Friendly staff, good breakfast but very tierd decor our room was dated no window or fan in bathroom,. The decoration pillows on the bed had stains on and mattress very hard…

I stopped here before and had a good room with a very nice breakfast but this time I got a fantastic room. Big bed loads of space clean and posh comfortable. Very nice place to stay and very polite chap on the desk. I will be back.

Called here for morning coffee. Staff friendly and doing their best but lounge area dated and in need of TCL. Had to keep coats on as the heating wasn't working so didn't linger for long.

Very comfortable and clean but in need of an upgrade. Excellent breakfast. All staff very attentive.

I like this hotel, it's the 2nd time I've stayed here. It is old and tired but somewhat quirky. It's location is perfect if you want a town centre location. Beverley is a lovely town, oozing history. The local pubs are plentiful and ate great for a night out. Breakfast is really good but rather expensive unless you have a b&b deal. Not sure about the evening meals as there has been no mention of it. Pretty sure that they must provide evening meals hence it's a hotel. Perhaps the staff could sell it to customers on arrival, I'm sure more people would eat if they knew without having to ask. I would recommend this hotel to anyone but bear in mind that it's not a new build.!

Friendly and helpful staff. No meals served except breakfast which has a good choice of hot and cold menu. The downside is the very small car park. There is a pay and display a short walk away.

A well run hotel by very attentive staff. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Furst rate location and breakfast excellent. Well priced.

Extremely friendly staff. Breakfast superb breakfast also suitable for dietary problems. Close to excellent restaurants.

I was attending a wedding at Tickton Grange and this was ideally situated. The room whilst small was suitable for a one night stay. All staff were very helpful.

On arrival the free car park is full, so have to pay for parking in a council run car park. Entering the building the reception desk wasn't manned, had to wait near enough 10 minutes before a member of staff showed up, after ringing the bell three times! Showed to the room, large enough, but very very dated. The floor is terrible, every step creaks so loudly I wouldn't be surprised if everyone staying there can hear you. It is uneven, like being on a sailing ship of old — no joke, you literally "roll" to the bathroom. Furniture is dated, the bed has to be the worst we've ever slept on. No support, and not only preventing you having a good night's sleep, but when you get up you are riddled with pain. The bathroom although having all you need is very pink and again dated. Not a cheap experience, time for Best Western to spend some of its money.

Old fashioned hotel in centre of town. Ideal base for walking around centre. Room warm and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Kippers good. Had a nice feel.

If everyone in Beverley is like the staff at the Lairgate it must be a damn lovely place to live! They couldn't have been nicer, more helpful and friendly. This morning feeling a bit worse for wear they made me a toasted egg sandwich for thw journey!

It was OK, but we did get buttercream instead of whipped cream with our scone.

Good central location. Room quality can be variable as the hotel is occupies an old building. The decor is somewhat faded but the service is friendly and efficient.

Beautiful room (ask for 32! ), very comfortable and roomy. The food was ok, but there are many nice restaurants close by. Also the evening staff were some if the most freindly I have come across, with plenty of recommendations for the local area. I gall have to spend a short weekend there some time!

My wife and I and two friends attended today 25/11/15 for an afternoon tea. We can only describe our experience as excellent. Due to another function within the hotel the staff made us extremely welcome, they provided a room that was just like home, the food albeit was afternoon tea was presented very well and was tasty. The staff were very attentive and professional and friendly. well done. We will definitely call again Peter Waller.

Start with no hot water and it gets worse. Yes the hotel is 300 years old, but it is time for new mattresses. Everthing is old and not "nice" old. Tired out old is more like it.
