Great hotel and location, only 10 to 15 minutes walk from the train station. Hotel is located a couple of minutes from the town centre and close to all the shops and attractions in York. Rooms are nice and comfortable, breakfast is buffet and okay. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to York.

We arrived at 9 in the morning and was able to leave our bags and park the car. Greeted by very friendly staff who were very helpful. Good size clean room with a double and single bed. Lovely hot breakfast and other choices for breakfast. Very clean hotel and in a central location for York.

The room was lovely, very spacious. Very good bathroom facilities with bath and shower. Breakfast was all you can a very tasty! Staff were friendly.

Very nice hotel, had great service and all the staff I've spoke to have been friendly. Had a room with a nice view of the river Ouse, with the Minster in the background. Hotel is situated within the York walls and only a two minute walk away from all the good shops York has to offer. The only down side, and this is through no fault of the hotel, but there is a very rowdy night club on the opposite side of the river. Having to open the window on a warm night we had to deal with drunken yobs shouting into the early hours.

Once again another fabulous stay at this little gem of a hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful 3 bedded room overlooking river. Breakfast excellent. The location is also excellent close to centre and all sites. Looking forward to our next visit. Can’t reccomend this hotel enough.

Very clean and relaxing hotel, really good choice of food for breakfasts and evening meals, has a really comfortable lounge with lovely views over the river and views of the city. Room's are good size very clean and well maintained some have river and city views. Good size and secure carpark. Well laid out reception with very polite and helpful staff. Location in the city is superb for site seeing.

Really lovely overnight stay. Friendly staff, room was clean and comfortable, free Wi-Fi, breakfast was good.

My second visit to York and second time at Queens Hotel. Great location by the river, close to town and the main attractions, could see York minster from my room. Hotel has been newly refurbished, rooms clean food good so can recommend, would use again!

Attended with a Groupon voucher over a two day stay. The hotel is great value and close to all the attractions in York. We were lucky to have a room overlooking the river with great views. Really clean and comfortable room and great breakfast. Loved it.

Bit worn, but pleasant staff. Room was nice with a great view over the river. Location is ideal for town centre and especially the night life as there are some great bars in York. Only downside was being near bars you could still here revellers at 3.30am. Breakfast very good sausages to die for!

Booked a room with river view foe our anniversary did not get it was placed with no view, king size mattress on double bed base so hung over edges, shower did not get hot and shower head fell, off bed was awful to sleep in very lumpy and pillows like bricks hardly slept and bit we did get was woken with neck ache due to been 7 month pregnant would have like it to be comphy. Breakfast was not oriental but was a brioche bread bun, cerial in children's mini boxes and fried breakfast bacon was like leather, eggs like runny water fried bread stale for £137 for 1 night was disgusting and will not be returning.

Staff are friendly and entertain a good laugh. Faultless service. If I was a visitor to York this hotel would be top of my list to stay at.

Super great location for the price. I believe I paid roughly $90 USD. It's right by the water and right across the water are most local attractions within walking distance. If you're into pubs you are directly across the water from Kings Arms, the famous pub that floods annually. The staff were all friendly and there's a breakfast buffet included, which smelt amazing but I did not have time to enjoy. The rooms could be considered a little dated but nothing to really mark down and it looked like they were doing some renovations.

Food great, rooms good, bathroom excellent. Only negative is that there is only one plug socket, not good for 3 person room. Located in a great area a short walk from the main tourist attractions.

Great position for seeing York must get a river view room its little dated pleasant helpful staff would go their again place for parking under the hotel.

Stayed quite a few times and always been lovely, brought my grandsons and they love the breakfast, staying at the cloisters apartments they are nice also.

Pleasant hotel. Nice clean room worth the higher rate for the river view, all be it be prepared for some noise from punters in the riverside pubs on the opp side of the river. All in all, no issues to raise… would stay there again as very handy central location in the city.

