The staff are great and make you feel welcome and the food is great.

Stayed here from Thursday until today, firstly really friendly welcoming staff just absolutely lovely. Before I came I had a query and facebooked them it was quite late in the evening but Kyle got back to me really quickly and sorted my query out and updated me the next morning absolutely fantastic customer service. I've stayed here before in different rooms so I knew it's a high standard I stayed in room 4 really lovely room I loved it had everything I needed and a bit extra. There was a fridge and a fan and an alarm clock. The bed is the best bed I've ever had in a hotel so comfy and the bedding was brilliant quality. I had lunch both days here the lock stock baguette is stunning really enjoyed if alot. I will definitely be back again no doubt about that can't wait 10/10 fantastic keep up the good work.

As a parent of a T1 child and hearing the restaurant has gone above and beyond for a family it's amazing. Carb counting the kids menu — you have fantastic staff well done 👏👏

Whilst the food was ok, we experienced quite disrespectful behaviour and rubbish customer service I am afraid. Some of the staff were openly discussing hotel guests after being on the phone to them! 😠 we were served a glass for our cider that was terribly dirty too. Unlike their sister pub The Copper Horse, which we found lovely where nothing was too much trouble. I hate putting negative reviews but think this lack of professional behaviour should be addressed. Sorry 😞

Waited over an hour for our food then when it finally arrived they had somehow forgot to cook one of them we were offered an alternative which was very poor, didn't even offer a free drink or a discount rubbish customer service won't be returning, once the novelty of going out again as passed for everyone this place will struggle unless things change.

Fantastic food good portions friendly staff will return fish and chips next time then the curry.

Was recommended this lovely friendly family pub by the owners of the campsite we was staying at and can see why they recommended this place very friendly staff very big and spacious and the food is amazing I got the chicken paramo and its was delicious if we come and stay in the area again Will definitely be coming back thank u to all the lovely kind staff x.

Just popped in for a bite to eat and can highly recommend the chunky chips and home made onion rings. Not so keen on the sharing platter we had to start but the main meals were lovely.

Yorkshire pudding wrap was delish. Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere and footy on the telly xx.

Food especially the carvery was totally tasteless, and did not cater for people with dairy issues, 1 slice of meat, 1 small floret of broccoli 2 bits of parsnip and 3 rock hard cold potatoes, our room was not cleaned properly either. Certainly gone down, 3rd time staying here and was the worst. Even family said the same.

Very rude owner/ manager. Came over to see the mother’s and she was such a rude person! I understand with COVID rules but we all asked for another song. NO! A guy we were in with said he fancied her and she barred our table for another drink. Not a happy woman and all bar staff looked like they didn’t want to be there. If we are barred then I don’t think it’ll bother us lot. We went to see the mother’s and not to be in that “pub”

Came for dinner today. Absolutely spot on, food was beautiful. Friendly staff.

Friendly staff, the food didn't take too long and it was very tasty gammon. Very busy atmosphere lots going on.

I’ve come in here to eat several times before with no problems. However, I came in with my son and my cousin tonight, the staff, although pleasant and polite, appeared young and inexperienced. My son and I ordered aubergine and mozzarella bake with salad and garlic bread. The garlic bread was missing. When I asked for this, I was given mine but my son was left without. We ordered deserts, mine came without ice cream which was ordered. Mt son wanted mint chocolate chip with his desert but was told he couldn’t have it on the same plate as his desert so had to have it in a cardboard tub (as used by the ice cream vans). The place was well attended by others and was clean and had a good atmosphere but on this occasion I definitely felt let down by the service.

The friendly and helpful staff, gorgeous food especially the carvery. When we return to Yorkshire from Norfolk again will definitely eat there again.

Fab carvery been a few times always excellent food staff friendly dog friendly in the bar arwa would definitely recommend.

Great function room and food.

The room was great with good facilities and spotless clean. The staff were friendly, and helpful. Drinks were super reasonably priced. Most of the food was great, the pulled pork on nacho starter was a real winner, but my main (chicken tikka) tasted of burned plastic and I couldn't eat it but they took the critisism really well. The wifes burrito was good too. The carvery looked and smelled awesome which I found myself wishing I'd gone for but the cheap drinks eased away the pain :-) The all you can eat English breakfast was good quality too. A nice quiet and quaint little village which even provided evening entertainment when 4 coppers wrestled a highly inebriated local to the floor before cuffing him and taking him for a free bed and breakfast experience elsewhere:-D.

Won a carvery for 4 and all of us really enjoyed it. Will definitely go back for another. Daughter enjoyed the play area and ice cream. Would like to try the all you can eat breakfast.

