Thank you so much to all the staff who couldn’t do anything more to accommodate all our guests for afternoon tea for my mums 60th. We were an awkward bunch but they did everything they could to make everything perfect for us! Thank you!

We had our wedding here at Christmas it was amazing the staff couldn’t be more helpful they looked after ourselves and guests so well the food was amazing the whole wedding package was amazing they took all the stress out of our day and made it so special.

We celebrated our 43rd wedding anniversary here recently. Even an anniversary card was awaiting us on going to our room which was a lovely touch. All staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Very romantic setting especially as decorated with lots of lights and a beautiful tree for Christmas.

A relaxing atmosphere at the Tap Bar and a great place to stop after a nice walk in the beautiful Arundel. Enjoyed trying out different craft ales and lagers. Friendly and knowledgeable service.

Recently had my baby shower here. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic from start to finish. Would highly recommend.

Nice hotel, in good location. From our room we had a lovely view of the castle. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice and so was evening meal. The hotel needs a bit of a spruce up! But otherwise good.

Tired. Very hot rooms. Service is slow. Expensive drinks.

Nice But not exceptional Hotel. Good position in centre of town. Book in early to make sure you get one of the limited car parking spaces. Obviously restrictions because of Covid but staff all friendly and coping well. Food surprisingly good, breakfast and evening meal. Rooms adequate but nothing special. Bed large and comfortable. Would stay again if the price was right. Arundel is lovely little town.

Unfortunately the room had not been hoovered for a while and there were pubic hairs in Bath. Bed was comfortable. Disappointed.

We stay here often and love it! Tonight we are in room no 7 and it is fabulous with a spacious room and enormous bathroom. We have also stayed in some of the smallest rooms which are pretty and comfortable. Staff are lovely and we have no complaints whatsoever.

There was a Christmas Doo on in the Ballroom last night. The Front desk staff offered to move and upgrade us no charge to room 14 with a courtyard view of the Castle. Top Mark's excellent customer service and a very polite front desk 10/10

Had a glass of mulled wine in the bar beautifully decorated for Christmas with a warm fantastic atmosphere.

Beautiful room which was very comfortable and clean. Staff were all very polite and helpful. The greetings card waiting for us in our room congratulating us on our wedding (our trip to Arundel was the first leg of our honeymoon) was the icing on the cake.

Excellent food, drinks and service.
Is to visit again.

I requested to hold a 21st birthday mad hatters tea party In the old kitchen room x it was out of this world x the staff went over and beyond to make the day special, the chef made the most delicious food and cakes x stunning venue, best service, amazing food. Stayed here the evening of my wedding blessing 28th December with my two bridesmaids. The staff were so accommodating to us whilst getting ready and kindly allowed us to use an additional room for the bridal party to get ready. Breakfast was absolutely lovely, all freshly cooked to order and very tasty.
Room 12 was large and comfortable and ideal for the purpose as lots of space. The blonde girl on reception (sorry didn’t catch her name) was very sweet and friendly. Thank you all for making the whole stay comfortable and stress free! Hope you enjoyed the bottle of bubbles.

One night away in Arundel we spent in this wonderful hotel in a prime location. Me and my boyfriend came here to celeberate the academic year, and the charm of the hotel was an unexpected surprise. Beautiful modern rooms with just enough of its historic character, a wonderful breakfast, attentive and welcoming staff and a wonderful nights sleep. If you're looking for somewhere to be in the middle of Arundel, this is the perfect place for couples and business professionals, and we hope to return in the near future!

Rooms do not have enough opportunity to park something.
No compartment in the box is also not possible to park in the bathroom.
Room poorly renovated.
The brause really bad.
Staff sometimes good times bad.
On the first evening we got nothing to eat because the cellar man was apparently overwhelmed.
Parking spaces are also used by other guests who do not live in the hotel and have not paid for it.
Generally in this price category (238€ per night for a double room) a naughty thing!

Something of a hit and miss experience! The Norfolk Arms is an impressive, old building absolutely in the centre of the beautiful town of Arundel. It has lots of charm with so many facets and original features. However … when it comes to room allocation this is where the hit and miss experience kicks in. We had 4 rooms booked for a weekend for a wedding and out of those, we all thought the rooms were either shoddy and/or poor value. In one room, there was no shower, bath only. Also the lock of the door into the room did not connect with the door frame — so not a case of something that had suddenly happened. However, we were swiftly moved to another room, so grateful thanks for that. And no carpet going up to the third floor, after the second floor it's stone so appears like a poor relation. In another room, the wardrobe was already half full with a full-size ironing board and a big blanket thrown in the bottom. The back of the bathroom door was either dirty or needed repainting. I understand that at the time, there was no permanent head housekeeper which may account for many of the smaller points. Issues with maintenance do want checking on though in order to bring this lovely hotel up to scratch and begin to be worth the price charged.

