This is a perfect place to stay if you have loved ones in the Royal North Shore Hospital. The Staff are very helpful, It has parking, it’s clean and tidy, a great little restaurant on the ground floor that covers all your needs, breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s just a convenient 5 minute walk up the rd to the hospital. Will definitely stay here again.

I had 2 family members needing surgery at RNS this year. Both times I stayed at this wonderful hotel for weeks and it became my home away from home. The staff were amazing. Highly recommend Hotel Urban ❤️

I stay here for work and also choose to come here personally as the service is fantastic — my home away from home. I would definitely recommend the Urban as a reasonable alternative to the CBD. There are also some fantastic restaurants close by or you won’t be disappointed with the in-house Sure Cafe.

Great room, amazing bed, pillow and linen. The food both for dinner and breakfast is terrible and overpriced for what is given and in my view needs to be avoided. Room cleanliness is excellent however a few cockroaches were found in the bathroom.

Excellent hotel. Clean rooms, great beds, fluffy pillows, secure parking, great Cafe, friendly staff, public buses practically to the door so you can leave the car and head on into the city. Will definitely stay again.

Was recommended this hotel for a short work trip — small and basic rooms but all the expected amenities are there, was clean and excellent value for money. Great service and everyone was super efficient. Superb choice for work related travel, especially if your commitments are located in the same area.

Nice hotel that is close to Royal North Shore Hospital. Very friendly staff to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. The ground floor has disabled friendly rooms with plenty of room, and shower stools. Even the basin is at wheelchair height. Favourite part — the crunchy granola for lunch. All round pleasant experience.

We stayed to attend vivid. And def not dissapointed. Room was sensational, comfortable and spacious. Friendly staff, nothing at all to complain about. 10 min walk to station. Resturant staff friendly.

This was the first time I stayed at Hotel Urban. Like most people travelling alone I booked the cheapest room for 1 person. By Sydney standards I got what I paid for. The room faced the main road and traffic noise was awful. Next door neighbours' showers vibrated the walls and the walls were so thin you could hear everything. It was clean but too small. The 1 star rating that everyone gave would be the rating I give for the cheapest rooms in the hotel. I stayed in that room for 1 hour before I asked reception to put me in the biggest suite in the house with the best view of Sydney and a sprawling balcony. I paid an upgraded price and for 5 nights enjoyed every bit of my stay there including the food at the restaurant which was delicious! Instead of putting up with rubbish I made the decision to pay more for one of the best rooms in the house because I know I was not going to get a refund. Thanks to Jamie at front desk who sorted it all out for me. My overall experience at Urban after the upgrade is hands down 5 stars.

Fantastic place to stay. The people could not have been more helpful. We even got upgrades as the heater in the first room would not reverse cycle to hot. I especially like the safe in the room to put my laptop and valuables in with setting you own lock code. The Hotel transport took me down to the RNS Hospital each morning which was great as I didn't have to use my car.

Decent place with nice staff. Do yourself a favor and book the harbor view. You probably won't be able to see the harbor but you won't open out onto Pacific highway.

Fantastic! Rooms are great, staff are always very friendly and attentive. Handly location, city centre is 10-15mins by bus. Food (especially the breakfast) is delicious! Would definitely stay again.

Love this hotel, only a few stops on the train to the city. Have stayed here about 4 times. Love the ethical products. Only stay when there's a deal with free parking. This time there was also a basic breakfast included. There was 4 kinds of cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, stewed fruit, toast, pastries and juice. Pretty good. I do love the king beds too. And this time we had bub with us, portacot was all set up on arrival with extra towels and amenities. Only niggle was the website wouldn't allow for booking with an infant even though you clearly can so we had to call the hotel to book. And the front desk didn't realise initially that our 'deal' included parking but no dramas. Nice and quite place, I don’t understand peoples complaints about street noise, I've never noticed it.

