Love this place. Always perfect. Such a great place to stay, on the way in or out of the country. At the moment, it’s not so busy, but still a high level of service. Great to come and stay again.

We have stayed there many times, would love to stay again another time when visiting. Highly recommended and OMG, the best breakfasts ever, and loved the roof bar/restaurant. So much history. ♥️

I adore the elegant charm and warm hospitality of the Rex Hotel in Saigon. I've had many stays and the experience has always been exceptional. Looking forward to returning this coming August with my daughter!

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of 3 week honeymoon in Vietnam, the perfect end to a great holiday. We were upgraded to a suite on arrival which was fantastic, very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was very good, huge selection of Asian and western food, the rooftop bar and restaurant was a very nice, live band to entertain in the evening, a nice outdoor dining experience.

Not bad, with a touch of pomp, the hotel is in the middle. Of course, requires a little renovation in the rooms, but overall a decent hotel. And if I'm in the capital again, I'll choose him. The value for money suits quite well.

Booked 3 times and impressed by the professional staffs with smiles and goodnight chocolate & well-prepared bed for every night. Rooms are large but breakfast is just so so, pricey but under the expectation.

Nice hotel in an upmarket area, central in zone 1. Next to a number of different tourist locations and plenty of shops and restaurants surrounding you. The rooms are nice, clean and spacious but rather dated a real love of wood. Theres a small pool up on the 5th floor with the fitness centre overlooking it. The fitness centre had a good selection of machines and weights. Up a further level is a small adults only pool and a spa. A nice executive lounge serves free drinks 6-8pm and the roof bar has live music which is a nice atmosphere but rather loud. Opposite the hotel is a lovely restaurant sh garden well worth a trip. Will be staying at this hotel again.

Comfortable. Very good location. Attentive staff. Huge rooms. Breakfast very generous, tasty & losts of choices. Historic landmark worth a visit and feel how the time goes by.

The nearest hotel to the government. Shopping malls around. Nearby is a market. Local authorities often arrange receptions here. More suitable for business purposes.

Enjoyed a great long weekend stay here with my wife. The hotel is in an excellent location for exploring HCMC and you can walk to many places of interest right from the front door. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. I really liked the rooftop bar which has a wonderful view of the City Hall. Great for sunset photos! I would recommend upgrading to a suite so that you have an outside facing window and more space. It wasn't that much more expensive.

Plz understand my pool english Today I check in this hotel 13, may, 2018 Worst service I had never experienced. Even It cannot be happen 3star hotel At first I arrived 5min before check in time. They say me my does not prepared. And take me to the hotel cafe and give drink and told me wait just a moment I had a lot of coffee at morning. So I don't want to drink anything. Even I knew welcome drinks are free of charge. They didn't ask my favor. And I wait wait waaaaaaiiiiiiiiit More than 30 min I go to front desk and said what time do I enter the room? They check the some thing give me the roomkey. In 30 seconds. What a f**king. I recommend you don't stay this hotel.

I went to the cocktail bar at this hotel which is situated on the top floor and is uncovered in parts giving fantastic views of the colourful streets below. It was the Hotel used by American journalists during the Vietnam war for briefings. Good choice of cocktails if slightly pricey. There was a band playing and a relaxed feeling to the place. Enjoyed my visit there. Would recommend.

I have stayed at this hotel many times and normally it works out great. This time I am very disappointed how the hotel handle this situation. I had reserved this hotel for 10 days and was traveling to the hotel. In the middle of my travel, I got notice that my 5 weeks old is admitted to emergency. So I had to returned back to home and cancel my trip. Hotel refused to change or cancel the reservation beside the fact that I had no choice except to cancel this trip and I have stayed there multiple times (I am there regular customer). This shows the hotel management do not even care if your kid is in emergency or not and stand by taking your money and not accommodating in any way. I do not recommend anyone supporting or staying in this hotel. Very very disappointed!

Always one of my favorite places to dine especially on the rooftop dining room and the entertainment is always good but the view is fantastic absolutely loved the food and the service is very good I know year by the way they do speak very good English.

One of the most important colonial hotels of the then capital of South Vietnam Saigon.

