We have stayed at the Chiltern many times and always receive a warm welcome from John and Jools. Our room was lovely and clean with a comfortable king-size bed. There was a generous hospitality tray, and some toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfast was optional but we chose to have the full English, excellent as usual. We have already booked for next year — circumstances permitting!

A little gem. Cosy very comfortable room spotlessly clean. Lovely friendly hosts and a fabulous breakfast with plenty of choice made a perfect Whitby break.

Whitby is an awesome place to visit, full of quaint places to explore and amazing photo opportunities. Chiltern Guest House is a great central location where you can walk in minutes to everything. My room was very comfy and the whole guest house had a very homely feel, it was a pleasure to stay there. Breakfast was huge! and the black pudding was the best I've ever had. Recommend these lovely people and their gorgeous guest house to anybody who wants to feel at home when they stay away.

Fantastic place to stay in Whitby. Was made to feel so welcome, Jools and John and Cassie are very kind and knowledgeable with local hotspots, got tips on where to go. Can't praise them highly enough, breakfast was superb everyday, bed was comfy, super clean modern room. Cannot wait to come back when we get a chance! Thank you once again, keep up the great work.

Just returned from a two night stay… and from the moment you walk through the door you are made to feel welcome by the owner. Who told us all about the area and told us which way to go if you just wanted a walk or a visit to the shops… the rooms are tidy and are pretty much what you would expect from a standard BnB room with ensuite facilities… it has nice comfy beds … the views arnt amazing though but the owner did say this when we booked in which she explained in a nice pleasant and upfront manner… breakfast times are split into 2 serving times so its not overly busy,. The breakfast meal itself was plentyful and a whost of options are open to appease a range of people's appetites… would definetly recommend and would stay again…

We stayed here for one night and from the warm welcome we had from Jools when we arrived to when we said goodbye our experience at the Chiltern Guest House was fabulous. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was amazing with lovely fluffy towels to use and tea and coffee available. Breakfast was everything you could want it to be and plenty of it served quickly and by a very friendly lady. We would certainly recommend this guest house and the only negative for us was that we only stayed one night in this lovely place, cheers guys Jane and Paul Cardiff x.

Super long weekend spent in Whitby and three nights at the Chiltern Guest House. Jules and John are lovely hosts as were the girls who served at breakfast. Breakfast was great, plenty of choice. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in Whitby. I'm sure we will return.

Lovely place to stay, stayed for a few or so days. I loved every second of it!
The people were nice and we had a warm welcome and the place was amazing and perfect!

Stayed in the apartment owned by Chiltern rather than the B&B itself. Very nice self catering apartment. Comfy bed and sofa. All the appliances I needed and then some (eg kettle, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, hobs and oven, hairdryer, TV (list possibly not exhaustive) ). Plenty of space for the two of us. Warm. Nice bathroom, spacious shower. Helpful owners. Whole flat was also very clean. Location is good, short 5 min walk to get to Whitby harbour, less to the beach. Streets fairly quiet around the area, but still local shops and tea rooms. Road names little confusing, is atop the hill. Downsides include lack of bathtub (which is expected to be missing I suppose), slow internet speeds and potentially temperamental freeview (actually sky without the paid channels) box. Well worth the price paid, would stay again.

Warm welcome. Very clean and well presented guest house. The owners couldnt do enough for you. Home from home will certainly visit again soon.

Just had a lovely 2 nights stay here. What a lovely place. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic situation. Would definitely recommend this place and will return one day ourselves. Lovely owners who served up a beautiful hearty breakfast. Thank you.

Lovly place to stay jhon&jools are the best &love pets the place is fantastic what more do you need to say don't go by tripadviser its a crap website don't trust it if you want a warm &friendly place this is the place to stay.

Another great stay at the chiltern bed and breakfast, this time taking our pet dog with us. Jools and John were very helpful in giving advice of dog friendly pubs and good walking areas etc. Aswel as arranging breakfast to be brought up to the room to keep the dog away from other visitors enjoying there breakfast. Again the rooms are good sized, with TV wall mounted. With a dvd player. Nice and tidy rooms. Chiltern is definatly the best placed I have stayed. Thanks again Jools and John, we'll be back in a few months Michael, Hannah and Tyson.
