Lovely old fashioned relaxed pub. Good hearty meal, friendly staff and ice cold beers. Will be back.

What a great little country pub, super relaxed friendly folk all chatting together enjoying each other’s company and the beauty of being away from the hustle bustle of city life. Some fantastic characters getting around Herberton! Well worth a visit to this pub with thousand stories to tell, foods great too. I will be back! 👍

I love the atmosphere for Karaoke, Trivia and live bands. The bar staff are so friendly and the bistro food is awesome.

We loved our 3 day stay. The affordable room and accommodation was clean and freshly renovated. The breakfast was great and the meals were the best pub meals we’ve had on our holidays. Five stars thank you.

The food is wonderful and great price also great staff take people there for lunch often. Best food in Springwood.

We’ve become regulars at the bistro at The Royal and feel we need to share the best kept secret in the mountains. The chef is so talented, the food is incredible, steaks are perfection every time and we will keep coming back for more. Last week when most of Springwood was closed due to a water main failure, they powered through under really difficult circumstances. So glad we have this as our local.

Regular visitors to the Royal every Tuesday night. We come for the fun, friendly and entertaining trivia night run by Aaron from KBE Trivia and the amazing food served up each and every week from the restaurant. Bistro 56 run by the ever delightful and charismatic owner and Chef Tish, her amazing staff and superb customer service delivered by Georgia never fails to deliver quality meals, expertly cooked, plated and so so tasty! Bar Staff are very friendly and always quick to serve with a smiile! Highly recommend the Royal Hotel.

Have really great entertainment, like the Generators, regularly. Fun & friendly place. Locals are friendly & like to dance with you.
Separate sections for those who just want to socialise, those that want to enjoy the band & those that want to watch the sports whilst having a drink. Love the Royal.

Nice, standard Aussie pub to go grab a drink or a feed. Also has accommodation, bottle shop and ATM on site. Food came out quick and they gave out free pretzel sticks at the bar!

This place is a great place to have a drink with the boys or to bring your family a dinner out. They offer great tasting food with a variety of different drinks. during the day they often setup a small indoor jumping castle for kids which is just absolutely fantastic. only problem with this place I have is the majority of the staff arent that friendly food and come up to be quite expensive.

Much improved since renovation. The front courtyard is always busy, even on a winter's day. The rear dining room is well laid out. Menu is just big enough — not trying too hard. We had the clam chowder, excellent! A good, honest pub.

Good local can be a bit slow with service but make up for it in other ways. Food is great, a bit expensive but you get a massive dish full of food. Only 3 poker machines you can smoke at and they are hard to access by wheelchair. Average size non smoking poker machine area but easily accessible to anyone not in a wheelchair. Gets pretty busy Thursday, Friday and some Saturday nights as well as days and nights like Australia day and Anzac day.

The Royal was a perfect setting, the food was great (Best Barramundi He's ever had' said my uncle. My husband and I shared our meals as we always do; we both enjoyed the tenderest slow cooked lamb shoulder, and the yummiest Chicken supreme (Kiev style), stuffed with lovely flavours. Spinach and Ricotta, I think
the atmosphere was perfect for a small get together, the service quick and friendly, the venue, newly renovated, was inviting and comfortable.
We sat and chatted well after our meal, and not hurried off by the staff, who allowed to stay and linger.
Great place for a pub lunch get together and big enough for a larger group get together.

Amazing Beef and Guinness Pie with a pint of Guinness for only $20. Id give 5 stars if there was a warm fire place (and the death metal loving locals might turn down the jukebox a little). Nice historical place inside though.

We reserved a table for 10 for my birthday dinner. Table was set lovely with beautiful flower arrangement (nice touch). Then the food was ordered and service was amazing. Then came the food — 10 meals and EVERYONE was impressed. Food was cooked to perfection! tasted great with generous servings. Its awesome to finally have somewhere to eat locally that you dont have to take out a mortgage for but tastes like you should. The service was incredible and we will all be back regularly. Thanks to the staff for an amazing birthday dinner!

Loving Bistro 56. Best food in Springwood. The staff are friendly and accomadating. Customer service at its finest. The barramundi in peanut and lime sauce is mouthwatering. I've eaten here a few times and every meal has been exquisite. Will definitely be keeping me as a happy diner.

Rating for the very friendly female bar tender who served me on Tuesday evening (I'm sorry did not catch her name). She knows the balance between friendly small chat, good service and still giving customers their space! She made me feel comfortable despite arriving as a single female to a pub that I might otherwise have left. A quiet pub on a weeknight, it appears to have much greater potential for community involvement and tourist visitors, than what I've seen the couple of times I've visited. Would be good to have some seating areas with a more cosy, comfortable relaxed vibe. The large rooms, bright lights, cafeteria style tables and huge open bistro space make it feel too much like an employee lunch room or hospital bistro, than it should. The big spaces also make the lack of patrons very noticeable and that may turn customers off staying for a drink or meal (my first instinct was to leave due to the atmosphere, but I decided to give it a chance on two occasions). All this being said, I will be back for a casual quick bite or drink with expectations not to stay for too long. The location is very convenient, right across the road from the train station, buses and taxi's so really good when waiting for a connection or as a meeting spot for heading out with friends.

Beer selection is below average, food is reasonable for a pub. The tables are sticky.

Ok place for a night stay. Clean and maintained. There was a lot of noise from the bar/bristo during night almost till 2 am in the morning. Might not go back there again for that reason.

Lovely room, lovely staff, Kay will make you feel very welcome, handy to everything & a great coffee shop next door for that early morning brew. Clean room with a great powerful shower what we all enjoy. Opp train station but noise was not a problem. Walk to everything and a nice friendly village atmosphere. Would I stay again, most definitely! Read Patrick's review, saw none of what he said as is a family friendly place, I stayed 3 x nights and Hotel is well run & super friendly. Pubs have atmosphere unlike Motels and I enjoy that aspect as you get to meet real locals, anyway his comments are over 2yrs old. Gary.