Very good location. Shopping mall can be reached on foot. But the most important (in my personal opinion) — pillows in the room! They're gorgeous!

Poor tasting, very high-cost "Iced Tea" cocktail. Worse still the bar manager threatened to get "security" over our bill when we said it was wrong — seems the early 2-for-1 offer isn't as stated. Never had such an entrenched response from any manager. I will mail the hotel separately. So avoid this place as there are much nicer and relaxed bars elsewhere.

A very nice hotel with large clean rooms. Very nice and friendly staff. There is a nice rooftop terrace where you can sit and watch the hustle and bustle of the city.

Good Hotel downtown, quiet.

This is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are big and full of character with hard wood floors and furniture and pictures of old Saigon everywhere. The breakfast buffet is the best I have seen.

Restaurant: Too expensive for what is served. Disappointing Service (I am brought an ashtray already half full). The servers do not understand English well.

A reference hotel of the old Saigon. The hotel was recently renovated and built a new wing. For me it is a 5 * hotel as another without real cactère.

Very central location. Drinks expensive but great view from the rooftop bar. Staff friendly. Our room was on 5th floor near pool, dining room and rooftop bar. Only downside was shower did not get very hot. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay.

The location is excellent and the price is very good.

Location 10/10 but it’s a fast slide downhill from there. Perhaps the Rex Saigon was once the place to be, not anymore, it does however ooze potential for a radical update. Staff are friendly, helpful but much is lost in translation. Room comfortable to a good 3 Star standard. Breakfast buffet serves the usual full compliment in addition to Phò, but presentation is far from elegant. The Roof Top Bar is huge, stop for a beer or a cocktail although there’re many better places in this buzzing city. The pool and gym are tired like the rest of this grand old concrete rabbit warren.

It is part of the heritage of Vietnam a hotel that is full of history. A magical and mythical place. A very good welcome a terrace that overlooks the city and that cuts you noise and refreshes you. To be seen without moderation.

I’ve stayed at Rex Hotel twice now and loved it both times! During my most recent stay, I stayed in a suite! The suite had a very large bathroom, another smaller bathroom, a living area with couches and a bedroom. Rex Hotel had great customer service. It is centrally located. I highly recommend staying at Rex Hotel. Note that at the time of this review, there is a lot of construction because the metro train stations are being built and there is a stop right in front of Rex Hotel.

I attended a wedding reception — a luxury, lavish affair. The decor, food, service and organization was excellent. The event was really polished, precise and professional!

This hotel locates in a great location, right in the heart of the city. It's a bit dated though, but what can you expect from a historical building. Roof top restaurant offers nice view of the city. One of their restaurants offers nice live traditional musical instruments, weekend evenings only, I think.

As the Grand Dame of Saigon, Rex Hotel is the place to be in. Adjacent to the palatial City Hall, the hotel's Roof Top Garden is an observatory to the city's changing landscape over decades. One is immersed in the hotel's historical lineage in the Exectuive Wing, in the old world East-West luxuriance of the Governor's Suites and Executive Rooms. An authentic Indo-Chinese experience!

Awesome place with amazing breakfast set up, fantastic gym and pool and in a very handy location. Would most definitely stay here again and highly recommend!

Hotel very tired, staff not that friendly. Had a suite, however no view. The windows were fog glass when you opened them you were on the roof. Changed room only to overlook an all night working construction zone. Wouldn’t stay here again. The shower was horrible you needed to run the water for at least 10 minutes before any hot water came out.

One of the best hotels in all of Vietnam! Directly looking over Independence Plaza and the statue of Ho Chi Minh — the hotel is 5* and whilst some 5* hotels dont really live up to it, this one truly does. The staff, facilities and overall hotel is epic, its beautiful, its well kept and luxurious. The staff fall over eachother to help customers and do everything they can for you, the doormen seem to have a telepathic ability of having a taxi ready for every single guest exactly when they need it. Could not recommend this hotel more, the price is also well worth the money.

One of the best hotel in Saigon, in the heart of district one, the staff are very efficient and helpful, rooms are good breakfast too. The restaurant offer a great traditional show at dinner time. The bar with live band and a super view from the top. I would recommend it.

