We got back from a 3 night stay there yesterday, stayed in room 4 which was beautiful, clean and spotless. Comfy bed and plenty of storage for clothes. Extra surprise was a mini fridge so was able to store water pop food etc for our stay. Covid safe all your necessities are in a box on your bed all clean and in wrappers even the remote control. Owner is there if needed but otherwise he leaves you to enjoy your holiday. Highly recommend staying here.

The room we had was so beautiful. We had teabags, coffee and hot chocolate waiting for us in our rooms next to the kettles. We had a TV and a mini fridge. We had everything we needed for our weekend away. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We appreciated the parking permit, fridge and fresh milk. Wi-Fi and Smart TV were great too. We had a very comfortable stay and loved our first visit to Whitby.

Great really friendly Emma is wonderful, gave us a great welcome even though we was early. They texted asking time arrival and all the information you would need. Great hi place near the sea easy walk to the centre of whitby. Room is clean and tidy nice decor all you need is in the hallway cupboard from wine glasses to a fridge with milk would 100% recommend. The parking is great with the permit which is a bonus would definitely stay here again one of the best.

We arrived home today after spending the weekend here. On arrival we were met by the owner who was very friendly and carried our bag to our room. We had room 4 on the 2nd floor. It was lovely, clean and spacious. We would definitely recommend this guest house and will certainly stay again.

Hi. We have just stayed for 2 nghts. Great place to stay its clean tidy and a great location. It's a quite rd easy parking. 1 minute walk to the sea front. 10 mins walk to the town. Can't wait to return.

Lovely house, spotlessly clean, beautiful bedding and in a great position.
Parking permits were supplied free of charge and it was easy to find a space.
There is no breakfast on site, plenty of places close by.
Will stay here again!

Great place to stay & most things in walking distance.

Well kept and well run. Paid an expensive fee to get in and they had put away a lot of things to prepare for filming, but the atmosphere with its clear Elizabethan designs really captures the imagination. The restaurant has so-so food and slightly too dear so if you want to save a bit, have coffee and sweet snack instead of an entire meal — — — it was humid weather when we visited and the side salads were not at their freshest.

Beautiful room very welcoming hosts, we stayed in room 1 with the balcony definitely worth it perfect view. We will be going back.

Brilliant guest house, immaculate throught and great hosts. Good size rooms and lovely choice breakfast. The location is perfect, brisk walk to the town center and lots of parking. Highly recomended.

Have stayed with Emma and david before, always friendly and accommodating. Breakfasts are spot on and the location is just right for a stroll down to the beach.

This our second year staying at The Melrose as the welcome was as warm as always, on our arrival we had a flat tyre and Dave rang around local tyre and battery garages to get quotes and availability! We were so very grateful for all of his help! Above and beyond been helpful! Breakfast are lovely and very filling and the whole guest house is immaculate! Another enjoyable break with this lovely couple Thankyou xx.

Emma and Dave are the best hosts you will ever meet the rooms are spotless the breakfast is brilliant all the rooms are tastefully decorated you will not be disappointed easy to park your car.

Lovely B & B. This is our third stay here. Rooms nicely decorated and very clean. It's approx 10mins walk to the town which means parking isn't an issue. Breakfast is fantastic. Emma is helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Definitely recommended.

Upon arrival we were greeted by David who swiftly sorted our parking permits and carried our luggage to our room. While we settled in he brought us a hot drink and gave us directions to town. Our room (no 6) was very well appointed with nice solid wood furniture, an old fireplace and a good tv. The bathroom is of a high standard and clean. There is pleanty of hot water on hand. The tea/coffee tray is replenished daily. The bedding was changed mid way through our stay (5… nights). Breakfast — Emma always greeted us with a smile and a good morning for breakfast, full yorkshire, fresh kippers, ceral etc, again very good quailty which defines this family run b&b. Very good location and if we ever find ourselves in Whitby again, this b&b will be first on our list.

An excellent B&B, great rooms walking distace from the beach and a warm welcome. Recommended.