Your bright, lively hotel was a pleasure to stay in. The room had more floorspace than I expected for the price, and I particularly appreciated the *soft* mattress — so rare in hotels at every level of Star. The bathroom was minimal but sparklingly clean, and the fact that the USB-capable TV accepted our external device without any difficulty or additional steps — which is a precious novelty, with hotel-room entertainment systems — was *very* much appreciated, especially given that my two day stay was to recover from a major procedure at the day hospital, before traveling back to Canberra, and so all I was capable of for those two days was lying in the (again, *so* blessedly soft! ) bed and watching digital entertainment that I had brought with me, in the company of my physical-support person. The hyper-casual cafe in your airy lobby was a high point; the upholstered benches for extra comfort were very appreciated, and the tuna-steak nicioise I had was gorgeous. Your proximity to the day hospital was wonderfully convenient; an orderly literally brought me over in a wheelchair after my discharge, deposited me in my room and then walked back! Even among hospital-partnered accommodations, that's above and beyond the standard for user-friendliness.

Went in and asked can I use internet as mine was off. Staff friendly and helpful. Will differently go back and eat at cafe.

With comfortable rooms n great staff to assist guests with there stay at the urban. Close to most amenities n transport at the door. I enjoyed my 2 stays at the urban.

Great place to stay if you need to be on that side of town. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Service in the restaurant isn't great though.

Pretty basic. Beds dont have brakes on them so they go all over the place when u try to sit or lean on them. Oldest TV I have seen in a long time. Amazing toiletries best range biology love it. Average food and service in the sure cafe.

I frequently travel for work and stay at hotels but this time at this particular place was just a big disappointment to say the least. Upon entering my room after check-in I find no soap, I ask the reception for some soap so I can wash my face and the response I got was as follows: “We have been without soap for 3 weeks and are trying to do the best we can, why don’t you use the shampoo to wash your face. ” I wish it ended there but no, there were a few other surprises in store:”. Embarrassed to ask for something else lest I get told off again, I spend the night without washing my face after a long day. In the room I notice oil stains on both bedside tables, I clean one side with tissue paper so I can place my phone without it getting dirty. In the bathroom I notice that the washbasin is leaking and there is a small puddle accumulating on the floor each time I open the tap, I had to let reception know twice about this for them to fix it. The shower floor is not very clean either. Then after having a very average breakfast the next morning at the cafe on ground floor I went to the reception to ask for soap again so I can shower and go to work. I get 1 small bar of soap after about 20 minutes. Hope I don’t have to stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay here! Large pleasant clean room with large double glass doors opening out on to a lovely courtyard. So handy to go to their restaurant area, a really versatile venue. Wonderful friendly staff. Straight across the road from Northshore hospital and the TAFE.

Great location, rooms were well furnished and properly cleaned, impeccable service which could account for guests needs at a press of a button. Overall great hotel I would visit again and recommend.

Room is good. A little Noisy. But the service was absolutely disgraceful. When I went to check in I was not greeted or even a hello. The older man said "name". I went to explain my situation as I was unsure what name due to being here for corporate work. He then asked me again in a hostile manner. You sir are an absolute pig. You brought me to tears as soon as I got in my room. You literally treated me like scum. You have next to no customer service skills : (

Clean, quiet, comfortable and close to the city. Wouldn't mind a greater selection of teas, of the herbal variety. Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for a weekcwhile training for work. The facilities (Gym, Bar, restaurant) along with the rooms (large and spacious with a comfortable bed) were fantastic. I can highly recommend it!

I cannot get enough of the fantastic food at the restaurant here… service is also wonderful but the FOOD… mushroom filo a must have… chef Neel 10stars.

Much quieter than I expected! The bed is really comfortable, and the complimentary toiletries smell divine. Room service dinner was pretty good, and well priced. Happy with $20 for parking too. I'd recommend staying here if you need a room in North Sydney.

Never ever ever want to stay there ever again, food was nice, room was not. Barely slept with bad noise levels of road traffic all night. Tv wasn't working either and phoned reception to complain and was fobbed off. Left feedback note about being unhappy and was embarrassingly bailed up coming out of full days conference and to be told in front of others that I must be a light sleeper and I had top floor? (Only four floors anyways so not high enough to escape road noise! ) Pays not to leave feedback about noisy road at hotel room as they ambush you when coming out of the conference. Had the hide to tell me I must be a light sleeper. Too tired to deal with idiots… never again.

