Overall a good place, as far as hostels go. Well located in San Telmo, clean, and a whole host of activities for people looking for whatnot to do. The staff is also very helpful. Got good recommendations for food, drinks, and even literature.

Excellent hostel, class. It has an elevator. The rooms are very nice and clean. With TV. Air conditioning. Large window. How many with a subsoil of recreation. Smart Tv, armchairs, books, PCs. Internal Patio with barbeque. Breakfast is paid in part. Very complete. Equipped kitchen. The guys at reception were very warm.

Great hostel with lots of free tours and events. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Stayed in a private room which has aircon, comfortable bed and electrical sockets next to bed. Shower is also great in the room. There is a supermarket across the road too. Would definitely be 5* if either the breakfast was free or the kitchen was extended… it is tiny for the amount of people in the hostel and we have to wait every time we want to cook. Also the Wi-Fi is very fast when it connects but continually drops.

I spent a good time in America del Sur Hostel!
My first impression was that I didn't feel like in an hostel, but more in an hotel. It changes from usual hostels and the atmosphere might be less convivial.
The room was clean and with air-conditioning (essential in summer).
You can have good information at the reception, a map, and a shuttle to the airport is also possible for a decent price.
The situation is good for the public transports (metro station close), but you are not in the center, or in a neighborhood for parties and restaurants.

The guys at the front desk are very friendly and always happy to help you out on anything! The rooms are always clean and tidy, with access to air conditioning; Like the bathroom.
It Is A very central place and it is easy to move from one place to another, as it also has a nearby subway station.

A hotel horror! Q say doors windows and curtains re dirty, bed a mattress or talk. Never that hotel again!

Great hostel. Checks all the boxes. Location, hot showers, good Wi-Fi, comfy bed, helpful staff, and a great playlist for background music. Really appreciated the daily organized tours — that's a large part of what makes hostels more enjoyable than hotels. I'd definitely recommend America del Sur.

Great rooms, lots of activities to get into and a great bar directly opposite the hostel. Feels like a hotel without the price tag! TV room with Netflix was ideal for those chill out nights.

My dear America Hotel! Economic and always with some free room for urgent cases. It is true q the rooms are basic and old, but also very spacious. X price and area, reasonable. Attentive staff.

My family and I already went 10 times, up to a full week on several occasions and do not change it, good price, excellent service, now included breakfast, the area intimidating does not know, but it only says. As you say so many things, this police front and never happened anything, we leave at night, we don't have car, girls go out alone, excellent location! the best for us, back in August.

This was our 10th week-long stay, I don't think anyone goes 10 years in a row, with the family. A whole week but this super-compliant! Excellent treatment, old building, according to the location, well maintained. You go out and choose: train, metro or bus? all one block away! in front of the police commissioner, safe and quiet, total cleanliness and a lot of comfort, Wi-Fi at the entrance where you can snack and dine in flia. The truth? a sweetness to have found this hotel at the time, we no longer change it, our daughters went as girls and are already married! Esteban and Carla.

I was in the hotel just a couple of hours (the time I have to look for another hotel) as I'm not Bs As, he did not know the area, but the taxi driver when I download warned me not go out alone in this area. At that time I should have I gone but as already had book I decided to come and see, first (despite having reserve) made me wait 1 hour for the room, when finally gave me the room the truth never thought that it could a place be enabled, bed was the mattress sunk in the Center, the bathroom door was broken by moisture from the bathroom I guess, the soiled towels, all the furniture viejisimo and ruined. Really lousy! The only thing salvageable is the friendliness of the staff, shame that with that not enough! I charged the day despite having been only 2 hours, the truth would rather lose that money to spend a night there. I hope this so that other people who, like me, do not know the area, don't be fooled by the price and photos that are really far from the truth.

I've hosted me at this hotel several times. In fact, I hosted a couple of nights in May 2011. Hosting price has tripled in recent years, but I guess that it is because the inflation experienced by Argentina.
A building must have about 50 years as a minimum. Even the floor is made of wood. Rooms are not as comfortable as one would expect, but you can pay a TV (wired) and own bathroom with hot water.
During the night, there is silence and you can sleep quietly. The breakfast must go to seek it out, as the hotel does not offer it. There is an acceptable place to take a good breakfast a few meters from the hotel, heading towards Caseros Avenue; the place is called July 9. The train and subway station called Constitution is practically in front of the hotel, so travel to the Center (about 2.5 km) is easy (although this brief can be also on foot).
The hotel staff is very friendly and directed tourists with directions, points to visit, etc.
Truth, to be a Buenos Aires hotel, about 3 km from the Center and have their own bathroom with TV cable, the rate is still very accessible.

Basic and cheap, what more could you want.
