Absolutely terrible hotel, parking and staff! Do not waste your time and money going here. Staff speak to you like your stupid and blame you for their mistakes. Booked this hotel for the pool to take our baby and arrived just after 9am for them to tell us we can’t go in as it’s adults only and we should have got a welcome letter to tell us that which we did not receive. Parking was a nightmare and have been told we will get a fine because they didn’t tell us when or where to register the number plate so need to ring them. They got breakfast wrong so we had to phone and complain. Food is average, definitely not 4*Staff are happy for you to leave the hotel disappointed and stressed. The whole experience was stressful, you would have a better experience at the premier inn next door.

Parking was awful and then to top it all I paid for 24 hr parking and received a parking ticket today allegedly for not paying for parking there. 😡😡😡😡😡

We stay here every year for our anniversary, the staff can not do enough for you, amazing atmosphere super clean rooms. They have everything you could possibly need. We will be back again for our anniversary next year 🥰 thankyou!

Wonderful New Year ball — great band and hot food! Can’t believe they managed that for so many people! Lovely efficient waiters and waitresses, expertly supervised to synchronise and tend to everyone. Very impressed. Thank you for a great stay.

Highlights were the spa, it was amazing, And the staff but in particular Sheila were lovely and so helpful especially in sorting out a few things to do with a room mix up and a bit of a dissapointing evening meal but Sheila quickly made it better by inviting us for a complimentary afternoon tea and a small rebate off the bill, overall it was a lovely mini break x thanks again Sheila you deserve a promotion and a pay rise, You are manager material.

Loved this spa! The facilities were so lovely and relaxing. Clean and well maintained. Plenty of choice of ways to relax and make the most of your time there. The rasual treatment was fantastic and left my skin feeling wonderful. Great service from all the staff, especially Joanne who gave the best massage. Will be back.

Absolutely love this hotel. We had our wedding here nearly 8 weeks ago. The events team (Pagi) and the staff were amazing! only slight annoyance was that reception communication was not great but all sorted in the end!

I went to the spa. I chose the afternoon delight. The sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and pool area is small and great. Nice, clean and peaceful. I would put some relaxing music in the pool area and would be excellent. Great showers and changing room area. I had two treatments of 25 min each and I am feeling great. Nice, relaxing massage room and fantastic relaxing area afterwards. The food includes excellent. Nice and friendly staff and quiet environment 😁👍

Went there for birthday party. Staff in restaurant were excellent, especially the young lady who looked after us most of the night.

Stunning hotel and great facilities. Enjoyed a lovely couples massage then few hours in the spa with a high tea and bottle of Prosecco. Definitely return again.

Great hotel shame you have to pay for the car park it would be better if they increased the room rate and gave “free parking”

Fabulous family lunch today in the private dining room. We have been coming for years but this year I would say the staff and food was exceptional! The waiting team were superb at providing a professional service and the host Karoline was very good at looking after our large family group. This made a long-awaited get-together very special. Thank you! I would definitely recommend for special private dining events.

I have been a member of the harrogate spa leisure club for the past month and the experience has been 5 star. The staff are world class nothing is too much trouble and I’ve been made so welcome thanks all I wish was staying in harrogate longer. Thanks to Craig and the team especially James who gave me the first tour and the girls and Adam for their bubbly 7am morning welcomes 👏🏻

This large historic hotel is in a prime position ideal for walking into Harrogate. Disappointing car park situation, with not enough spaces for a full capacity hotel, and those which were available were extremely tight for space. £10 extra charged for parking as well.
Very quiet in the hotel rooms, leading to a good night sleep. Clean large room, but the huge old hotel must need a lot of upkeep. Good breakfast.

Over rated. Dirty. Miserable staff. Over priced.

Shocking, noisy, dirty and after waiting almost 2hours for our dinner to arrive we gave up and left as it was now 9.50pm and our original time was 7.30pm. No manager came to see to a restaurant full of upset customers it was left to the waiting staff whom I felt particularly sorry for,
We had actually booked this restaurant specifically as we were staying at another hotel. We certainly would NEVER return and went to bed on empty tummies. 😡

Disappointing!
My husband surprised me with a break away for my birthday to this hotel in Harrogate. He paid just short of £200. Firstly, the wait at reception was not a great start! The room was very spacious but a little dated. However, this did not bother me in the slightest. We had the children with us, who don’t drink tea or coffee. I rang down to reception and asked if someone could bring some sachets of hot chocolate. They said yes but this would be after 5pm. We had a meal booked so would be out, but they said they would leave them outside the room for us on our return. This was not done. The biggest issue for me however, was the following morning. We went down to reception to ask where we were to go for breakfast. There was no one around. This was at 8.30am. We did find the breakfast room, and we chose to have a full English. When I sat down to eat this it was stone cold! They do not have a proper servery. Each time they open the lid on the food, it gets cold! When checking out, we told the reception staff who refunded our parking of £10 because of this, however my husband paid for 4 of us to eat breakfast there. I don’t think £10 is a fair amount! We would never stay here again. It is overpriced and disappointing. A big let down for a birthday treat. Save your money and stay somewhere else! I wish we had stayed somewhere else, and gone to Bettys for breakfast instead.

The staff are very helpful and the place is clean great selection of breakfast And plenty of parking space around.

