A tale of bed bugs. I checked into post house on Thursday, September 26th. On the evening of September 29th, I felt a sudden urge to itch my legs. I looked down and began finding little welts up and down both of my legs. I've never seen these welts before. Growing up in Portland, Oregon (a city in the middle of the forest) spiders and mosquitoes are inevitable. These do not look like spider bites or mosquito bites. Counting now, I have over 15 welts on my legs. From Healthline. Com: "If a bedbug bites your skin, you won’t feel it right away because the bugs excrete a tiny amount of anesthetic before feeding on people. It can sometimes take a few days for symptoms of bed bug bites to develop. Bedbug bites often become noticeably red and swollen. Multiple bites may appear in a line or cluster in a small area of your body. The bites tend to be itchy. They may cause a burning sensation. " My bed was in the 10 person dorm. Top bunk, nearest to the window on the right (when facing the room from the door). I try hard to recall the number, I believe it was bed One of the hostel employees suggested that they could be from my previous hostel stay. At my previous hostel, I slept for 1 week in the same bed before coming to post house. No welts. I've spent over 200 nights in various hostels around Europe. Never before have I experienced this. I saw someone check in the night I noticed/reported this to the hostel worker.
