Really lovely food, large portions pork and beef melted in your mouth crispy potatoes and large yorkshires tasty vegetables, attentive staff, they made my daughters early birthday really nice. Will definitely be back.

We Hired the Lagoon View bar for a birthday party, and were beyond pleased. The staff arranging were very attentive, on the night the bar staff were amazing — helped in any and every way they could, and there was also security also provided. The function room itself, has a lovely lay out, a decent size bar and own smoking area. Coat rails were also provided and a great music system.

Cracking roast with more than plenty on the plate. Friendly staff and also family friendly. Will definitely go again soon. Beers roast and great atmosphere.

We loved our recent stay at the Gather Inn. Gemma an Tania are extraordinary hosts, all staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. We stayed in one of the new renovated rooms, it was tastefully decorated, very comfortable beds, great shower all in a spacious room. Thanks for an awesome stay, 5 stars from me.

The most beautiful roast I've had in a long time! I wasn't even intending on eating, but when I kept seeing roasts go by me and then watched the staff eat theirs, my eyes were popping out of my head, I was salivating, and that was that. A done deal. No regrets. Would definitely eat one of those bad boys again and perhaps try a midweek meal. … I also like that the food is sourced locally. Kudos to the chefs. You're doing a grand job!

Wow… the roasts are unreal the food and service was amazing, came for my nephews birthday with 30 of us and we all left very happy.

What a very understated place this is!, i’ve now had two dinners here and on both occasions there were out standing! growing up with a chef as a father I have been used to fine dining and food, finding a good establishments these days are hard to find! As the majority do not put any passion and love into their food but here the presentation and quality of local product and the use off good seasoning and herbs hard made my visit enjoyable I would highly recommend this to anyone well done chef! People who recognised enough Oliver.

Based on cost and comfort, I rate this place as such despite it being general a budget hotel. It really is only 20 mins walk from Hove and a further 5 from Brighton. Great location, therefore, if you don't want to spend £300 to stay in Brighton on a Saturday night. I stayed here last weekend, and its bar, staff and food were great, with more than adequate and comfortable rooms. If you are after a place to sleep, that ticks boxes for value, look no further.

Good pub over all but is let down by their debit card policy. Must spend £10 to use a card. Rediculuous if you're on your own or even with a friend if you just want s pint each as that comes to under. Get with the times gather inn. Most pubs have no minimum spend.

Friendly staff but the hotel is very run down & needs a good clean, Our double plug socket in our room was faulty & would only work when the kettle was plugged in & you jiggled it! Reported it but nothing done during our 3 day stay.

Nice pub/ guest house close to Hove Lagoon. Good selection of drinks and local gins. Freshly prepared food and a nice outdoor area — what more could you want!

Attended a private function here. Bar staff were great and the buffet delicious. DJ that they recommended was very good at keeping great music flowing. Fantastic evening.

Last minute booking. Managed to get a family room. Room 13 actually had 6 beds in it. We only needed 4. The room has a big balcony with views over the"lagoon" and the sea beyond. The balcony could do with some chairs though. It was a very warm day and the room was like a furnace but they brought up a fan for the night which made it just perfect. Breakfast was really good with a good vegetarian option and nice views.

Recently upgraded. Lovely window views. Good food. Friendly staff. Not absolutely incredible in any one way but a worthwhile place to visit for a drink or meal. Pool table and quiet during the day.

They were extremely helpful and professional from start to finish, and they worked really hard on the night to ensure the party ran smoothly. The room was set up beautifully and the buffet they provided was excellent. All the guests commented on what a great venue it was, and there was ample space for a DJ and for everyone to have a good old dance as well. I would highly recommend the Gather Inn if you are looking for a function room for a party etc. And I can't thank Tania and all her staff enough for making my 50th a night to remember!

We took kids to learn to ride a bike on the lagoon area. I nice meal was what we deserved after two hours of being patient with the kids. The pub was very homely and welcome when we visited it after the hard work. Food was fresh and reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and welcoming. All in all a wonderful experience. Also the sunset view from outside was beautiful. Highly recommended.

I popped in here to await my husband whilst he was at Monster Studio down the road. Pleasantly surprised, I have to admit I had always thought it a place to avoid but I was wrong. The staff & people in there are friendly & welcoming. I felt very comfortable sitting by the huge Windows with fantastic sea views. I only had coffee & some olives to while away my time but looked at the menu and saw some of the food coming out — I definitely plan to be back to eat! No parking, but serve food til 10pm so worth a look. Great alternative to the Lagoon cafe (which is also fantastic)

One of the best roasts in town! The food is always amazing, service and friendliness from the staff is top notch and it’s dog friendly which is a must for us. I would recommend highly to anyone!

