Pleasant, quiet, clean, and convenient. Comfy beds and ensuite shower rooms. Run by a couple who live downstairs who take interest in their guests’ every need in a genuinely friendly manner. They have first-hand knowledge of the region providing valuable advice on destinations and activities. Bariloche’s tourism in general has the feel of being run by families and settlers of this both remote but multicultural paradise. Staying in el Antiguo Solar you may share the dining table with visiting Argentineans, Latin or North Americans or Europeans, all seeking to view the beauty spots of this unique National Park. The guest house is conveniently located only a step outside the busy central part of town but close to several reasonably priced restaurants or take-outs and stores on the street below. You can prepare food in a shared kitchen as long as you are not planning to fry stake (a house rule meant to protect others from the cooking smell). But you wouldn’t want to cook stake there when you can buy it “to go” from down the street sold in healthy chunks just plucked out from a charcoal fired grill. Staying there is like being with friends while being in control of your day and privacy.
