Lovely, friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Food was plentiful and very tasty plus reasonably priced. They’ve made a real effort with the Christmas decorations it looks really festive.

We stayed last night at the Royal Oak. We did get the room at a bargain price and it truly was you get what you pay for. The beds were comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the furniture in the room was old and damaged — handles missing and looked like some of it had been there since the 70s. There was grime on the window sills, a dead spider in the light fitting, stains on the bathroom door and mould around the shower. The worst though was a toilet that would not flush and although the owner tried to fix it, it was still unusable and should have been checked before the room was let. The whole place felt generally grimy and totally put us off so we left without having breakfast which had been included in the price. It's a shame as with a bit of TLC it would have been good, spacious family room and the pub itself had a friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

4 meals, all great, good portions and value for money. Friendly staff, well be back.

Went for family meal food was first class portion size was great friendly staff and service was excellent.

Came here for some food and after we explained that my son has autism and isn’t good at social places they sorted a section for us until my son felt comfortable the soft play upstairs is good to the food was amazing the staff were even better was one of kids birthday and the whole pub sang her happy birthday and clapped what an amazing atmosphere defo be back thankyou.

Food was absolutely delicious, lovely atmosphere and great that you can take dogs in.

Great location. Friendly staff and lovely food. Excellent COVID-19 guidelines been followed. We all chose homemade steak pie which was very tender and tasty but with a portion size not for the faint hearted Recommend and will definitely be back again.

Lovely pub, great staff who are all polite & welcoming. Thankyou Morgan for looking after us so well, you were quick to refill our glasses lol. Great management of covid requirements (all staff & visitors following). Although we didn’t eat here the food looked lovely. Well done all, look forward to our next visit.

We were advised on arrival that there was a long wait for food, not a problem we were ok with this. The food arrived and I had asked for medium cooked steak which was way over cooked and very dry, my son got ham egg and chips, again everything was over cooked. The children's burger was ok. We were not asked once how the food was and I didn't want to go complain at the bar. The dirty plates were sat on the table for a long time after they were finished with and only moved once my sons dessert arrived. Maybe we came on a bad day but unfortutely I would not return.

Under new management and this family owned pub is making a real success of it. Lovely food and friendly staff. There is quite a long wait for food but that's because its so good!

Love the place,, Amazing food and drink, We were the 1st people here after lockdown and was greeted with a free bottle of wine.

We were at royal oak sunday for Carvery. Husband and I both had carvery, was really lovely and kids enjoyed their kids meal. However did notice bar staff were a bit too quick to move onto next customer without explaining carvery special. The lady who brought our food was lovely and friendly as was the gentleman who cleared our table and brought desserts. Kids enjoyed outdoor playarea. If in area again would go again as carvery was good.

Went on a wed night and they were busy. The food was lovely. Plenty of it and it was nice and hot. It was a dog friendly pub and I think it was their own dog that was wondering around. I am not over keen on that. They have a childrens play area upstairs so there were a few kids around but they were no problem. Good menu at reasonable prices and good drinks choice. Overall a good pub with good food. We will be returning soon.