Stayed in the Governor Suite with Executive benefits well worth it. Lovely historical place. Roof Top Bar is excellent with fantastic views of the city and nightly entertainment. It is more expensive then street food and bars but you also have to look at where you are drinking and eating and understand the price difference. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Roof top pool lovely and water is cold and refreshing. Would definitely stay here again.

I am not talking about the hotel where I have not stayed but the bar on me roof. Nice without more.

Only went for happy hour (5-7pm, 2 for one cocktails) and a small bite. Prices are high by Vietnam standards, but service was well above average and the view of the Opera House and bustling plaza from the rooftop bar at dusk was awesome.

First visited here in May 2016 for my birthday after just moving to Saigon, 1 year later it's still my favorite dining experience so we went back again for another birthday celebration. With high expectations I was worried it wouldn't live up to my memory but it totally did and remains my favorite restaurant! For a real treat, in a beautiful setting, would highly recommend Rex Hotel.

Having traveled throughout Asia and experienced many lovely properties, this hotel is amongst the best. The staff could not do enough for us, and the location is exceptional. Walking distance to all the main sights. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for accommodation in Ho Chi Min.

I liked the hotel. The room is very modern by cons the only problem is the Internet connection. To have a good connection, you have to ask the receptionist. Otherwise the buffet was very good but not varied. At night, at the top, you can listen to good music.

Very bad service. The room itself is pretty and large besides the view. They told me I had a beautiful view of the city. No I didn't. I had a view of someone's apartment. Check — in was simple and fast but the check — out completely the opposite. I called them to control my room. They came after 2h. The location is great because is very central and good for shopping.

The rooftop was a pretty average place to eat. To be honest our food was terrible. View is ok go for that maybe. Best bet is to try some street food instead way cheaper than this 5 star hotel and hands down most likely to be fresher and tastier.

Great place to stay in the heart of the city. Pay extra and stay in executive suite with lounge benefits including drinks and food. Room was very large and it had the best bed I've slept in. Staff were excellent, always providing the best service. There was also a casino with free drinks while playing. Only bed thing was drink prices were expensive compared to the average. We will be back.

It's historic! If you can afford it ($ $ $) it's worth it!

I will not miss a stay in Saigon without spending a few nights at the Rex. This historic building exudes an atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone era worthy of the great palaces of the early 20th century. Certainly, it takes a few scouts to circulate without too much trouble in this immense building and you should not forget its key otherwise, it is like a trap that closes or a part of hide-and-seek that commits to find his/her companion/companion of Room.

We had ordered a room with balcony as it was available according to description. Unfortunately, there were no balconies to sit in, and the reservation was confirmed to us without any comment about it.
This should be kind of clearer.
Otherwise everything was OK.

The US Military used to hold daily briefings for the press here. It was good entertainment them. Now it' is a nice place to have a drink and watch the sunset.

Majestic Location by day and superb at night with a bright rotating dome. The superb interiors are very inviting with a very spacious and elegant hall. The plans, in the common areas, are suitable to host also large events and conferences of various kinds. The rooms are at the top of the category. Very welcoming the workers.

The view from the rooftop bar is great, but the music isn't interesting at all and the food is average.

If you are first time here in Saigon, or first time back to Vietnam and visiting Saigon, but shy of exploring or avoiding culture shock, this is the place to be because it's right on the center of Saigon. All within walking distance, this helps quickly retreat back to your room to cool off or tired of the noisy streets. I have been here at least five times, the longest stays was a full week. Rooms are clean, pricing high but you are paying for the services and location. Foods are average and expensive; you can always go out an eat all over town and do not skip the night restaurants a few blocks away at the Ben Thanh central market place. The hotel is safe and kids friendly. Please note if you are a foreign visitor and plan to take a local friend in for the night stay, it's not allowed. This is due to avoiding personal escort and it's not just hotel policy but government policy, I was told by the shift manager. Staffs are fair to friendly. Spa treatment is very pricy. You can book tours from the lobby. Taxies are right at the front entrance. Good luck.

Rex is a disaster. The location is good, Yes! But everything else is darkness! Hotel old. Now its repair, repair but something does not make the better. Private musty smell. Pool on the roof — the horror.