Charming old fashioned place, even don't have a lift, just stone stairs. No shower in my room, but no problem with a good bath. Service attentive breakfast not wonderful.

Attended for a small family function. Very pleasant and comfortable. Polite and helpful staff.

Stayed in room 27 for 3 nights, it's a little snug, it's at the top of the building and was hard to locate at first. It has been recently very tastefully refurbished, is double aspect and you can see the castle between the trees, which we loved! there is no shower, which we were told upon booking, so I bought a rubber shower head to attach to the taps. Perhaps one could be made available at reception. The staff were super helpful and any issues were quickly resolved. Would of been nice to have a sitting room to relax in, but there was only the bar or restaurant. We would most certainly stay here again and would recommend it.

Lovely stay very friendly staff, rooms ok, lovely clean bedding, bed very comfortable. Breakfast great too.

My wife and I have spent two nights here this April and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room at the top and rear of the building has been very comfortable. Breakfasts and the one evening meal we had here were of a high standard. Use of a car parking space behind hotel building was most useful. All in all a happy and successful stay.

Beautiful hotel in the centre of Arundel! In the middle of refurbishment and we had a brand new room which was beautiful! Only thing needed was a shower as we only just had a bath! But we were assured that showers were getting installed. It's an old building so we totally understood. Staff were all lovely and breakfast was included which was very tasty. Continental to start followed by a freshly cooked full English. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

Lovely hotel in the centre of arundel. Try the norfolk tap which is a microbrewery pub in the hotel. The beer is great.

I run an annual convention here and it has always been good. However, this year, it pulled out all the stops. The staff were exceptionally efficient; If I asked for something, it was there immediately. The food was excellent and so was the service at meal times — we were chuffed to be served a dessert inscribed with our 'name' on it. My room, this year, had a proper lighted mirror in the bathroom, so I could actually see what I was doing to put my make-up on. This hotel is right in the heart of the town, so everything is within walking distance.

Paid £118.00 for a double room the room was not nice at all dust all over the room coffee up the walls if anything it was not worth anymore than £50 would never stay again. No hot water for a shower either day we were there. Staff lovely. Breakfast was a good selection of food. Cooked breakfast, fresh fruit etc. Coffee was like dishwasher and no cream.

Great afternoon tea! Staff are lovely! Beautiful wood burning fire too, very cosy! Highly recommended! Xx.

First visitors of the evening at 6. Friendly welcome and delicious mezze dish served in the lovely snug with roaring log fire. Wonderful!

Lovely quiet grand hotel with historical interest. Do stay and eat here rather than in the town as the good is fantastic and reasonably priced and the place is cosy. Have a good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast. History: The Duke of Arundel owns the freehold but hasn't been holding an annual Buckfeast since 1831 due to the cost. The inn was used by soldiers on the way to Portsmouth to fight the arrogant blasphemous Napoleon and then by Canadian soldiers during World War Two. Lots more history too!

Solid 3 star hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Decent food, really comfortable beds. One improvement would be thermostatic valves for shower as it was either scalding or freezing with no inbetween!

Nice old hotel, currently being refurbished. Great breakfasts.

Had an afternoon tea which was very average. Cream on the turn and cake not fresh that day. Came out smelling of smoke from fire. Had better at the garden centre down the road — and cheaper!

Me and my now Husband had our whole wedding day at Norfolk arms hotel on 17th November 2017. What can I say the staff are so lovely and helpful and really took care of everyone. Nicky our wedding planner was Fantastic and Sylvia who kept an eye on our day for us was fantastic also. We also stayed two nights here, the bridal suite was amazing with a huge bathroom absolute winner for me. And our other room we stayed in was lovely also, a restful nights sleep in both rooms. Where do I start with the food, the wedding breakfast which was tomato soup to start a roast dinner for main, then cheesecake for pudding was outstanding everyone enjoyed it. And as for our buffet food in the evening I was amazed. I can't thank everyone enough for being so helpful. And another thing I want to add the lady down at reception, I didnt catch her name. Was so lovely to my mum when she thought she lost her bracelet, which was luckly found everyone kept their eyes open for us. I am just overwhelmed with the service, this hotel is highly recomended if you want a wedding or party they look after you straight from the start. Me and Erik want to say a massive thank you, and you will see us again. Thank you to all of you at Norfolk Arms.