Just been for dinner on the terrace and really disappointed with the service we received. The food was really good and can at least recommend the starters and mains. When we arrived we had to ask twice if we could place a drinks order. We ordered a cocktail pitcher and 20 minutes later we were told that there was no rhubarb gin so we had to choose a different one. We ended up waiting nearly an hour for drinks. Our starters arrived before we had a drink. We were told in an Instagram message that the terrace usually closed at 10pm but then at 8:45pm a member of staff came to say it was last orders and it closed at 9pm. When we asked about dessert we were told the kitchen had closed and we couldn’t have one. No effort was made to see if they could offer us anything else at all. We were eventually offered some drinks on the house after we asked to speak to the manager but it doesn’t really make up for what should have been a special birthday night out.

I got treated by my sister as a birthday treat on the champagne and gin terrace tonight 16th April great atmosphere fantastic food I had the feds chicken burger, very nice my sister had a very good pizza all staff were working flat out and and sticking to covid rules. Job well done. The blueberry gin went down well.

Right in the middle of the city so nice walking distance to pubs, restaurants and shopping. Great historic building in a beautiful city and fab for a nice weekend away 👍🏻😁

We loved our visit at the spa — the service was very good! We especially enjoyed our treatments by Nicole and Megan — they was amazing! We would definitely recommend this Spa!

We recently stayed at the hotel and the Kingston suite was fantastic. We celebrated our anniversary & the hotel arranged swan towels, rose petals, card and chocolates esp for us.
The food was beautiful and the staff were friendly and lovely.
Overall 10/10

We stayed here on Friday night and lived our stay. The hotel and grounds are really beautiful. Dinner in the majestic teepee was fabulous too. All staff were really helpful and friendly. Only bad thing I could say is everywhere was soooo hot.

Just booked in. For my wife's 50th and a combined 21st for my daughter.
Wasn't able to book an upgrade (hotel full) and not a single gesture made.
Annoyingly was also told the pool was closed and it isn't No effort to make the stay special which is very disappointing.

Its a lovely hotel clean and marvellous surroundings, it has a gym pool snooker room spas and is located on the edge of Harrogate Centre. Its not cheap but bargains can found but a wonderful stay.

Beautiful hotel … amazing kind staff from receptionist, waiters to the breakfast manager, stayed for one night for a birthday treat the food in Carter's was delicious, breakfast was too, the hotel room was spacious and clean bed was very comfortable… love this hotel highly recommended would love to return. Thankyou all staff at Majestic.

Service was shockingly bad. Drinks took ages twice. When we went down for evening meal they said we weren’t on the list so made a table (this also happened to 3 other couples in the queue! ) then took an hour and a half for us to get our main meal!
We arrived for breakfast and had to wait 15/20 mins to be seated. Ordered fairly quickly — I ordered scrambled eggs on toast — the eggs arrived in a bowl 20minutes after my toast which was then cold. Clearly not enough staff on! Diabolical service at all stages during our stay!

Deluxe rooms were fantastic for my group of friends (a 4 and 3) sharing, really spacious for us all. Breakfast was really nice and the spa was relaxing. Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful.

Although the hotel looked a bit tired and is in the middle of refurbishment we still found it charming and was happy with our room etc. The staff are lovely and ready to help with your needs. The meal we had on the evening was so good I could have eaten it all again (even though I was full). Everybodys tastes were catered for when it came to breakfast and I enjoyed a full English. Spent some time relaxing in the pool and the jakuzzi /sauna too. All in all a great stay, would love to come back when the refurbishment has finished.

Having read all the previous reviews I have to say that their comments have been noted! I booked in yesterday with my daughter and I was pleasantly surprised. The room is large with comfortable beds. It is clean and has tea making facilities, iron and board and a very relaxing corner with two comfortable chairs. The receptionist on checking in was very pleasant and helpful. Last night we went for a swim and this morning sampled their Beauty Treatments. The staff in the Spa were exceptionally nice.
There is an upgrading process going on, but I believe it will be ‘absolutely fabulous’ on completion. Personally the Majestic wins hands down on the brand named hotels.

We a currently staying at the hotel at the minute and have to say what a disappointment it has been so far. The hotel itself seems as though its falling to pieces and hasn't had a lick of paint for a number of years. We went for our evening meal last night and the menu was terrible to say the least. We waited over 30 mins for a bowl of soup to arrive and then 30 mins for each course after. The food was basic and had very little taste. There was hardly any staff and the ones in duty certainly didn't have any urgency about them. The same can be said for breakfast this morning. We came down to use the facilities which were advertised very well on the Internet. What a let down. The gym is very poor and the sauna is in the individual changing rooms which isn't mentioned anywhere. So we aren't bothering with the facilities on site and are having to go off site and spend money to use others elsewhere. For the price we paid we really expected so much more. I think there is a lot of false advertising for this hotel and certainly is not value for money. Considering my wife and I rarely get a weekend away we feel such disappointment and have wasted our money.

The staff where good, the hotel although dated has plenty of character,
Evening meal we decided to have Salisbury steak, the waitress asked how would you like the steak cooked, 1 weĺldone & 1Rare please, 15 mins later the SALISBURY steak was served at this point we discovered the said meat wasnt a piece of steak but minced into a Beef burger/pate.
The following day as we checked out I was told I had £16to pay for Parking at no point where we told their was a fee and when we had entered the HOTELS own carpark the barrier was up and had remained up both days.

I stayed here Monday and a bit on Tuesday with Usdaw for a seminar, the room I had was amazing but a little cold, I went to reception and it was resolved, radiator turned up and extra duvet, Mark who’s head of house was just simply the best, so down to earth, funny and nothing was any trouble, I’ll be looking forward going back there. 10/10 for me. It wouldn’t of been easy accommodating over 100 union reps and officials. I can highly recommend the Majestic, food was amazing.