Not at all happy. Noisy busy road traffic noise in the room and I'm on the top floor! Not at all relaxing! Also TV channels… ALL of them are of poor visual quality and when I rung reception they told me a complaint was put in yesterday and could be fixed tomorrow! And they charge FULL room fee for this? Told her I wasn't happy and she only said sorry! I won't be here tomorrow. Nor will I want to come back nor recommend them… very crappy hotel. Bathroom is so tiny your knees almost touch the sink in front of you when on the toilet and there is NO room to move in the bathroom. Couldn't adjust the shower head so I felt sorry for anyone shorter as the water was directed very high. One saving grace is that the room is warm and the bed is big though a little hard.

Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about either. The room was pretty much as you'd expect in terms of sized and appointment. Perhaps slightly cramped, as the armchair made it difficult to open the wardrobe. The TV was a little small. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The rooms at the back have balconies (or at least some of them do. ) Traffic noise might be an issue if you get a room at the front. We had a room at the side, which had some traffic noise but not excessive. The bathroom didn't have a great deal of bench space, but the shower had plenty of pressure and hot water aplenty. The staff were courteous, and efficient. Parking is undercover (at extra cost. ) The hotel's position on the highway makes it a little awkward to get into from the North, or head South out of, if heading into the city. Overall, no complaints, and decent for the price.

Fine for a work trip, but not a destination hotel so to speak. Nice, clean, the rooms are a decent size and the staff are lovely. Would definitely recommend.

No lights on the ceiling. All lights are desk lamps. One light on wall in entrance. Food is really good but the service is very slow. I ate entree and mains over an hour period but could only get one drink in that time. Sat down for breakfast and was served quickly and took my drink order. Waited 10 minutes and still no drink so walked out and went back to my room.

The room was very clean, modern and very comfortable. Their food was excellent and I had no problems with the service.

I am in this hotel now and its 3AM, apparently the plumbing system is connected and anyone who takes a shower or uses toilet you hear a sharp annoying noise which wont let you sleep for even 5 minutes, this is the worst experience I've had with a hotel, I have an exam tomorrow and I booked this room to have a relaxed sleep. Tried to call the receptionist a couple of times the phone line is busy, went downstairs there was no one there, now here I am, I preferred to pay twice this price but can pass my 2000$ exam and not waste my money on this.

Great for short business stays. Room artificial lighting not great but not an issue during the day with natural light. Did not have a chance to use the amenities. Generally nice staff all around.

Great hotel. We normally stay in the cbd but decided to try somewhere new this time as accommodation seemed to be ridiculously expensive on the night we wanted. The other thing that attracted us was not having to pay a crazy amount for parking overnight (it's normally around $60). We were really impressed by our stay — the whole experience was stress free. There was only one very minor issue with a bedsheet, but it was resolved really quickly and easily (the staff member who took our query came and sorted it out himself within 5 mins). We decided to drive into town to see the show which worked out well as we found a cheap park right opposite the theatre. It took us about 10 mins to get there from the hotel The rooms are very clean and comfortable + have great climate control. I've seen people complain about the rooms being near the Pacific highway, but didn't hear a thing all night. There's a nice cafe downstairs too from which you can order room service, have brekky etc. The coffee is good, the food tasty and the staff are friendly. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Really great friendly service, comfy beds and great for a tasty quick meal. Breakfast was fabulous, freash juices including veggie juice. we stay here regularly and is a good experience every time. Highly recommend this place.

My favourite place to stay in St Leonards. Clean and comfortable.

Working with the Hotel Urban St. Leonards staff was an incredible and easy experience. I come from an industry of customer experience and working with them through the phone and e-mail to schedule workshops that required hotel rooms and a conference room was fantastic. The rooms were both well maintained and staff was great! I highly recommend this service and establishment.
