The Cambridge has been one of my favorite hotels in Sydney for over 15 years, and is a great place to stay, so long as you don’t go for the cheap rooms. I was staying with the kids for two nights and wanted to cut costs so took a un-renovated room near the pool. At first I thought it was great as the room had an extra bed, then 5:45am hit and we were all awoken by deafening plumbing noises from behind the wall. Not sure whether our room backed onto a cleaners facility but it happened both mornings and left me in a foul mood. Only posting here because no-one actually bothered to ask me how my stay was on checkout. And if they tell you your stay comes with the unlimited Wi-Fi, don’t believe them, it’s a trap. We were stung $20 for Wi-Fi despite following the advice of the check-in guy. As a formerly loyal customer I was pretty disappointed.

Love this hotel, location is hard to beat, staff are great.

I would highly recommend the Cambridge Hotel, we stayed Sunday night this is the second time we have stayed at this hotel, the hotel was neat and tidy, the rooms was bright and the beds very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming, we had breakfast in the restaurant and it had a great choice of hot and cold food, and having parking at a reasonable price was a big plus. It's also walking distance to darling harbour and cockle bay.

Worst stay ever! We stayed here for one week over New Year’s Eve. We have booked a standard room and get a very small room with a window you can’t look out and can’t open. The room has had two single beds. After we entered the room I went immediately to the reception and wanted to change the room. A better room was 200 AUD$ more for our stay. We have paid so much for that bad room and we don’t want to pay one dollar more for that terrible hotel. During our stay we saw a few cockroaches in our room. We can’t sleep long because a swimming pool was next to our room. We told everything the manager but there was no goodwill. The breakfast was included and we ate everyday the same because there was only cereal and toast. So the breakfast was also a flop. It’s so sad that the hotel don’t cares about the satisfaction of the customers. We can’t recommend the hotel and we will never come again.

We stayed over night here and would like to say how fantastic the staff were! We booked here because it was one of the few places that had parking that wasn’t over the top expensive (although the car park is narrow and extremely small) we arrived from our travels to be greeted by friendly reception who explained how to get to parking and our room.
We got lost going to the room and a cleaner helped us and took us all the way to our room out of her own time!
The rooms were sizeable and our shower was amazing! The linen was all clean and fresh, the soaps and things smelt amazing. We got free wine on arrival for booking direct, (it wasn’t very nice but hey it was free! ) and on checkout we got a bar of chocolate with my name on it which I thought was impressive
The breakfast was great! $20 for all you can eat breakfast! I pay more for an eggs benny where we come from and there was no hassle to find somewhere to eat for people who don’t come from Sydney. I would definitely stay again here. It was great! Thanks for the enjoyable stay!

The hotel itself is good and I have stayed here numerous times over the years. But the breakfast goes from bad to worse each stay, and this time it was really bad. It's not a cheap breakfast and yet there is no fresh fruit, there were no eggs ready at the one breakfast session, there is no hot option besides eggs and tomatoes for guests who don't eat meat/bacon (no hashbrowns, no mushrooms), the pastry selection is poor, the coffee is awful. I'm really not one to complain but this time it was too bad to ignore!
I also had a lunch booked as part of a conference package and being a vegetarian there was no lunch option provided for me — I was told to eat the salads (rocket and lettuce leaves! ) and from the cheese platter… everyone else had a pasta dish — I wasn't impressed!
