Wonderful staff, spacious room with a very comfortable bed, very clean, great shower. Beautiful common areas. Close to shops and cafè's. Would definitely return ❤️

Fab art deco hotel right in the middle of Katoomba. Great rooms and staff.

Exquisite building beautifully maintained grand and elegant but not stuffy or fussy just warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and professional and the light meal we had was delicious.

Just spent a weekend here. The room was large & comfortable, bed was so luxurious. Very close to town & a comfortable walk to the club & main part of Katoomba. The staff were very friendly & helpful, especially Josephine who was so lovely & caring. The food in the small restaurant was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful weekend away.

Look awesome when I went to watch the Elvis festival but never stayed there. Might stay next time.

I booked a twin room one night stay for myself and daughter and told them we would arrive early. The place looked very good and great price! But on arrival were told to come back after 2pm. When we came back to check in, the room had been upgraded… great I thought! On entering the room it was a KING DOUBLE! Not appropriate at all. I spoke with the woman who checked us in and very rudely said that is what was booked. Well I booked a twin on the website along with the time of arrival. She said we will charge you to redo the room! This woman has single handedly spoiled our one night stay on Katoomba… I will never stay or recommend them. Need to train front desk staff!

Originally built in 1896 by Mr. Spier of Charchill, the royal palace began as a two separate cottage called Grieric and the hillside.
In the 1900, the Sisters of Charity invited Glenneric as the monastery of Saint-Canis, and in 1 905 years both huts joined the St. Mary's Hill College-providing young ladies with language, mathematics, needlework, art of a boarding school, aerobics and music. By 1912, Glen Eric had been operating as a hotel for the first time since the university was relocated to a specially built site.
Two years later, the two huts rallied again to become a hillside hotel run by Miss Hill, who retained the name of the hillside as she moved on. For some time between 1924 and 1914, Mr. And Mrs. AE Marsh took over ownership of the guesthouse they claimed to be the royal palace.
Mrs. Martha added a stylish new look to the exterior of the building with elegant and elegant delicate eyes, and for the first time painted cream.
When Mr. And Mrs. Swamp won the lottery, they added a second story to the building, and through the creation of the Grand Ballroom to indulge their ballroom dancing passion-18 inspired by a magnificent mirror space for centuries of French design, with leadlight windows and complex eaves to work. The royal Palace can accommodate 130 guests and is known as the place to stay in Lanshan-a reputation that extends into the the 1950s.

Great place to stay. The rooms are small but they are true to their historic past. Clean and comfortable. The staff were very kind and accommodating. The continental and hot breakfasts were both good. We loved enjoying a port and glass of wine near the fire in the lounge.

There are three sisters in the hotel with British building feeling, there are two supermarkets around the night.

The deluxe king room exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. The location of this hotel is very convenient being close to cafes, restaurants and the three sisters.

Continental era hotel, but very well maintained. Rooms, towels and linens are new and clean. Bar had everything that I asked for. Friendly staff. Thank you Palaus Royale!

We stayed here for one night and it was perfect! The location is great. It’s close to all the hikes, the 3 sisters, and the main town. We walked everywhere from this hotel. The room was spacious, very clean, brand new carpet, and we even had views of the blue mountains! We really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was perfect! There’s a buffet and you can order off heir menu. Staff is very nice and attentive and made the stay very pleasant. The GM Rob is great too! We will definitely be back!

Perfectly located in the town with restaraunts and shops 2 min away. Very close (walking distamce) all the main viewpoints and hikes. We loved the old Victorian styling of this hotel! The common areas are really beautiful and comfortable to hang out in. The rooms are very clean with white sheets on the dog beds. The rooms are pretty big and spacious with flat screen tv's. Our room had a nice view of the blue mts as well. Brand new carpets throughout the property There is also a ballroom and a spa with a Jacuzzi and sauna. Cute place at a great price.

From the super polite receptionist checking us in, to the lovely layout of the room, this place is a joy. Quiet and elegant. Just what we wanted.

Staff is very friendly and the location is excellent. The hotel needs a bit of maintenance though, but I guess this is something minor. I definitely encourage people to stay there.

Rustic hotel. Not kid friendly when it comes to its facilities so don't go here with kids. Their breakfast host prefers Caucasians. My opinion.

Very nice and clean hotel. A friendly person in reception to greet us. Room has a fridge and kettle. Room slightly on the small side for a 'deluxe' but still large enough. Overall a good stay in Katoomba and would recommend.

Impressive building, clean and very well maintained in the front courtyard entrance etc. Good rooms and parking.

We were not shown to our room we were handed the keys and given directions up two flights of stairs through the rabbit warren towards the back of the building, we were not offered assistance with our luggage. The room was at the very back of the building, right next to a fire exit door which was locked. The bathroom had rubbish on the floor, a dirty bath and mouldy shower curtain which I have photos of. We found the Palais Royale, (Katoomba), through Luxury Escapes, but this was no luxury and we will not be back. There is a restaurant on the premises but this is only open for breakfast.

