Great place to stay … The safari tents highly recommend them. Well done south coast retreat!

Perfect spot right on the water stayed in cabin 3 which we have stayed in before.
It’s all freshly painted and bed is super comfortable.
Gorgeous walk along the waters edge right in front of the retreat.

Absolutely beautiful area right on the water. Friendly staff and nice clean, comfortable accommodation. I hope to return soon.

Terry & I have been going to SCR for the last 7 years. The management & staff are always friendly & helpful. The accomodation is clean & comfortable. It feels like our home away from home because our PAW baby is welcome too.

What a great place to stay.
Great for couples and families. Also PET friendly. My 16month old loved the park across the road. The Fish & Chips were fantastic from DJ’s (watch out for the Pelicans)
The butcher shop had great meat. … The staff at the Soth Coast Retreat were friendly and very helpful.
This place is clean and so peaceful.
We stayed in the two bedroom cabin. The deck was great, it has a gate to keep your kiddies & pets safe 100% coming back. With our family and pets!

I could not recommend South Coast Retreat highly enough. Chosen because of the dog-friendliness, went over and above out expectations! Perfect location opposite water, park and lovely walkway around waterway. Water views from our upstairs unit, great facilities and very thoughtful touches. Well equipped kitchen, BBQ and balcony gave us a great option for eating at home. Machine coffee made at reception for a donation, even bought over to my unit! Staff are a delight and the whole booking process was very professional. SCR offers extremely good value and I cant wait to return with our fishing rods next time!

Great location just across the road from the water. Friendly service and well appointed rooms. Studio room on stilts with balcony looks over the tops of the other cabins to maintain good water view.

Really loved the views and the cottages. The staff is helpful and cooperative. I dont remember when was the last time I saw so many stars in the night and the views of the distant galaxies as I could see a view step away from my cottage. Greenwell point is surely a nicely preserved place and the south coast retreat a GEM in that.

I went there on a fishing trip with a couple of mates, turned out to be a great fishing experience, will definitely go again.

This place is awesome. It is the absolute best pet friendly place we've ever been to. We stay in a cabin (dogs are allowed to sleep inside too) right opposite the lake & a park with a lengthy walkway in between to exercise the dogs & enjoy a leisurely walk.

Be aware: the bell tents are next to the road, all very cramped together, noisy, not as glamourous as the photos make it out to be. Bed was comfy, facilities were clean but basic, no real beach within walking distance, just a marina with boats and a pier.

We luved this place. We were in the chalet. Luvly deck facing the water. Hospitality was wonderful. Breakfast was fresh and yummy. Free bikes. Easy riding around. Very relaxing.

Fantastic for travelling with your dog. Cabins are clean and cosy. Bed is comfy as well. Full kitchen and the balcony is secured with water views. The staff are super helpful as well. Will return with our little cavoodle.

Luke and I enjoyed our visit down the south coast. Lovely place to stay with our lil pupper. Right across the road is amazing views with plenty of opportunity to go fishing. We had to leave early as my partner Luke rolled his ankle but will definitely be back, great place to stay if you have a pet.

This place is great — great beaches nearby, great fishing right off the rocks (even better by boat), and great food just down the road.

We absolutely loved staying at South Coast Retreat! The staff were incredible, our safari tent was perfect for what we needed and the location was beautiful. We would highly recommend it and we will definitely be coming back!

Hi. We (couple) stayed two nights at waterview cabin. The location and staff were very nice, but the cabin was just horrible. Furniture was all in dust, all kitchen appliances from cups to cooktop were VERY UNCLEAN. Even kitchen towels were dirty and ragged. But the most horrible place was BED WITH STRONG CHEMICAL SMELL linen, which stayed with us even after we left. Bathroom was ok, but with USED bathroom amenities supplies. Dear staff, please pay little bit more attention to the cleanliness into the cabins. For now I will not recommend anyone to stay here.

A jewel of a find for somewhere so well kept that allows dogs. Beautiful setting and very peaceful. Right next to the river and lots of local walks. A pleasure to visit and excellent customer service too.

Had such a nice two night stay at the south coast retreat! Absolutely stunning water front! Cabins were very clean An tidy! An staff are very very helpful An make your stay that much better! Thank you guys will definitely be back soon! Oh an even better it's pet friendly! My two dogs loved it down there!

I love this place! We stayed in the large safari tent for 2 nights and had the most amazing time! The tents are so well set up, modern and clean-best shower we've had in 6 weeks of traveling. Very reasonably priced for what you are getting. The breakfast hamper was a generous size and full of delicious goodies. The staff were so lovely and helpful (even at 8pm at night when we tripped the power! ) Highly recommended, the town is quite small but locals are lovely and scenery is quite spectacular. Thanks so much for a magical end to our trip!

Stayed in one of the large Glamping Tents. Was an amazing experience. Very clean, in great condition. Staff were awesome. Location is great, locals and guests were quiet. The experience in whole was perfect. Exactly what we expected and we're looking for.

Location, location, location. Perfectly situated across the road from the wharf, public swimming pool and cafes. Short stroll to pub, IGA and servo. Accommodation was perfect. Clean and well presented. Staff very helpful and polite. Units are air conditioned.

