Our 5th stay here. We love this guest house. Lovely rooms, spotlessly clean. Watty and Michaela are lovely hosts. The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes walk to the Harbour. Having breakfast in our room is our favourite part.

Lovely hosts, great rooms so comfortable and spotlessly clean. Very close to the shops and the sights. Minutes away from the harbour. Parking on site so no need to worry about your car. The breakfast is wonderful. Will be sure to recommend and also return here.

I cannot fault a single thing about this guesthouse. The owners are extremely welcoming and I felt comfortable as soon as I stepped through the door. They were also very helpful whenever we asked questions and helped us decide what to do each day. The room itself was clean, tidy and had everything expected. I thought the breakfast was one of the best things of the stay, amazing value for money! Thankyou for the wonderful stay, I would highly recommend the guesthouse and will be visiting again in the summer:)

Stayed here a couple of years ago. Friendly staff nothing to much trouble. Great breakfast. Bonus car parking as only a 15min walk from Whitby.

I try and go there once a year. Watty and Michaela are excellent hosts, the rooms are spacious and spotless. Ideally located just a short walk away from the centre.

A good standard B&b. Rooms adequate. Bit tricky to get hold of the owners if you’re not having breakfast. Had to pay cash as they had no card machine.

We booked a double room with king size bed — not sure if it was the budget room or not, but it didn't say anything on the booking site. We ended up in one of the rooftop rooms and were a bit surprised that the shower and sink were literally part of the room. The toilet was separated by a door, but very small (at least for my 190cm body) and without ventilation. Anyway, it didn't look like anything we saw on the Internet. The shower worked well, the bed was fairly comfortable. The position of the little TV set was quite awkward on top the closet — either you had to sit on the chairs at the far away table or rearrange your position in the bed plus the TV in order to see a picture. The cleanliness was OK, but not if you accidentally looked in the wrong places (like on top of the closet). I didn't have breakfast, so I can't say anything about it. Parking is possible but, as already mentioned by others, a bit tight and not perfect if you're aiming for many day trips with your car. Location is great, as it is only a short walk to the town centre. We have seen many B&Bs across the country over the last years and I must say this one is not above standard.

Cant fault the cleanliness of Rylestoen Mere it was immaculate with lovely fluffy white towels and nice bedding. We felt a little let down by the Hosts who we rarely saw only briefly on checking in delivering breakfast and when leaving. Breakfast was ok-ish though I was dissapointed to still find beans under my tomatoes (i hate the things) when I had stated no beans im sure the same ladel was used to dish both up so it kind of put me off but ordered smoked haddock the next day which was nice. Very dissapointed on leaving to find the price had gone up by £40 We booked direct with Rylestone and was quoted £162 for a 3 night stay (once when booking and again 4 days before when I rang to double check price and that we were still booked in) so we were quite shocked to find out what should of been £182 inc 2 days breakfasts for 2 (£20) jumped up to £227 inc 2 days breakfast for 2 (£20) and had to pop to the cash machine to get some more cash out. Also felt Hosts were not very accomadating as we ask if we could leave the car for an extra hour after checking out at 10am as I had seen a coat I wanted in a nearby shop they didnt have my size but told me new stock would be in sun at 10.

Comfortable but don't go for budget, other rooms are lovely. There is parking garage outside.

Within 5 mins walking distance of Whitby centre. But, limited and tricky off-street parking. Rooms well appointed and clean with en-suite. Breakfast provided in your room for extra.

Me and my partner spent two nights here over Valentine's — it was absolutely perfect. We arrived to our room with two stem roses, which was unexpected and a beautiful surprise. Watty and his wife are incredible hosts and we will come back here if we were ever in Whitby again. Do yourself a favor and book a room here! Also the big breakfast for £5 are such a great deal and add to the experience!

Lovely people, excellent breakfast with plenty of choice, spacious room with a four poster bed and en-suite and very clean. Superb central location.

Stayed there for 2 nights and it was beautiful. The rooms are amazing for the price the couple who owned the place were lovely and helpful we had off road parking included which was a massive bonus, 5 mins walk to the harbour and the breakfast was top notch. We will definitely be staying there again.

Just stayed here for four nights for our anniversary. Room was lovely, clean and huge, like a suite. Delicious breakfasts every morning with lots of choice. I recommend the smoked haddock and salmon, beautiful!. The hosts are friendly, helpful and a mind of information about places to see and eat in Whitby. Our second visit here and can't wait to go back. Thanks again xx.

Lovely friendly couple met us on arrival. Showed us up to a very comfortable double room. Spotlessly clean. Very small walk into whitby centre only a couple of minutes. Great day and night out and what can I say about the beautiful full English breakfast brought up to our room the next morning it was gorgeous. Thank you Wally and Michaela. Will be back soon.
