Went to have the breakfast buffet at this hotel one morning. The staff is friendly and efficient. The dining area is quite large and the ambience takes you back in time. The variety of food was a bit underwhelming however. The quality of the food was alright but not great. There is a chef available to prepare eggs to your liking. All in all not a bad breakfast buffet to get your day started.

Labeled as a 4 star hotel but has a 3 star feeling to it. The rooms are modest but there are several design flaws. There is no swimming pool and the lobby and elevator can feel cramped at times.

This hotel is well placed close to the "action" of Saigon, and provides all the necessities, plus a little more, for a night's rest in the city. The breakfast was among the better I've experienced in Vietnam, having both Eastern and Western food options.

Not what I thought a 4 star hotel would look like and might be too expensive for what you get. The breakfast buffet is good and rooms are clean enough but the lobby/common areas are outdated, stairwells are very hot, shower/tub is awkwardly built, elevators only worked about half the time and when they do I hope you aren't claustrophobic. Also, if you end up getting a lower floor around 1-4, there might be bugs in your room. Not the scary kind, just tiny roach/centipede looking things. If you're going to spend $50-60 USD on a room there might better options in the area. This area has hundreds of hotels.

Very central area, good access to all hotspots in Saigon area. However the hotel is slightly noisy due to proximity to the square. Otherwise good hotel.

Actually I never comment about hotel or anything, but today I want to say something about this hotel, if you can fine another hotel, this hotel very old, elevator old, bed old, everything old, so don't waste your time and money here, there is much place that you can stay, and don't ever try they massage service! NEVER TRY! No manners at all, I just want to relax because I am very tired for 2 day on the way, they massage just OK for me, but after an hour I massage, the staff started to ask the tips, I think it's OK for me, so I said I would give her 200 vnd, she started to ask 700 vnd, she do nothing but want it for 700? W*f, and started saying many things, after finish I go and give her 200vnd, you know what she do? She tell other staff that I just give her 200vnd, in that time actually I want to give her 500 with my hand, but that's not my style very dissapointed!, this is what happens on me in Oscar Saigon Hotel, Never try to stay or massage here!

Four Star Hotel Maintains the Star Rating **** We checked into Oscar Saigon Hotel around 1430 on 19th January 2018 after arriving from Hue. There was a bouquet of flowers at the reception that warmed my heart. The reception was quick, well-mannered and attentive. Since we had booked the rooms earlier the rooms had already been allocated. My room was on the 8th floor. The outside view of course is what you would expect from a hotel situated at the centre of the city. Being on the 8th floor, I believe, reduced the noise considerably. The rooms were clean and reasonably spacious. Bedding and towels were spotless. The bathroom too was sparkling. There was free Wi-Fi, fridge, kettle, hair dryer, tv, a safe and all that you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The hotel has a jewellery shop. It is also equipped with a fitness centre. It is centrally situated with a major market only 10 minutes away. The Notre-Dame Cathedral as well as the famous old post office is within easy walking distance. There are many restaurants around, Chinese, Vietnamese and even Indian. On the evening of Saturday 20th January, there was a lot of merriment at the square in front of the hotel with people dancing and enjoying themselves. I was worried that we would not be able to sleep due to the outside noise. However at 2300 hours it became absolutely quiet. When I got up in the night however, I could hear cleaners at work presumably cleaning up the mess left behind by the joyous crowd!

Located at the heart of the city, facing the walking street Nguyen Hue, the hotel was good for its location. It did not look that nice from outside, but the interior decoration was quite good. Staff were friendly, ; buffet breakfast. Set lunch were offered to even those who did not stay in the hotel too, with a reasonable price. You might want to enter here for lunch if you think restaurants around are expensive.

While staff are friendly and willing to help the hotel is old and needs renovation. My worst was the bed, which was hard and sagging at the centre. They moved us to another room which although better was not much different. New beds are needed.

Nice hotel in the heart of Saigon… The food in the hotel restaurant is very decent with a rich choice of dishes.