Given the location, it's very serviceable. I suspect it's main haunters are fisherman just come off their boats. The staff are very nice.

We were in the downstairs function room which was simply but nicely decorated and had views over Hove lagoon. A good variety of buffet food was provided and the quality was excellent. The staff made us feel very welcome.

Lovely venue for functions with booking rooms. I can't tell you about the rooms coz I didn't get the opportunity to view one… only problem is it's pricey.

We had fish and chips, home made tartare sauce which was the best I have ever tasted, the food came out hot and the service was excellent … The only thing I wasnt keen on was the wooden board it was served on, it looked grubby I think you should use plates, there was a split in my board which I think harbour germs,
But overall 100%. Will return if we are in the area … good music also, a realy nice lunch out x.

Exemplary food, we especially liked the parsnip crisps with our Sunday roast. Excellent wine selection as well. However, the crowning glory to our meal were the cocktails we had afterwards — apart from the fabulous views over the lagoon and sea that is. We will be returning for a weekday meal very soon. Would not hesitate to recommend this venue to all.

I didn't deal with the staff, so I'm not sure how the service here was. Our room, for three adults and two babies was ridiculously small. It should only be sold as a double room, for 2 people. And, as if it weren't small enough, there was a superfluous giant lamp taking up more space, without even an available outlet to plug it into for use. No mixer tap in the bathroom, makes me feel like the proprietor doesn't care tobe upto Date for their guests sakes. The room was right on the street, therefore somewhat noisy, and it wasn't possible to open the curtains. But okay, it was cheap! So for the money, acceptable.

Small rooms located right next to a pub right at the sea side in Brighton. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was small and the shower pressure almost non existent. Hot water kettle, complimentary teas, coffee, milk and sugar was provided. This is an ok place for a short stay and close to Brighton Beach Pier.

Great hotel and fantastic people. The food was excellent and didn't have to wait long. All in all agreat place to stay. Will be going back.

In the Middle of the night there were a lot of noices coming from the street. But the beds were decent.

We went to the launch of the new menus. It was a delight. Very good food, very helpful and friendly service. I had the salt and pepper squid, which was tender, with just enough seasoning and yummy homemade chilli chutney. For main course I had the Sea Bass. Beautifully cooked. The dessert was a Lemon tart, a perfect end to a mouth watering meal. Like someone said once "I'll be back"

One of the best atmospheres, beautiful food and a wide variety of drink, also really clean fresh guest rooms with amazing views. Staff will really go out of their way to give you the best experience possible! Will definitely be spending more time here in the future! Thank you the Gather Inn x.

Came along to try out the new menu with three friends and couldn't fault the food and service. A varied and well constructed menu with great presentation and flavours throughout, down to chefs own pickles and jams!

When I go out for sunday lunch I expect it to be better than what I could do at home. Unfortunately this was not the case as the Yorkshire puddings were burnt and the carrot very undercooked. The meat itself was tasty but I expect a better standard for the quite expensive price.

Decent rooms. No fuss. Relaxed and friendly staff. Really well cooked food. Good value for money.

I've both stayed and eaten at The Gather Inn and can't speak highly enough of the standard of food (Sunday roast — wow) and the room and service that I received. Convenient short bus or taxi ride away from Brighton centre with off-street parking and homely rooms at a great price.

I had to cancel my booking at short notice because of a plumbing emergency in my flat and they wouldn't give me a refund. I guess that's their prerogative, but next time I need to stay in the area I will look elsewhere for accommodation. Didn't actually get to stay here and I'm sure the rooms are very nice.

This pub is nicknamed the "lackluster" more staff then punters mediocre food and crap vibe.

Their was nothing to like the pub was dirty food terrible & owners were rude no heating broken door handles cold smelly rooms.

After arriving to find a heavily soiled toilet, we dined in the restaurant, had a couple of drinks and retired to bed, only to be woken and told to come back downstairs to settle up as this is their policy, even though the bar maid said we could settle up on departure. On the day of leaving, just before 10am nobody was manning the desk so we couldn't settle up our bar tab, so a few days later I phoned to ask for a copy of the invoice and was rudely told this is not policy. Therefore I still have no idea of how much has been taken off my card. The gather inn is a very unprofessionally run buissness. Rooms very tatty, old uncomfortable beds, shared bathrooms, a b&b with no breakfast on a monday, Steer well clear of this place to avoid serious dissapointment.

Five of us shared a family room. The room was larger than expected, clean and pleasant. All five single beds were made up with freshly laundered sheets and bedding. The staff were all polite and friendly and extremely willing to accommodate any requests. In the early hours the building was struck by lightening but the on site caretaker kept us informed and and our minds at ease. The location is fantastic for enjoying Brighton & Hove at it's best. Will definitely stay here again.
