Simply lovely. It is the most interesting and effective mix of modern and antique decor. Beds, pillows and linens are quality. We thoroughly enjoyed all food offerings and the proprietors provided top notch service, going above and beyond in their attentiveness. Look forward to returning!

I love this place! The service is friendly and the food is fresh and delicious. They were actually out in the lovely garden picking herbs and flowers to flavor, garnish, and decorate the plates with moments before serving. The food was superb and the atmosphere was delightful!

It is new and it is good! This is a small very well done boutique hotel and restaurant: smart and casual. The menu is limited but interesting and extremely well put together and prepared. The dining space shows the owners' interest in design and art and this follows through to the food and it's presentation and, thank goodness, taste. It's menu is a small step away from the standard Uruguayan meat main menu and is perfect for lunch especially. There is a beautiful outdoor garden in summer as well. Prices are moderate in line with the quality and ingredients. Deserts are interesting as is the drinks and wine list. The owners obviously wanted to bring something different to Montevideo and they have: it feels like a small in in France or the UK. Well worth a nice drive along the Rambla to Carrasco!

Had a lovely tea at the Alquimista with a friend. The pastries were delicious and the coffee was good. We ate in the garden which was absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended.

A beautifully comfortable boutique hotel! Very personal service, delicious meals and a lovely setting just two minutes walk from the sandy beach. Situated in an upmarket suburb of Montevideo — the only downside is the rush hour traffic delays getting into town.

This place will warm your heart and your stomach. From its cozy ambience to its quaint style it serves up the best blend. The food is delicious and the attention to detail can be seen in its preparation right up to its presentation. The hotpot del Daymán a lamb dish was succulent and delicious for a winter lunch. The cocktails and soft drinks were refreshing. The staff was courteous and polite and the owners were simply a delight. All these beautiful elements added up to make one great lunch. If you are headed for tea or lunch this is the place to be. Thanks Mark and Carolina! Keep up the awesome work. Will be back soon.