Like many stated, it's a dated hotel that looks like a 2-3 star hotel for which you are paying 4-star prices for. At one time I'm sure this hotel was the fanciest one on the block and despite the claim that they've done recent remodeling, it still doesn't look like it. Their breakfast buffet is likely the best feature about them. They have fitness center and spa but I didn't use it and again it's likely outdated. The beds were hard, furniture antique looking, bathroom was overall clean but could be improved with renewed cosmetic details. Rooms were poorly sound proofed, we could hear clearly when the cleaning cart comes around and it doesn't help that they were also doing some construction on our floor. Would stay again but only if the price is more budget-friendly.

Great location. If you have window the view is ' breathtaking (can ' happen to have also room ' Murata ', no window! )
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The clerk at the luggage delivery is of a special sympathy!
Breakfast on the 15th floor. Many varieties of local and international foods.
Only drawback: The room safe, we went 2 times in this hotel and after closing the key safe… I managed to reopen it with the tip of the belt buckle…!
For the rest… all great, I recommend it.

Once upon a time there was likely a well presented clean 4 star hotel, sadly now it is very dated and worn from the tired look in the eyes of the staff to the scuffed faded carpet in the halls. Booked this hotel on Agoda as it presented itself as a 4 star establishment however do not be fooled by the website or glowing reviews is anything but. The only saving grace is the hotels location in district 1 however it does not make up for the presentation or lack of.

Reasonable price and at the heart of the city with a lot of night life. Night time hotel service definitely need improvement that's the least to say. Day time service seems to be some what ok. The reason I gave three star based on service for the 4-star hotel.

Very well located, easy walk to many good spots & on the pedestrian mall — don't be li.
Ulladulla into a false sense of security about this as you still need to cross the road to get onto the pedestrian mall, lol.
Possibility time for a re vamp but then the price would go up.

The only thing I liked with this hotel is the very central adress. The internet was very bad. Noicy ventilationssystem humming all night. Aircon OK. No breakfast. Massage in SPA department was no real massage, but rather a camuflage for other activites which I guess some men will find OK. But not me. I have a girl. I do not have any STD, and I like to keep it that way. I needed proper massage for a bad shoulder. Not possible here. No brakefast, but I guess that is reflected in price. If you shal go directly from this hotel to airport you need a lot of time hen it is rushhour. At least one hour.

Strategic place to stay if we want to go around HCMC. The room is almost too old, but other thing is standard not too bad to stay there.

The Oscar Saigon is well situated in District 1 of HCMC. It fronts to NGUYEN Hue pedestrian walkway which goes all the way down to the Saigon river.
The Hotel is very comfortable but you must ensure you ask for a window-room as most westerners prefer that.
It is very affordable especially for its location and has recently had a refit.
The breakfast provides for all people and the restaurant has a wonderful view.
I have been there 3 times now and I intend to visit again next year.

Clean rooms and excellent free Wi-Fi that is fast. Breakfast is very basic and the rooms are not very soundproofed.

Eat buffer as dinner here. The shells are delicious. Other foods are so-so. The dessert is great.

Went to check in and was told I needed to pay more. Desk clerk tried calling Agoda with my booking number and couldn't even enter it correctly. Gave me the phone to do it. I honestly did not want to even touch the phone. Ir was almost black covered with grime and dirt. They just spoke with manager. When I asked to speak with her they said she's been in meetings and will be rest of afternoon. Yeah Right. This was 3 pm on a Saturday. Crooks.

One of the worst hotels I've stayed at in my life. I had a problem with their staff where they offered me a service for free, and ended up charging me $30 on my final bill. Never gave me any indication of a charge until then. Promised me even when I double checked that it would not be charged for. When I went to checkout the manager wouldn't even see me to discuss this problem. Classy. The room itself was alright, but the blankets were STILL dirty (piles of someones hair on the it was the clue) from the previous occupants. Seems housekeeping only changed the sheets and left the dirty pillow cases and blankets there. Classy. Had to have those changed. I will say the breakfast good though. Mediocre facilities. Mediocre hospitality. An upsetting stay. I've stayed a 12 different hotels while I was in Vietnam. From $4 per to $100 per night. Oscar was the single worst. Don't waste your money on an overpriced tourist hotel while there are $15 smaller hotels right down the street that will offer you an OUTSTANDING accommodation.