Lovely place to stay close to all the tourists spots, really friendly staff especially the lovely lady in the breakfast room, her face just lit up when she smiled and welcomed us to breakfast, which was delicious. Rooms were very clean, comfy beds and the decor took us back in time, well worth a stop over.

Visited Palais Royale for a couple of nights.
What we loved was the presentation of the hotel, with bygone era with high ceilings, leadlight windows and lovely decor. The dining area downstairs is huge, with a fireplace and beautiful polished timber floors.
Staff are nice and happy to assist.
Rooms are generous in size with a king sized bed, and comfortable.
The Palais Royale is located in the main street of Katoomba, within easy waking distance to shopping centres.
Echo point and scenic world is also in walking distance if you are up to a couple km walk.
Would recommend staying at the Palais.

The staff were wonderful. Unfortunately the rooms were not great. The television did not work and even when replaced, it did not work properly. The bathroom only two towels, one hand towel and a bath mat were supplied. No heating.

Beautiful Old world hotel. Clean and tidy and handy to Galleries and Shops. Very enjoyable.

I am not one that usually complains but I was incredibly disappointed with this hotel. First of all, when we arrived to check in, the man at the reception desk was so rude and unwelcoming, he did not even know what room we had booked. When we finally got to our room which was SUPPOSED to be a 'Deluxe King Room' and it looked more like a regular queen room. We had just took what we got at this stage thinking maybe their rooms are just small like that. We then found a book in the room stating that they offer massages and to call reception for more details. So we called reception and the same man, rudely said that they don't do massages at all EVEN THOUGH it said in the book that they do, so that was false information. Worst pillows ever, totally hard as a rock and flat as anything both me and the person I was staying with woke up at 3 am with a sore neck and despite the fact that I had paid for breakfast in advance, we did not want to be there and drove home which is 2 hours away at 4 am. Would not recommend this place to anyone at all.

Enjoyed our stay at Palais Royale very much. Great location on the main street with plenty of parking, pleasant traditional decor, liked the style of an old building. Friendly, professional, helpful staff.

Had a nice two night stay here. Good location in Katoomba near lots of cafes and shops. Quaint rooms and hotel sitting areas. Attentive reception staff. Spent some good time in the hotel spa and sauna.

The weekend just passed my brother married his bride in the beautiful everglades gardens. The bride decided to go here for the reception; it was going to be a beautiful fairy tale Disney themed wedding. It was an overall a rocky experience at best! After going through 6 event managers and 2 head chefs in nearly 18 Months I was having my doubts there would even be a reception, each time they (my brother and bride) went down for a meeting it was a new face and another person they had to explain their entire wedding plans to (there was no communication or files/paperwork, Terms and conditions, contract, run sheets, NOTHING for any of the events left before the previous managers departure) I did feel sorry for the staff but by the 4th manager I was losing my patience with the situation. 2 days out from the wedding I receive a call from my brother having a breakdown because "the owner of the Palais Royale has decided we can no longer have round tables as they are too labor intensive". This is when I realized why they had gone through so many event managers and worried if we would even have a venue. We weren't allowed into the venue until 10am to set up, However when we arrived it was up to me, my partner and 2 young nephews to set up the room. Including moving all the regular tables and chairs out of the room! Only to have the owners come down and start arguing with us about where we could place the tables, chairs and decorations in the room!

Place is good. Dont expect service. A bit exp for what you get.

After staying a the Palais Royale Hotel we can really say that it was an a amazing experience, it being a great location with loads of history to its olde world style. We loved the very affordable rooms with full baths, They were comfortable and clean with nice district views. We loved the buffet breakfast on offer — it being very good quality food for a low price. The staff were incredibly helpful and never hesitated to assist when we were in need. The legendary ballroom was just simply stunning, boasting the finest luxury. Public Transport was at our doorstep and the hotel is very close to all amenities and sightseeing! Will definitely be coming back.

Booked a deluxe king size bed room. Got two single mattresses pushed together. — No fridge, or no basic supplies like cups, tea or coffee or anything of this sort — The spa is disappointing, just a home jaccuzzi type spa and the jets weren't working properly. No instructions or anything as well. Sauna was okay. — No view whatsoever which is a shame seeing the price of the rooms — Cheap guest house up the road was much better value and supplied us with everything you would expect at most hotels — The place was clean and definitely looks fancy but we found it was just an illusion in the end. Not up to the high standards promoted on the website (and paid for. ) — It is a shame to have raised guests' expectations. Us being two young students this hotel was a bit over our budget but we thought it would at least meet these expectations, and sadly it didn't.

Here for a wedding. Great set up. Nice lighting inside. The staff is not really helpful. Kept on forgetting orders.
