Hostels in PatagoniaHostel

We had a fantastic time at Chepatagonia. Mati was undoubtedly one of the most friendly and helpful hosts we have stayed with across our time travelling the world, including hostels and Airbnb's.

A wonderful experience at this hostel. The owner was super friendly and helpful as were all the staff.

Great hostel to sleep at! Great facilities, good prices, warm and cozy bedrooms, good location and extremely nice receptionists!

We booked 4 nights at the private room at this hostel about a month in advance (it was the only accommodation option we could find on Google). The price was pretty high due to the high season.

Really helpful staff. Let me keep my bag and bikes at the hostel when I went to el chalten for a few days. When I came back with a. Leg injury they made sure I had a bottom bunk to make things easier.

Best hostel I have ever stayed at! The manager is the most helping, very sweet and kind! It is very clean, the breakfast is amazing and generally there is everything you may need!

Honestly, this is the best hostel I’ve stayed at so far. Everything was spot on: super clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a great atmosphere.

The location of the hostel is great.
It's pretty comfortable. There's a big common area and kitchen. The bathroom doesn't seem to be enough, and the toilet was clogged which was kinda disgusting…

We had a great stay. Excellent hostel with comfortable rooms and a fantastic lounge area with bar and restaurant.

The hostel is located about 15min from the bus terminal and 10min from supermarket.
The staff is very nice and welcoming and helps you solve any problem, book a tour, or arrange a bus.

Stay here. Basic but comfortable rooms and standard bunk beds. The staff are the true stars of the experience. A big thank you for making our stay a fun and informative experience.

I stayed 10 days here and I had a great experience. Great place for a solo traveler. Safe and very clean. Beds are nothing special but clean and comfortable enough. The location is excellent in town.

Eugenio and Paloma are incredible host's. Their hostel has got incredible charm with beautiful local art. The place is full of tips on what to in Calafate and how to get around.

We stayed for 2 nights in a private room and we very much enjoyed our stay. The description matched well and the room was clean and comfortable.

I had an overall okay stay at Hostel & Departamentos Kaiken. The staff was great, and the location was absolutely amazing.

Good, comfortable hostel. There were three shared bathrooms to go around; rarely had to wait to use them. The showers worked great. The Wi-Fi (via Starlink) worked well too.

We loved our stay at I Keu Ken right from the start. The hosts are extremely friendly and accommodating. Great recommendations on food to eat and sites to see.

This was my first true hostel experience and I don’t think i’ll ever find one as nice. Max and Meli were seriously the most gracious hosts.

Stayed at Patagonia Hostel for 3 nights in March 2026 as a couple in a double room with private bathroom.

Great place in the heart of El Chalten and close to national park access points. Excellent service, good vibe amongst the staff.

Unironically the best hostel we stayed at!
It was really clean, and I feel like they were cleaning all the time, which made the hostel look really nice!

Great hostel with the friendliest staff around. We stayed here in a private room and loved it. It’s right next to the bus station but only a 5/10 minute walk into the Main Street of El Calafate.

This is 5 stars based on it being a hostel. Rooms cleaned and beds made every day. Bathrooms in the room.

We stayed for 3 days. Rooms were very spacious (could fit 3-4 single beds), pretty clean. Bathrooms equipped correctly, although they look very basic.

Beautiful hostel/camping. The location is perfect, 100 m is the blue river (lots of peace and quiet) and 900 m from the center. Lake Puelo, 2 km away.

Amazing experience! We stayed in a private apartment but we had access to the common areas as well. The sheets and towels were changed EVERY DAY and the whole place was impeccably clean!

Stayed in the 4 bed dorm for 4 nights.
Lovely big hostel, Emilio is quick to respond to messages if any issues.
Warm showers, comfy beds, and 2 well equipped showers.

We stayed for one night. It was nice. The bed is small but good. Kitchen is clean. Good hot shower. Polite and friendly staff. It is a smaller scale hostel with fewer guests so it is a bit quieter.

Nice, well-equipped kitchen. Good showers and rooms. Can store luggage.
We did not like that they wanted to charge for luggage storage.

The hostel is really nice. Beds are really comfortable with curtains and a shelf, and plenty of locker storage in the room. Hot showers and clean bathrooms.

Review for double room with private bathroom: located in different building from the hostel area, the hotel area is quiet and nice. Room is decent and warm.

Amazing hostel, really new and has an amazing view on El Calafate. The staff were SO nice and helpful we really enjoyed staying in Viajero.
One thing — it’s a little bit far from the city center.

The hostel is beautiful with incredible views over the Argentino Lake. The staff is very friendly and organise little events to connect people.

Transfer to Perito Moreno was perfect. Communication was great, picked us up at our Airbnb on time and was comfortable. 35k per person was cheaper than the buses.

Took their transfer to perito moreno and it was perfect! Driver was lovely and price was 15 dollars cheaper than elsewhere in town (35 thousand) recommended!

The owner is a very nice person. Everything was clean and the price is more than fair. The hostel is really eco friendly but not in a way that makes it less comfortable.

The best hostel I have ever stayed in!
This is a very late review but I stayed at Hostel Calafate Viejo for 5 months during COVID in 2020 when the world was locked down.

Best camping in town. Lush green lawns. Apple trees. Wind protection. And good kitchen. A good choice especially coz other camping sites in town are overcrowded without a kitchen.