Just back from a lovely weekend spent at this very warm, friendly comfortable hotel, beautiful room 104.
Food was first class with Ben the head chef, our dinner was cooked to perfection… and our waiter Steve couldn’t do enough for us.
Thankyou to Nicky and all your staff we will return without a doubt.

Lovely historic building, friendly staff and nice food. A lovely place for a light lunch.

I stayed at the hotel with 7 of my friends for a murder mystery evening which included a overnight stay. From our arrival until our departure we found the staff friendly and hospitable. We had a 3 course evening meal included within the cost as well as a varied breakfast in the morning which included a full English, cereals, fruit and patisserie. All of which was delicious and presented well. Our rooms themselves were slightly dated. Each room had it's own bathroom and the one I had had some improvement made to the flooring and the decoration but to complete the finish the bathroom suite needed to be updated. 1970's style green suite very retro. I would recommend the hotel and Arundel itself is beautiful… very pleased to have visited and will be returning when the opportunity arises.

We stayed at this lovely hotel 26/10/17, we didn't pre-book and so were able to view the room before we paid for it. The room was large and very clean, the bed was a king size and very comfortable and we were able to open the window really wide to let the cool night air in and hear the owls. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food, both dinner and breakfast, was absolutely delicious. Excellent value for money as well. We will certainly return in a few months.

Went here for a wedding. Food was nice, alcohol was expensive and they poured coke out of a jug. Other than that the venue was nice and staff were accommodating.

Had an excellent stay here for a few days. Food good staff friendly beds comfy and sheets softest cotton ever. Will be back again soon.

Had a lovely afternoon tea. Very good food and service. Only issue was it was a hot day and the room was very warm. We ended up rushing to get out.

Had afternoon tea here yesterday, and was quite disappointed. Came few years ago and it was obvious room was newly reburfished, and was very nice. Let down by there not being any fruit teas at all, just peppermint. Sandwiches were nice, scone was rock hard and dry, and difficult to eat! Cake selection was very poor, no nice pastries or anything, just two very small, similar squares of cake. I go for afternoon tea often, and this was by far the worst, and most uninspired selection I have ever seen! Couldn't fault the young girl that served us, very helpful and polite, but won't be returning I'm afraid.

I was at the hotel for a meeting as a guest. I was totally embarrassed for the organisers. The meals were ordered 90 mins in advance. We arrived on time, short wait, however the wait for the 2nd course was totally unacceptable, despite a senior member of staff being in the room — talking to guests. Many people left before the coffee, due to the slow service. The food was not of a standard I would have expected from such a prominent hotel.

My self and other members of my family stayed at the Norfolk Arms and our experience was unsatisfactory to say the least. My room was ok but the shower unit did not seem to work. If it did, it did not operate as a normal shower would have done. This applied to the other three rooms. One with lino on the floor and another with no telephone. We had our diner in the restaurant, again big disappointment. Portion sizes abysmal and one small tiny bowl of vegetable for 5 people not acceptable. Asked for more and another bowl same size arrived. The food was acceptable but not great and my portion of sea bass I discovered hiding under a small baby boiler potato. The breakfast was a very small portion of full English and certainly a bit rough round the edges. However one redeeming feature was your polish waitress Vye, a lovely girl and certainly a great ambassador for a rather sad and ailing establishment that is in need of a person of dynamic energetic talent and experience in the hospitality business. On one occasion I left my room key with your reception and arrived back in the early evening to be told they did not have it. Luckily the very kind waitress was on the desk at the time and remembered me. With that They offered me a replacement key. I told them this was unacceptable and demanded my original key. This was a breach of security, just think about it. What about procedures.? My key had been left in a tin under the counter. Not good enough.

Just a really nice place to stay in a charming small town. Highly recommended.

We got married at the Norfolk Arms Hotel at the end of May 2013 and had an amazing experience with the hotel. From the moment we decided to hold our wedding there (2 years before the day) Nicky the wedding coordinator was amazing, so helpful and answered all queries and questions quickly. She made the whole thing really personal, and so we would like to say a massive thank you to her. The food, drinks and canapes on the day were lovely, really delicious and there seemed to be lots which was brilliant. The honeymoon suite was beautiful, very large and close enough to the room where we were holding our reception that we could pop in and out, e. G. To top up make — up etc. The other rooms on this floor and the floor above were also very large, and so perfect for my bridesmaids and myself to get ready in. In the mornng before the wedding the hotel kindly brought breakfast up to us while we were getting ready which was very kind. The staff were helpful throughout and I would recommend this hotel for a wedding.
