times and food was beautiful. The room was underpriced, very clean and very large with spa! Will be recommending to everyone. Really loved the relaxed atmosphere!

Pub at front looks dodge. The rooms are grest. The food is of quality and great value. Highly recommend.

We ate here for lunch on the way through and the food was just amazing. The steak was cooked to perfection, the sauces were just fantastic, and there was even some kind of voodoo magic spice on the chips that was phenomenal. To top it all of the wait staff were friendly and chatty too. If I'm ever back in Far North Queensland again, I would go out of my way to go here again.

There was a good selection of meals on the menu, all well priced and tasted great. The meal ordering process aas pretty slow though, took a long time for the staff to enter the information into the computer, and my meal choice wasn't even in the computer at all. The venue was nice and the staff were friendly, but so young, and thus a little immature. Overall, once the staff sort out the computer, it'll probably be a good place to grab an aussie meal.
