Mt Hay Retreat Hotel

Had a fabulous weekend at Mt Hay Retreat in May. View from our room was superb, could have just sat and enjoyed the view all day. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed a lovely swim in the pool and a stroll around the property. Would highly recommend for a relaxing and romantic getaway.

We're staying for our anniversary. Last night had a massage by Penny (fabulous) and then facial by Shannon (magnificent). Can't recommend this place enough Were coming again. We'll find another excuse. Like a half anniversary!

Very beautiful place, view is absolutely outstanding, Anthony and Louise were both very pleasant, helpful and conversational. The sunrise off our private deck was a great way to wake up, while the Koi pond was an awesome place to relax and watch the sun go down. To help unwind after a big day of exploring the local waterfalls (Fitzroy Falls) standing in our own waterfall in the shower (Rain Head and a very large shower head which both can operate at once) was so pleasant! We give this place 10/10.

Absolutely awesome retreat we did the xmas holidays there 2021 Dec, peaceful, romantic, views to die for … the property is gorgeous the hosts were lovely helpful lots of privacy still well looked after. Pool. & jacuzzi were beautiful 😍 had an amazing stay highly recommended would go back for sure 😊👍

This place is amazing! My partner and I stayed at the beginning of Dec. Beautiful views and gardens, the spa and pool were wonderful, everything was so well kept by Anthony and Louise! The suites are fantastic and clean, you can bird watch from the outside deck, and feed the koi in the pond nearby. Anthony and Louise were so lovely, and so quick with responses, very approachable and accommodating when we had questions or any concerns. In addition, they took the time to provide us with recommendations of activities and places to go, as well as an individual note with the weather forecast for our stay, so lovely! We'll definitely be going back!

Perfect getaway for a relaxing weekend! Run by a super welcoming and friendly family business. Accomodation so beautiful and clean, with breathtaking views! So close to the beautiful town of Berry. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay here again.

We have stayed here 3 times now and love the beautiful views, luxury rooms, and serene location. Highlights for us are the bathtub on our private terrace, the huge heated swimming pool and the beautiful gardens. Great to get away from it all — highly recommended.

We recently spent a few days at Mt Hay Retreat. What a treat!
Everything was just wonderful. The retreat is set amongst the most beautiful and tranquil landscape and it’s made to feel like you’re the only ones there. Our accommodation was fantastic, very private and quiet and the views were simply breathtaking. The pool was just glorious and we had it completely to ourselves. Anthony & Louise were extremely gracious hosts and made you feel ‘Berry’ welcome. I highly recommend Mt Hay Retreat for a quiet and romantic getaway. We’ll be back!

Breathtaking, Unique and incredible are 3 words I'd use to describe Mt Hay Retreat. The view will take your breath away, the area is green and lush with never ending views over the mountains. Access is via driving through an incredible rainforest and when you arrive at the top, the magic continues. The rooms are extra large and have everything you need. Pack some wine and goodies with you as you won't want to leave!
Electric vehicle charging is available, just ask the amazing hosts who are happy to run an extension cable for you.

It’s location is perfect. Far enough away from Berry to be completely quiet but close enough to experience this lovely village. Mt Hay resort is the most relaxing place for those who need to completely get away from it all. The room is luxurious and well appointed and the private balcony with outdoor bath is the best place to unwind.

What an amazing experience! We absolutely loved our stay here, from the moment we walked thru the door. Gorgeous views, spacious room and amenities, bath on the veranda overlooking all of Berry and the Shaolhaven, beautiful indoor pool, and gardens. Thank you Louise and Anthony for giving me a marvellous start to my 4th decade and 40th birthday celebration.

The accommodation was Berry nice and the owners were exceptional and made everything run seamlessly. We were at berry as the bush fires were encroaching and the owners made us feel safe and kept us informed at every stage.
We will be returning to enjoy this sensational escape.

Absolutely amazing stay at Mt Hay Retreat for my birthday getaway! Everything was perfect and the views from our suite during both dawn and dusk were breathtaking. Outdoor bathtub was a definite plus and the giant swing was awesome. It felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, suites were very private and we even had a chance to use the amazing pool and spa to ourselves. My husband & I recently stayed a couple of nights at Mt Hay Retreat and it was perfect. It was relaxing, private and just what we were looking for. Anthony & Louise were accomodating and the location is just amazing. You can venture out into Berry, Kangaroo Valley and Gerringong easily or just sit back, relax and enjoy the epic views!

Mt Hay Retreat has the most gorgeous views, lovely gardens, and accommodation designed to pamper you. Close to Berry for restaurants and shops, and not far from beautiful beaches. The ultimate escape for adults.

