This is a great place to stay, very close to the town centre and Peasholme Park. Greeted with cuppa and homemade cakes on arrival and in your room too. The owners Debbie and Jason can’t do enough for their guests and cater for all dietary requirements. Breakfast is superb with a big menu to choose from. Certainly worth a visit … rated in top 10% of places to stay in Scarborough.

What can I say about this place just come off a great weekend Debbie and Jason are just great this was our second stay and you are always welcomed with a smile and the odd giggle breakfasts are always a great way to start your day off would recommend staying here great value for your money and forgot about Debbie's cupcakes they are to die for.

We have just returned from a 2 day Easter break staying here at the Kensington Guesthouse. It has been Just lovely. Debbie and Jason are such lovely people and nothing was too much trouble for them. Everything during our stay was perfect, from the comfy suite we had for our room to the tasty and plentiful breakfast. This really is a gem of a place and we were so pleased to have found it. We would highly recommend the Kensington to anyone. Thank you so much Debbie and Jason, keep doing what you are doing. All the very best for the coming season. We will definitely be returning! The Kensington is a little gem from arrival to departure, Tea and home baked cakes on arrival and in the room during our stay. We cannot fault anything. The breakfast is perfect with plenty of choices. The rooms are spotless as are the beds which are super comfortable, ensuite large shower room. Hosts couldn't do enough for their guests and are very knowledgeable of the surrounding area. Definitely will be booking again.

Stayed here for one night on Tuesday whilst in Scarborough to see Marti Pellow in concert at the spa theatre. Debbie and Jason were wonderful hosts, absolutely lovely people. Warm homely welcome, room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Homemade cupcakes were delightful and a lovely touch, slept really well. Breakfast was awesome, Debbie had great local knowledge and a genuine love of the area. Really good stay, will return and would highly recommend x.

A warm welcome awaits you and genial hosts Jason and Debbie make sure you are well looked after. Debbie makes delicious cupcakes and Jason cooks a wonderful breakfast. The rooms are bright and spacious with a very comfortable bed, ensuring a good nights sleep. On-street parking (a permit is provided) and lovely restaurants and Peasholm Park only a short distance away, makes a stay at the Kensington ideal.

We had the best weekend stay here literally a 5 minute walk to the open air theatre, got the best welcome with a cuppa Barnsley brew and cupcake on arrival lovely chat and able to check in early. Bed was so comfy and spacious room we wanted for nothing, breakfast was delicious and home made compots yummy 😋 even free nuts to take to the park for the squirrels can’t wait to return next year.

A very warm welcome awaits at the Kensington from Debbie and Jason, with a pot of Barnsley Brew and fabulous homemade cupcakes on arrival. There was lots of extra special little touches, which are best left as surprises! We had the longest "lie in" as the bed was so comfortable with beautiful bed linen, and the breakfast is possibly the best weve ever had! We highly recommend this lovely guest house!

So sorry to be going home today, we have both had a fantastic stay here at the Kensington both Jason and Debbie have been excellent hosts and couldn’t do enough for us. Thoroughly recommend it and will definitely be back, breakfast was outstanding plus the cupcakes thank you.

We ordered a afternoon tea to takeaway today and I have to say it was the best afternoon tea I have ever had such value for money-all freshly made with home made quiche sandwiches with lots of filling pork pie sausage rolls crisps drink and best of all home made cup cakes and home made scones with jam what could be better.

Stayed with these lovely people Debbie and Jason for a short break. Was so relaxing in fab surroundings. The food was fantastic and the cup cakes was even better. Thankyou. We will be back. Steve and Michelle.

My wife and I stayed here for a few days during the Gold Cup bike racing. We love it here and will be back. Debbie and Jason are lovely hosts and the breakfast & hospitality are top notch. The evening meal we had was delicious and very good value. The bed is so comfy too. Would highly recommend.

Spent my first week at the Kensington Guest house and have felt so welcome. Debbie and Jason are brilliant hosts and so invested in each guest having the best experience of both the Kensington and Scarborough as a whole. The fresh breakfast and homemade sweet treats are just delicious! Couldn’t recommend them more.