Was here on Thursday night, ordered a starter which took around 1hr 20 mins to arrive — husband complained to be told it had gone to another table! So another 15 minutes wait for it to come out. Was offered free drink. Have a disabled daughter in a wheelchair luckily she had the carvery (was stood there 5 mins for someone to come and serve us) so she didn’t have to wait. Had to change her and a staff member tried to help us open door to get into disabled changing area but would have meant moving people who were eating! Ended up changing her on floor in function room. The staff member didn’t seem concerned and didn’t even show me to the room. When food arrived it was ok nothing special. Thick chips were undercooked and hard in middle, had to give my son half of my food. Won’t be rushing back.

This hotel has lovely modern rooms which were refurbished recently. Very large bathroom with rainforest shower and a large bath. The pub offers a great selection of food and drink.

Big place that does food, entertainment, childrens play area and carvery. It's quite hot and busy and you may need to book in advance for a table. We had dinner, the carvery was OK but the other two dinners looked really nice with big portions. Childrens play area is really good and enclosed for peace of mind. There is a nice place to sit outside also. Bands and singers from 9pm but kids no kids allowed after 9pm.

Room and food was lovely. Unfortunately too warm due to the weather. A fan was provided though.

I stayed over one night at the Mayfield and have to say that a three star rating probably does not do this place justice. Sometimes when you look at accommodation you view the pictures and when you turn up its nothing like what you expected — this was quite the opposite and the photographs doe not do this hotel justice. The whole experience was nothing short of outstanding, the receptionist was welcoming and professional, the check in process smooth and simple… My room was thoughtfully designed and spotlessly clean, in fact I would describe the decor and features as definitely swanky! Breakfast was great, staff were accommodating, friendly and attentive — my food was well prepared with plenty of options on top of the standard continental choice. It was a pity that I was only passing through on business but will certainly look to booking again when next working in the area — thank you for making my stay a pleasant experience.

Came with my family and stayed in the two bedded suite was so nice had everything you need and more and for the money was great value for money. We ate down in the bar and the food was lovely we shall be back!

The room has very comfy and with everything needed. Even if the bedroom itself was in the small side, there was plenty of space in the hall and bathroom. I haven't used the pub or the restaurant, but during breakfast a could appreciate how spacious it was. The breakfast was good. The staff has helpful and fast to help.

Friendly staff. Clean, good sized and well decorated rooms. Nice food with good portion sizes. Easy booking and check in service. Stayed there twice and standards were consistent.

An excellent venue offering excellent family dining. There is a dedicated children's soft play area ideal for all ages. I can say both the carvery and burgers are outstanding, as these are the items from the menu I have tried. The venue also offers accommodation and a function room for parties etc. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for family dining in the Scarborough area look no further!

One of the nicest carvery's I've tasted… All fresh veg cooked well and piping hot. Meat tender succulent and plenty of it. Staff very pleasant.

You cant fault this establishment, if its just a drink, buffet or dinner its a class Pub and Eatery, good staff polite and courteous, tentative but not in your face.
This visit was for a drink but our last visit was 15 family members for Lunch and we all enjoyed from child to Grandmother.

Visited for a drink 22nd Jan. Closed for food as annual "deep clean" will visit again as looked like an amazing venue for drinks, food, entertainment, accommodation and families.

Very friendly staff. The food is really nice, carvery almost every day plus a nice choice of food on the menu. Indoor play area and family room. They also have a function room for party's, weddings ect. Rooms also available which have disabled access and a car park at rear of hotel.

Cosy, modern yet still maintains some old world charm. The food was absolutely fantastic for all members of our party which included the carvery. Food was served promptly and hot. Couldn't find fault whatsoever.

Spacious and nicely decorated. Has a kids play area at the rear which is a great way to entertain your children. There's a selection of real ales and also a carvery available.

Visited The Mayfield a few times since we moved here and enjoyed the food and real ale on each occasion. Love the (large) Log Burner. We are booked in for Christmas Lunch again this year, having thoroughly enjoyed it last year!

We booked back in February the Robbie Williams tribute night for our Humble Bee Farm Christmas Party! And wow it was fantastic we have been for three years in a row but we feel this year it was especially good and has improved the food was delicious three courses even our vegetarian was happy and the Robbie Williams was brilliant and great entertainment! We had so much fun and will be coming again! Thankyou to all your team.

Food isn't great by any means, and is expensive for what it is. Its not a very cosy place either in the food area. It is nice in the bar and out back in summer. If you try open a tab when eating then bar staff want to keep your card behind the bar which im really not happy to do. The saving grace is the jungle Jim play area for kids, otherwise I would never go to this pub. The staff are slow to serve you and there can be four or five of them behind the bar at times, all ignoring customers queuing up.