A very nice place to getaway for a few days. The staff and particularly owners were very warm and kind. Great service Our tent was 5 stars. Clean well presented and comfortable. Beach and fishing at our door step. Be warned … you will have a very nice relaxing break.

For the benefit of the readers, It is my turn to now clear a few things up… I did not once refer to you as "the girl" nor did you try and comprise. Both calls, first one when making the booking and second when you phoned to check when we hadn't arrived on the incorrect date put into the system were both done in the presences of my partner who can be my witness. I tried speaking with you and apolgised to you that we were not going to be there on the Friday as this could have made you loose the $35.00. I admitted to you on the phone that I should have checked my email but this is my mistake as we were travelling and I apologised for that as well. But I will not apologise for the incorrect date as again I did not make the mistake. You booking procedure you mentioned confirmed on the phone Saturday 19th as this was our plans all along. As it turned out you didn't loose the $35.00 as you refused our stay for the Saturday night but that is okay as we took our business elsewhere who were happy to have it and were very friendly and welcoming. Mistakes happen, we understand that, after all we are all human but please treat us as people who have feelings and please don't talk to any other customer the way you spoke to me. It really was the only disappointment of our holiday.

We have stayed at Angler's Rest in May 2015 & again in October 2015, having just the best stay on the east coast of OZ and so picturesque at Greenwell Point. An unsaid beauty. Staff are great and welcoming. Accommodation is very clean and tidy.

We love Angler's Rest Greenwell Point NSW. We first went there for our Honeymoon and have been numerous times since. In fact we look for excuses to go there. We find Liz, Simon Cindy and other staff very helpful and friendly. They make us feel that it is our home away from home. Being walking distance from the best fish and chips in NSW sold by DJ's is also a plus, and the fact that Crookhaven Heads has a off leash beach where we can take our dog is a real joy for us It's good to be among real animal lovers. Our Staffy is always made welcome and that make it very relaxing for us. Terry Wilde.

One of the nicest places to visit whilst down the south coast. We stayed in cabin 4 on 1st and 2nd Feb and could not have been happier. Staff were very welcoming on arrival and check-in was seamless. Accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and we availed ourselves of the free Wi-Fi and complimentary dvd library when the weather turned sour. We really can't fault the place and will definitely come back and stay in the same cabin (which has uninterrupted water views). We'd recommend the Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens Club about 10 minutes out of town for superb food and friendly service.

Well worth giving this place a wide berth. Owners are litigious at the drop of a hat. Should consider their position on the community first and foremost.

IT is quite strange writing this report because I actually never got to stay at this place. We managed to book in because they had a cancellation. We were looking forward to staying because having gone over to have a look around it looked like an OK place. A couple of people at the place we did stay at around the corner had told us we would be better staying put at the site we had already set up on. Despite this being the fishing addict that I am I was keen to move our motor home over there so that I could hire a boat for a few days. Our plans all changed today when the winds picked up and tore our awning off our motor home. We decided it would be best to drive home get it repaired and visit later in the month. I contacted Anglers rest and explained the situation. I spoke to a lady on reception who said she thought that I might have to pay for my whole stay. I explained that I had paid a deposit and understood I might lose that but I would not accept paying the whole break. I had only booked it 2 days before and was given a cancelled space anyway. I made it very clear that she should not take any more money from my card and that I had not authorised Anglers retreat to store my details. An hour later I got a receipt stating that they had taken the full payment. I decided to call them and tell them that this was not authorised and I believe that that by taking an unauthorised payment they had acted fraudulently.

We stayed in a studio for two nights and it was immaculate. Very clean and well equipped with everything we expected plus a few nice extras like a plunger and fresh coffee. Very friendly staff who welcomed us with our dog. The youngest of the staff even offered to mind our dog although I don't think this is a typical service they offer, but very friendly and we are grateful. The location is also excellent with a quiet and picturesque waterfront park across the road. Highly recommended, we will be visiting again.

Anglers rest? No peace or privacy for guests! We recently booked for a few nights in the villa – we were told how wonderful and deluxe the place was by the manager. We told them we had small dogs we were bringing with us and was looking forward to a peaceful stay. First impression – walk into the villa, there was a hole in fibro the wall, bare and rough concrete floors in the lounge and dining. There were mats partially covering the concrete, but how about a little cheap vinyl or some tiles? 4 star accommodation, more like 2 star in our opinion. The worst of it was, our dining room/lounge and kitchen areas, backed onto the front main office with only a door to separate us. The office opened at 8am and we heard every conversation, and feared that any conversation we had was heard as well. Our dogs would not stop barking as the voices from the front office were like they were coming from inside the villa. It felt like the managers and other guests were in our living room. We couldn’t stand it as we were stressed and so were our dogs. I went to speak to management right away and I was told we couldn’t be moved as they were booked out and that on our booking we would have been told about the villa being noisy and attached to the main office — which was completely untrue because we NEVER would have made a booking if we were told this. There was no compassion at all. I don’t believe they would tell potential guests this anyway as they would never lease the villa out!