The afternoon tea box was AMAZING. It was packed full of a huge variety of homemade savoury and sweet treats (individually catered to our dietary requirements). It became a movable feast as we started it at lunchtime on the beach, continued it at various stopping points along the seafront and we were still going strong at suppertime.

Spent some of christmas and our Valentines weekend at the Kensington this year. They treat their guests so well, themed welcome hampers with cupcakes and really nice coffee by the kettle. They do evening meals and the breakfast choice is massive, there's still ones I haven't tried but I'll definitely stop there again so I'll have chance to try some more.

Wonderful time in Scarborough with Debbie and Jason. Great hosts and breakfast was fantastic. Had one of the smaller bedrooms but was good value for money. Recommended.

Wonderful 2 night stay, Debbie & Jason were excellent hosts and the beds super comfy.
There is a great choice of breakfast foods including fantastic vegetarian sausages. The guest house is only a short walk from the beach and in a great location. I will definitely be returning!

Highlights: such welcoming hosts who couldn't do enough for their guests; the best selection of breakfasts ever (veggie and vegan choices were great! ) ; a beautiful Xmas hamper and tasty cupcakes on arrival; a fab choice of Barnsley coffee and tea bags in the room; current recommendations for day activities, and, of course, a clean, comfy, spacious and well equipped room.

Wonderful warm welcome on arrival from the hosts Jason and Debbie. Rooms were spotless, warm and comfortable. Easy access to all areas of Scarborough. My Husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during the Scarborough Gold Cup bike racing. The room was clean, tidy and the bed was comfy. In our room, there was free Wi-Fi, freeview TV with DVD and an ensuite too. Also, there were facilities to make hot drinks with many choices of tea, coffee and hot chocolate with homemade cakes every day too — such a lovely touch. The breakfast was AMAZING — so much choice. The orange juice was lovely and the pot of tea made 4 cups. We would recommend the Kensington to anyone staying in Scarborough and hope to stay here ourselves again next year. Thank you Debbie & Jason for your hospitality and truly scrumptious breakfast.

From the moment you check in to the moment you check out you can be certain of the best welcome and best service ever. Both hosts are so friendly and go above and beyond to ensure you have a fantastic stay with them. The food is amazing. The choice of breakfasts is outstanding. Amazing place to stay. Debbie and Jason made it feel like home. Food was excellent, they went out of their way to help us. They surprised us with a card and some chocolate for our anniversary and the breakfast was lush.

Really enjoyed my time at The Kensington Guesthouse. The rooms are big but cosy, the beds comfy, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and the vegetarian food options were plentiful and delicious!

A very nice place located a few minutes walking from the North Bay, train station and Scarborough centre. Room clean, tidy and the breakfast is superb. Joy and John are lovely hosts always helpful. Thanks again for everything and especially for the coffee :) Highly suggested.

My Husband and I stayed here for 4 days and absolutely loved it. The room was clean, tidy and the bed was so comfy. Free Wi-Fi and freeview TV with our own ensuite too. In our room there were facilities to make hot drinks with many choices of different types of tea, coffee, latte and hot chocolate with home made cakes every day too. Such a lovely touch. A pet and child free guest house which made it a quiet experience, just how we like it. You'd think it couldn't get any better, but it did. The choice of breakfast was AMAZING — so much choice. We chose cereal, toast and a full English; but there is so much more choice than this. The orange juice was lovely and the pot of tea you're served made 4 cups. We will recommend the Kensington and if we ever visit Scarborough again, we know where we are staying. Thank you both for making our stay a wonderful experience.

A nice frendly couple well informed about places to visit in Scarborough we stayed two nights in a clean comfortable room with ensuite and sitting room. The cakes were a nice touch wished we could have stayed longer thanks John and Joy see you again xxx.

This was a lovely comfortable experience, Joy and John are very attentive and informative re local attractions and eating places, however their own breakfasts are amazing and you have the most choice I have ever seen from any where I've stayed! Home baking every day and attention to detail for special diets faultless. I would stay here again.

John and Joy are marvellous hosts and it felt like we'd shared their home rather than a place of business. The breakfasts were lovely and plentiful, the freshly baked cakes or biscuits provided each day were extremely moreish and the room we had was tastefully furnished. It wasn't too far to walk to anywhere, (although a bit hilly), and the beaches were beautiful. Thank you for a very enjoyable break x.