A nice carvery meal in a nice setting. It was busy and parking was difficult. I would book if you intend to go on Sunday.

Excellent Sunday lunch never had a dry bit of meat like you normally get at carvery's although a little pricey for a medium carvery.

Went last night for a party in function rooM which was very nice and had a good time shame about the food! Payed £8.00 per head for the evening carvery left overs. Chunks of meat in a bun roll served with dry cold roast potatoes some chips left over colesaw and salad with gravy, no sweet was offered for desert WHAT A LET DOWN MAYFIELD.

Me and my partner went here for a wedding fayre, of course there was more to see and do for my fiancée as weddings are pretty much all about the bride. But there were certainly some good idea givers and sure did look nice.

Very nice pub. The front bar area is your classic pub and the back area is a family area with soft play area. I had a really nice burger for my tea.

Mayfield is a family pub/hotel in a lovely village outside Scarborough, the food has a fantastic range of different varieties and lovely deserts. Great guest ales and wine, and great sports t. V if you want to watch sports, and a brilliant safe toddlers and kids play area. Would definitely recommend.

Newly refurbished bedrooms make it a great place to stay. The King sized bed was most comfortable and I had one of the best nights sleep I've had in any hotel.

Great place to eat during the week, can be busy weekend, food prices reasonable and the carvary is excellent. If your local make sure you download the HG app so you can collect points.

Great place to eat and let the kids burn some energy off. Good beer too.

Wonderful example of a modern village pub, restaurant and lodging. Quality surroundings and environment, nice quiet garden area, children's area, and good menu. Impressed.

Well located about 10 minutes drive from Scarborough with plenty of public transport connections. The hotel is very new and modern, with a contemporary feel throughout. The bathroom is done to a high standard, the only downside being it was a little small. The rooms themselves were a little on the small side, but they were well decorated, with an enourmous bed. The TV is a good size. Each room has a fridge and a much needed fan as there is no air conditioning and the rooms get very warm in the summer. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the bar the hotel is attached to does good food, and has a nice atmosphere. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel, as for the price it is very impressive.

The Mayfield seamer is located about 10 minutes from Scarbourgh and is very easy to find. There is a small car park at the back for guests. There are two entrances one for the bar/restaurant and one for the hotel. The staff were really helpful and attentive we were shown to our room which was clean and well presented. There is a welcome pack in each room with full menu for the restaurant downstairs and the local amenities and the restaurant has excellent food. Well worth a stay.

This was a most wonderful place to stay, sleep, eat, drink and relax. Will definitely be coming back here. We all had a great stay and the staff were fabulous! Couldn't have ask for a cleaner more modern room than this, absolutely gorgeous place, we really were lost for words, put our own bathroom and bedroom to shame. Well done Mayfield, spot on!

Attended a family gathering carvery was ok, nothing to write home about… probably wouldnt go again. Staff wasnt knowledgeable about offers on menu which was a pain.

Good food. Indoor children's play area is great while you wait. Highly recommend a visit.

Clean, tidy, well staffed, excellent carvery, wide choice of drinks, kids area, modern, well decorated, 30 minute walk from home, outside tables. What's not to like. Maybe I go too often lol.

Attended for a meal with old work colleagues to catch up. First time I had been in many years but the place looked fresh and new and spacious. Plenty of parking, reasonably priced food that was tasty and served in a timely fashion and very well trained staff. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to go again.

A pleasant visit on a Sunday afternoon to meet family. We were a large group of 20 booked in for the carvery. We were well looked after and easily accommodated. The food was good, a nice time had by all.

Booked a Sunday carvery lunch for all the family and were delighted with the service and food. Although it was bank holiday weekend we had no problems. The dining room was spotless, bright and comfortable. Service was efficient and professional. The carvery was available in 3 portion sizes and suited all needs. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was as good a Cartmel Pudding. Pudding to die for! Definitely recommended as good value for money and free parking thrown in!

Carvery is really good value, and the food is reasonably good quality, all piping hot. Would recommend.

Rooms were 4star on there own without the helpful Staff Carvery excellent Very minor downside the breakfast a couple of pound over priced, however produce excellent quality.

Nice pub with good food. There is a very nice carvery on a Sunday, it can get a bit busy so it is advisable to book a table.

Someone said reasonable prices, I thought £3 for a pint of lemonade and a splash of blackcurrant cordial was a bit excessive. Also made a drink too many and reluctantly gave my money back but the barman first offered, crisps, nuts, food. When the problem is not of my making I think that was a bit cheeky. I was actually looking at purchasing a property immediately facing the pub — glad there are other pubs in the village ;) Gents toilets needed a good clean too. I used to frequent this pub very often in the past and had fond memories, just a sign of the times I guess : (
