Good accommodation, good food. Good staff.

Tries to be better than it is. Almost 4 stars but not quite! Why? Attentive staffing, polite and professional but the food tries to be upmarket London Bistro and doesn't quite succeed, BUT, if you have a sweet tooth then wowie they're selection is terrific and preparation and taste quite brilliant. We will go back, actually, on reflection, I think that four stars is probably correct. Tony Perrin.

We drove all the way to The Swan Inn from London and boy we were disappointed It's a normal pub and above average pub food Nothing special and just ok. Will I recommend : only if you live in the neighborhood. Will we return : Nope.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very spacious and comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good and even had fresh honey comb available for breakfast. My only criticism was that the towel rail in the bathroom needed a good clean and the floor could have had a better clean.

A great place to get food or a drink while in a trip to the coast or travelling to Arundel through Petworth.

A group of us stayed at The Swan Inn recently for a Christmas wedding nearby and as you can imagine, it was the perfect festive backdrop to the wedding activities. The service was absolutely wonderful with lovely cosy rooms at a high standard. Our room was on the top floor and it was lovely and quiet with a beautiful bathroom which was very clean. We would absolutely recommend The Swan Inn to anybody who is looking for a wonderful country weekend away! The continental breakfast was great with fresh bread for toast, boiled eggs, ham and cheese amongst other yummy treats and they even provided bacon sandwiches for the morning after the wedding which were delicious. Don't hesitate to book, you won't be disappointed!

Had lunch in The Swan garden today as it was warm and sunny. I had a crayfish and avocado salad with lime sauce, and my husband had gammon, eggs and chips. Both meals were very good but the service was a bit slow as it was fairly busy. We didn't mind too much as we were enjoying the sun, but we heard someone complaining that they had been waiting well over half an hour for their food. We will definitely go back.

Highly recommended. Staff were friendly and service excellent. The food was first class, lamb cutlets perfectly cooked and dreamy dauphinois. Enjoyed sitting out on the scented terrace. Only tiny criticism is that the bread wasn't fresh and more would have been good. Thanks.

The roast is amazing! Best one I have had in a long time! A tad pricey but it's worth it.

Have just returned home from a wonderful weekend at the swan inn, the decor is superb, the staff a delight, the room perfect, the food amazing (would also like to marry the chef) try the date sponge. It is to die for! the garden is beautiful, the owners amazing, they really have put their heart and soul into this wonderful oasis of chic, calm, spottlessly clean, beautiful inn. We will definatley be returning soon, I could not fault it in any way, and as a clean freak this is the best place I have ever stayed in my life, the restaurant was so good we ate there both nights we stayed, and to find staff that were friendly, caring, well dressed and knowledgable was a delight. Perfect.

Booked this hotel for our wedding party last year amid great reviews. Our experience was the worst I have ever experienced. The new owner manager was rude and lacked any interpersonal skills. The majority of staff were new and did not know what to do the remaining staff were also disgruntled and rude and abrupt. Checking in with children in the evening I was not helped with any luggage, given any information about the hotel or where to go for breakfast or if I needed help but was asked to give a £250 retainer. When asked why as I had already paid the rather inflated fee of £130 per night. The man insisted and asked how much I was willing to sign for. Deciding not to argue with the rather poorly dressed man as I had children who needed to go to bed I agreed to pay. The majority of the rooms were fairly clean although the brides room had sick on the balcony and the flowers the groom had delivered earlier that day and asked for them to be put in the room were left in the bar. The shower in our room was broken with water spraying everywhere and what was worse, we were unable to turn the tab in order to reduce the temperature, subsequently the children had to shower in another room. Reporting any issues to the staff and owner manager was greeted with more rudeness and disdain. The owner tried to change the shower head whilst we were all trying to get ready for the wedding without any regard for the wedding party.
