We have eaten here a few times and the food is always to die for. Lots of flavours and very tasty. I highly recommend a visit. The pictures are the sea bream risotto and the suckling pig. Staff are friendly too.

21st Birthday supper. Just the four of us as it’s 2020, but the staff made it feel special and the food was fabulous. Very Covid aware and no problems with allergies. We were able to bring a cake from my baker which was brought out at the end of the meal. My son is a classical music student at university so music themed cake!

We went for a birthday lunch with friends and family and arrived with our steam engine. We’d asked if we could have some water for it while we were there and they couldn’t have been more hospitable, even greeting us with a drink on our arrival. Fantastic food and a great ambience. Thoroughly recommend.

Visited yesterday evening with family and a four legged family member, Absolutely perfect for drinks and nibbles bar man was an absolute star very very helpful and went out of his way to help with choice of drinks, staff friendly quick and efficient. Food fab and a great selection of drinks very dog friendly.

Simple but superb cooking and real ales in a lovely part of the country.

A delicious lunch. I had hot smoked salmon then hake (my favourite fish) then marmalade Bakewell tart with marmalade ice cream (I love marmalade! )

We've always visited with our puppy and the welcome has been so friendly. Tonight we came out for a meal just the two of us. Very special. The service, food and atmosphere second to none.

Fantastic food with attentive and polite waiting staff. Pricey and small portions but I guess that's just the style. Outside seating area has a great log burner which adds to the atmosphere.

Really nice pub restaurant with rooms. Food is good and staff are lovely, the wine list is a little dull and over priced but a good option if exploring the area.

Just to say what great people run this pub. I stopped with a couple of people inc my 90 year old auntie. For a drink. During this visit my auntie became very I'll. The staff were nothing but helpful. Called ambulances and helped us. Will be returning to have a meal. A big THANK you. Auntie ok.

Having never been here before, my wife and I stopped here whilst on our travel home from Glos to E. Sussex. A rare find, the food was extremely good, just having a main course each. It was so good that we specifically tipped the chef for the quality of the delicious ox cheeks and the exquisite pork belly. Such a nice change to dine somewhere where you are not disappointed with sub standard results. On the basis of our one visit, we would not hesitate to visit again, and indeed recommend a visit to anyone who wants good food.

Lovely room in the stables block across the road. Excellent food, the artichoke pannacotta was superb.

Stopped one night for dinner, bed and breakfast. Cold Thursday night but fabulous room, comfortable and well equipped. Dinner was excellent as was breakfast. Very friendly staff. Would go again for a short break.

Good atmosphere and decor. Service was lovely. Food was good however portions much too small for the price paid — certainly for the £23 steak! As for the seasonal vegetables — there was no reason to douse the whole thing in so much butter. Excellent deserts though.

I met a friend for lunch as it was halfway between for us both. We chose the set lunch menu. I had the Thai Green Fish Curry and my gad the Rib Eye Steak and Puddings and it was delicious. The staff were attentive and friendly. Would have lunch here again.

Stayed at the home across from The Halfway Brisge, but had dinner there. The pub and dining room are warm and inviting. The food was very good, a menu representative of English country cuisine, it was exquisite! The only takeaway was my wife ordered the ribeye steak medium rare, and it came medium. No big deal. We will definitely come back when we return to South England.

Little gem of a place with food to die for (the guinea fowl is heaven on a plate). The converted barn rooms are luxurious and so quiet to stay at. Service could not have been better and chatty chef too. Just don't hesitate otherwise you'll miss out.

Not all that great to be honest. The place only gets 2 stars as it very nice and clean inside. The staff were nice enough and the drinks were OK but the food was the let down. I had the roast pork @ £16 (yikes! ) For this much I would expect crispy and hot roasties and decent gravy neither of which made it on the plate, everything was VERY bland and badly put together. A side note for the chef, it's not the most hygienic thing to use wooden bowls for sides either.

I would just like to start by saying what a lot of nonsense the previous review by 'Miles Rice' was, although this seems more like a troll comment than a review. This is our first visit to The Halfway Bridge Inn & we have just enjoyed the most beautiful meal we've had in a long while here, served by the friendliest, most attentative staff and have had a wonderful evening chatting with some of the team at the bar. Our room is sumptuous, comfortable and has lots of thoughtful detail & extras — including fresh, ground coffee which is a delightful bonus and we have found no one to be 'snooty' or 'predjudiced'. It's so barmy for anyone to say that, I had to take the trouble to leave my own comment. This is a beautiful inn, in a glorious setting with lovely staff and we have felt thoroughly spoiled as well as welcomed. A very highly recommended stay!

My wife and I stopped at The Halfway Bridge Inn for lunch. Received a warm welcome and had a fabulous lunch! Try the whitebait — Brilliant! Highly recommended. Billy the Manager is a delight and has a charming way with him. Five Stars!

Ate Sunday lunch there yesterday — staff were courteous, helpful and attentive without being fussy, foood was delicious from menu that is varied without being pretentious — plentiful helpings and beautifully presented. Could not fault it! Well worth our 70 mile round trip!

We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were pleasant, friendly and very helpful. The food was well prepared and suited our tastes perfectly so much so that we ate there every evening. Breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from all perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The homemade bread was totally scrumptious. Our immaculate accommodation was over the road in a converted barn, which afforded us guests complete privacy, with the advantage of our own pub/restaurant on our doorstep. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms were very well furnished and equipped. We will most certainly return for another weekend soon.
