The staff was incredibly helpful! Scott wasn't even our waiter, but he helped us with the bus line and paid for our fare when our cash was too large to break, and it was too late at night and we were too exhausted to ride back to Sydney. This restaurant made us feel like we were very welcome in a foreign country and on our first day here. Thank you Scott for helping us out so much!

The place where it is located is second to none. Very beautiful and romantic place but the food prices are over the board. It's way, way too much. If this could be looked into there will be a larger number of customer turnouts which means larger volumes of revenue intake and at the same time not depriving of the customer satisfactions.

We went to the restaurant for dinner. Beautiful setting to watch the sunset over the water. Food was great, service was nice but the cocktails were a little disappointing, however the waiter noticed that one of us did not like it and didn't charge for that cocktail. The 3 course set is good value, and the oysters were nice and fresh. We would definitely come back.

Ordered seasonal seafood dish, Horrible. The small fish was not edible at all. Not worth the price. Waitress added $12 as tip on the Albert EFPOS machine without our consent.

Great service, friendly staff. Good food. My mum really enjoyed the steak. I had prawns. I thought they were good. The mocktails were just what we needed on this hot day.

Actually a B&B but has a restaurant, bar on the ground floor. Probably the only bar in the area, but quite nice.

Came here for a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch. Staff were very friendly but service could be a little haphazard. Food was tasty but it is quite expensive. You do pay for the view which is lovely.

Arrived for a light lunch after palm beach, felt like we were being ignored while waiting to be seated and after being served service was slow and felt unwelcome. Ate the flat head fish and chips and oysters. The food was good but I wouldn't go back as it was wholly unwelcoming.

I won’t be going back there anytime soon. We arrived near to 2pm on a Sunday. There were 2 Of us and was told the “last” table had been given out! So we were like the “beggars “ who had to sit outside where the menu is different as it’s for “beggars”. The fish and chips were disappointing as the fish looked rather brown like the oil had been used over and over. The chips were soggy. The calamari tasted weird! So we didn’t finish it. The only thing to cheer us up were the beer on tap! Another couple arrived later than us but we were given a table inside! So can you imagine how we felt?

Just the perfect spot for a lazy weekend. Great food, brilliant and attentive staff and reasonable value for money. We had the seafood starter, eye fillet, coq au vin and chocolate pudding / creme brûlée. People watch with a glass of champagne and enjoy the sun!

What was initially a really pleasant stay has now become a terrible experience. My partner and I had used a gift voucher that entitled us to one night accommodation, light breakfast and a 3 course lunch or dinner for two at the restaurant. We decided to have dinner and before our meal we were told by the wait staff, who were very professional, that our meal was covered by the gift voucher. However, I recently discovered a $145 charge that was made to my debit card on the same night. No-one advised me of this charge during my stay. After contacting Nikki, the office administrator, I was simply told my voucher did not cover dinner. I have since sent her a copy of my booking confirmation that clearly states my voucher included the dinner package. Since then I have received no response. I'm really disappointed, as I've been wrongfully charged $145 for someone else's mistake and no-one from Barrenjoey House seems to be interested in getting this resolved. I will be referring this matter to NSW Fair Trading.

Sure, the food is top notch, such a flawless delight, awsome dining experience. Staff are welcoming and professional. Excellent location close to the beach and good sea view "The perfect rest” the place is calm and laid back. Overall experience outstanding, thank you to Barrenjoey House, staff and management.

Top spot! Cosy accommodation. Very clean and staff were so accommodating. Our meal in the restaurant was great and the bonus of organic wine!

Great B&B vibe with clean rooms, large beds and a nice breakfast. Definitely go for dinner at the restaurant downstairs, if you get the chance. Superb food. Would definitely come back for a weekend of R&R.

Beautiful and that's built-in to the price. Great ambience, food okay. You gotta try it yourself and make up your own mind if you want to come back. Try it once that's for sure is my recommendation.

Excellent views and a fabulous menu. The staff were a little serious to begin with and relaxed after a while. It was a perfect way to end a spectacularly sunny day in Palm Beach. We're looking forward to returning.

My darling husband organised a surprise 60th birthday dinner for 20. The staff at Barrenjoey House helped him set it up and keep the secret. They looked after me like a queen! The food was fabulous and the service efficient but discreet. The ambience beautiful, classy and relaxed. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you!

Scenery: perfect, even on a cloudy day. Meal: delicious and served promptly by excellent staff who were polite, friendly and efficient. I even asked for grilled fish instead of battered asper menu and it was not a problem. Very happy customer!

We go here for Valentine's Day every year and absolutely love it! Amazing food, friendly staff! And I love how they set the place for Valentine's Day with roses and candles on the tables. Couldn't recommend Barrenjoey house highly enough!

For the price on a Saturday night this place was great. Didn't quite understand why the cheapest night is Saturday… After dinner head up to Barrenjoey Lighthouse for a great view of the sky on a clear night!

Was thoroughly disappointed by my experience at Barrenjoey House. Having been before and enjoyed the food and view, I made a special booking for a birthday, only to discover that the recent is in fact split into two: one part is a fine-dining restaurant with nice tableware and a quiet, intimate atmosphere, the other (to the left of the entry) is like a cafeteria, with bright lighting, a cold draught from the windows and incredibly noisy. The unfortunate part is that you are not told this on booking, and there is no difference in the prices. When we politely asked that we sit in the restaurant, as per our booking, our waiter was rude and dismissive, as he continued to be throughout the evening. While the food here is decent, this deceitful approach to bookings and the subsequent service is not worth visiting. Save your money and go to Jonah's instead.

We booked a table for 4 for fathers day lunch. The food was very good but unfortunately we were seated in what seemed to be a crowded pre — school cafeteria. Most of the children were well behaved but it was very noisy and one toddler cried the whole way through lunch. I love children but its not reasonable to force everyone at an expensive restaurant to suffer. Take the child out for a walk or stay at home. The restaurant was also overbooked. Four of us were seated at a table for two which could not accommodate four plates, forcing my wife to balance her elbow over a Greek salad. Unfortunately this did not prompt the wait staff to remove the empty glasses which had been sitting there for an hour. Before we were served the are only course, I asked the host for a table in the quieter bar area, of which there were several. His immediate knee jerk response was "no" followed by useless statements of the blindingly obvious: "we're very busy" and "its Fathers Day. " Sorry that is not an excuse. At $40 a plate I think the restaurant has some obligation to provide a relaxing environment. After ten minutes, he came to our table to offer us an alternative. Too late our food had arrived. At this point we just wanted to eat our main and get out of there as fast as possible. Shame we couldn't enjoy the food because it tasted really nice. I am sure Fathers Day is a great day for the owners of Barrenjoey House. Shame about the adult guests.

I organised a lunch for a friend's hens party at Barrenjoey House, and it was absolutely brilliant. Every single element to the day, the flexibility around the booking and number of people, the perfect, private table on the elevated section of the restaurant and the service during lunch… All amaxing. We did the 3 course menu which was an excellent selection, the good was great and really generous servings. There were a few delays to a few things, so they took all our teas and coffees off, which was a nice surprise. We had an excellent day and will definitely be back!