Mt Hay Retreat looks amazing in photos but it's even more stunning in real life! An escape from reality that truly delivers — from the giant swing over the rolling hills, to the outdoor bath, magnificent pool/spa, and stunning rooms — this place is next level. And, it's close to the beautiful town of Berry so you can enjoy a nice dinner and browse the cute shops. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway or to just recharge the batteries.

My Husband and I stayed for the first time last weekend. We were blown away by the stunning views from our room! The views are amazing both at night and during the day! The outdoor bath was amazing. We walked around the property and played on the giant swing like the big kids we are. We will definately be back for another stay. Thankyou for your great hospitality.

My Hay is a delightful, high altitude place to stay Anthony and Louise are astounding hosts and the apartments are beyond reproach with sweeping views of Berry.

A fantastic little retreat located 10 mins outside of Berry. My wife and I spent 3 nights at this beautiful property in June. From greeting us at our car to showing us our suite, Anthony and Louise provide a personal but not overbearing touch to the whole experience. Despite being located in the country, the suites have some fantastically modern features such as heated floor tiles in what is an extremely stylish bathroom; USB charging ports on either side of the bed, and a large screen TV. In the face of overcast weather, the views from the balcony are nothing short of stunning. Floor to ceiling windows (with electric roller blinds for privacy) allow you to sleep and wake up to the incredible horizon. There are plenty of quiet spots throughout the property for sitting and relaxing, watching some ducks swim in the dam, or simply taking in the views to the coast. With Berry just a quick trip down the mount, you're never short for options for food and drink. All in all, an amazing little retreat that definitely doesn't disappoint.

Amazing few nights away for my birthday. From our arrival to our departure the hosts were always helpful and welcoming. We stayed in suite 1 and the views and suite itself were incredible. With a large bath outside on our deck to the open plan bathroom inside with garden views. From our bed we could open the automatic blinds and watch the sun rise. The spa attached to the indoor pool was so relaxing. With Berry only a short drive for either lunch or dinner Mt Hay is the perfect getaway. We will definitely be returning.

We had a fantastic time here for our 1st anniversary. It's close to town, but very secluded and with amazing views. The villas were lovely. So many highlights — the pool, the secluded balcony bath, and the giant swing! Anthony and Louise were helpful and friendly.

Berry is a great place to go to and the amazing experience starts at Mt Hay Retreat. Wonderful views, suites that are designed to please. The wide balconies and windows welcome in the nature that is at your doorstep. Anthony and Louise are wonderful hosts that provided great tips on where to eat in Berry and were always keen to ensure our stay was an experience to remember. We will be back here again when the grind of city living demands a reprieve.

Mt Hay Retreat is romantic, relaxing and scenic. The villas are beautiful with the most amazing views. It is the perfect location if you are looking for a break away from the hustle and bustle. To top it off Anthony and Louise are friendly and accomodating. On their recommendation we climbed to the top paddock where we had a picnic whilst enjoying uninterrupted views of the coast. It was a very special weekend for us and we will definitely be back. If we could give more than 5 stars we would!

From the amazing views of country and ocean, privacy, the incredible room, farm animals, heated pool and spa, gardens and of course the swing! Mt Hay Retreat is the perfect place for a relaxed stay away from the rush and bustle of city life. Louise and Anthony are wonderful hosts, so friendly and available at any time to help and ensure you are happy and comfortable. It was super to chat to them regularly and be shown around their beautiful property. The suites are extremely comfortable and spacious with the most spectacular view over farmland and the coast. My husband and I stayed at Mt Hay Retreat recently to celebrate our one year marriage anniversary. We can't thank our wonderful hosts Louise and Anthony enough for Mt Hay Retreat, what a beautiful idea and a stunning property. Our suite was just perfect and the views were amazing, I even managed to wake up at 6am to witness the sun rising up over the ocean. We even managed to squeeze in some beach time at Hyams Beach. I loved staying at Mt Hay Retreat, and I recommend it to any couple wanting a beautiful and peaceful getaway!

We stayed at Mount Hay Retreat for a couple of nights mid week and had a wonderful stay. The suites all have big balconies with amazing views from the hills across Berry to the coast each with an outdoor bath. Inside there is everything you need with a large space containing the bedroom, living area and small kitchen area. It is stylishly done but also very comfortable. The beds and pillows are particularly comfortable. The bathroom looks out onto a "secret" garden which brings the outdoor in while keeping the elements out. The B&B is only 10 minutes from Berry (taxi available if you don't want to drive to dinner), but is tucked up in the hills so it feels as though you are very much in the country. There are fish to feed, hens to see and a walk around beautiful gardens. We enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay again. Just to note that Mount Hay retreat does not take children.

The bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to get out of it. The only reason I did was to go for a wander through the lovely gardens and to play on that incredible swing.