The hotel had a great, central location on the river and the staff were both friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable but the toiletries in the bathroom were limited. Also, the room was hot and we couldn't see any thermostat — the rooms were advertised as temperature controlled. However, we got the room at a good rate which included a full and tasty breakfast. I'd stay here again as it was definitely a well located and reasonably priced base for exploring York.

Good hotel. Recently renovated rooms. The sink with the separation of hot and cold water is not very comfortable. Adjacent to the centre and the station within easy walking distance.

Rude staff. Dated décor. Breakfast was disgusting, scrambled eggs had extra shell in them. No after hours bar for residents.

Friendly staff, great view looking out on the canal. Clean room. Only thing was no room service but overall great as we were out most of the time. Would defiantly come back!

Only one plug socket free for use, which made my trip for business very very tricky. Bedside tables not secured to wall, both moved freely in more directions than they shouldn't. Room was at street level with a window that did little to block any noise. No sealant between wall and floor of bathroom meaning any water spilled goes under the wall into the living room. Would not recommend.

Located along the river, with a scenic view of Ousebridge. It is only a five to ten minute walk from most of the best attractions in the city. The hotel is fairly new, being build in 2000. The rooms are quite spacious, with all the facilities you'd expect, kettle, TV, hairdryer. There is even free Wi-Fi, which is an added bonus, as many other hotels charge a fee for Internet access. The restaurant is pleasant with a river view balcony. The food is of a good quality, and portions are ample. Breakfast was included with our room, and was very good, setting us up for the day. Continental and Full English is available, as well as cereals and juices, teas and coffees. The hotel also caters for vegetarian or wheat/dairy intolerance. There is a small bar, which seems to stock most alcohol choices, but if you are looking to spend the evening drinking & socialising, there are many pubs/clubs nearby. Prices at the bar are slightly higher than can be found elsewhere, but affordable. All the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a car park under the hotel, which has a steel security shutter. Though there are warnings that on occasions it does flood, but so does everything in York. Overall, a very good choice if staying in York.

Just had a lovely mid-week break in York, the wife and I booked the very spacious Superior Room (River View) of The Queens Hotel, very clean and friendly atmosphere, Breakfast was one of the very few that arrive at your table actually hot, in most Hotels they are dried out in the "hot plate" but, the Queens presented a well proportioned Full English, ideally situated within a short walking distance to York Center this Hotel flows well alongside the River Ouse and on occasion becomes part of the River offering dramatic views of flooded embankments, all the usual stuff some people make an effort to complain about was not evident, we have stayed at other Hotels in this baeutiful City that have been placed higher up the rankings but, I can honestly say they just do not compare with the excellent service and value for money we experienced at The Queens, only one irrelevant negative, the Lobby area and first impression does not do the Hotel justice. Will visit again.

We spent one night here. It was ok, the best part was being so close, walking distance to the town and sites. The food wasn't very good, but the front desk gals were very nice and friendly and helpful. We got a room at the roof level but it was ok, we could kind of see the river from our window. It was clean.

Disgusting walls paper thin a load of drunks came in approx. 1230a. M argueing and shouting rang reception no reply went down to reception to be told they had been up stairs to look and heard nothing then took another 45mins for him to go back up stairs to tell them to calm down must point out they guy on reception also stank of alcohol really badly not impressed at all.

We found our experience with this hotel to be unpleasant. The food was poor, Very poor, the restaurant manager was rude and the hotel is over priced. Avoid this one.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and overall we had a great time. The breakfast was a little disappionting as it buffet stay and was a little cold. The room while alittle out dated style wise was all ways clean and tidy, we had one of the six smokeing rooms. The staff both on reception and in the resturant/bar were friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel is in a grea location and the prefect for a veiw of the river which was in flood at the time of our visit, therefore the hotel car park wich is under the hotel was flooded however another car park was provided which was not to far from the hotel. 5 stars.

Staff were polite and efficient, the room was clean and well-appointed, and the food was excellent. I'd happily stay here again.
