Beautiful YHA in a lovely spot with view of Mount Warning on the Tweed River. Tassie is adorable and very helpful. Excellent knowledge of his region. Recommend it strongly!

This hotel caters for junkies, drug dealers and peodophiles. You will be met in the halls by people asking for money, smokes etc, Fights and police are a regular accourance. Take caution when mixing with these troubled people, your door wil be kicked in and life threatened.

Great hostel… The amenities are very good beds are comfortable… The view of The Tweed River is fantastic… The shops are a 5-10 minute walk away. So all in all Murwillumbah is a great place to spend a holuday…

Went here for lunch. Venue was very quiet. Food was pretty good and fantastic value.

What a shock on arrival, it was like a backpackers. Had trouble finding someone to check me in at first, then when I was shown the accommodation, I was shocked to say the least. It was old, curtains hanging off the windows, smelt of smoke despite the signs saying no smoking. Bathroom was very old and tired and hairs on the floor etc. Very lucky to get the water right. The carpet was filthy. The bed was fine and the sheets were clean, just as well. The place seemed to be full of permanent people who were noisy and banging on things half the night. The hallway was full of smoke smell and very dirty. The entrance to the motel was disgusting. From the outside it looked disgusting. The previous night we had stayed at a near new motel and paid $120. And we paid $121 for this rundown motel.

GO THERE! One of the most beautiful places to stay;) the backpacker is right by the river and it's just amazing:) always at 9 o'clock pm Tassie (the owner) brings free ice cream for everyone. You will definitly feel at home there:) You can kayaking or just take a swim in the river or you can walk on the big mountain near there. There are really a lot of things to do there. Or you can just chill on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful view:)

Great place to stay to experience the quaint small town of murwillumbah. The operator of the hostel tassie is friendly, helpful and has a laugh without being overbearing. Being a small hostel there is an intimacy to the place that lends itself to conversations with strangers without the overcommercialised party culture of byron. Would definitely recommend this place to travellers or locals alike. For nature lovers there is tonnes of stuff to do within 30min drive.
