The staff here are absolutely fantastic can’t do enough for you. Lovely restaurant food superb. Right on the beach what more could you ask for, bar staff even got special bottle of red wine I asked for, for my husband.

This last week we had a 40th birthday celebration for my sister. A private meal in the Strand Room. Start to finish the experience was just fabulous. Setting itself is beautiful but experience absolutely made by gorgeous food and excellent attentive staff. Would highly recommend. Thanks!

A huge thank you to all the staff at The Cooden Beach for making my 85th birthday party such a success. On an extremely busy day nothing was too trouble and everybody’s dietary requirements were handled beautifully. A perfect sea view table made for a lovely setting and special mention to Sam who’s attention to detail contributed to our lovely ‘afterparty’ in the lounge with tea, coffee and CAKE!

We had a wonderful family birthday celebratory lunch. All the staff looked after us beautifully and made the day so special.

We love the ambience — never stayed as live locally — attended weddings held there — very often frequent the spa facilities with food after — both the tavern and restaurant do exceptional food and wine is first class — would thoroughly recommend this hotel and right on the beach too with exceptional views.

Came here last weekend to celebrate a friends Birthday, pleasant staff customer service and you don't get left waiting very long for service. It's a bit too bright though and very noisy making conversation a bit strained, a bit like school dinners comes to mind. However, the food and drink were all to a very good standard and each meal course arrived simultaneously for everyone and no long intervals between. Disabled access appears to be fairly good and toilets were clean. Lovely evening apart from the noise and a bit too bright.

Fantastic location, right on the beach with beautiful terrace! Wonderful food, is also suitable for coffee (tea) and cakes. Since the hotel is not located on a main road, it is quite quiet and yet easily accessible. Train station is located in the immediate vicinity. The region offers many beautiful and interesting sights to experience. Happy to return!

Sent an email but never got a courteous response saying feedback received. Went 2 weeks ago for a brunch with family and our children and sat in the room that backs on to the garden. Tea and coffee took an age to arrive and breakfast orders were mixed up. Scrambled eggs solid, cold and bland — Think I have had better eggs on an aeroplane. Cold toast arrived separately after breakfasts had been eaten. Food aside, sadly the waiting staff are the major let down. They seem unint…erested and when an order is requested, it's like they are being put out or inconvenienced. Also we were abruptly told the open back doors aren't an exit out on to the garden although it was a hot day and they were wide open. Our children were loving going in and out to play in the garden but the manner in which we were told was rude. When I said we were leaving anyway, a waitress replied with "perfect" and a sarcastic smile. Don't think we would return as we get nicer meals elsewhere with friendlier staff. Just think the staff attitude could do with some looking at, maybe employing some staff who like smiling and serving customers would do a world of good as it seems a lot of reviews mention the same point. Will visit Cooden and the beautiful beaches and scenery but doubt we would visit the restaurant again unless the staff and service improves.

Located right on the beech the location is stunning, Rooms have been renovated recently and very well equipped and decorated. Even the single rooms!
Staff are gré and very helpful, so why the three stars? The food basically, whilst nothing fundamentally wrong, I have to base it on the cost of the food, it simply doesn’t match up. The portion sizes are laughable especially if your a northern monkey as I am, the nibbles were listed as chorizo and halloumi skewers, for four quid you get two toothpicks with a single piece of halloumi and two chorizo. The main was not much better pretty average food with a very small portion of potato dauphinois, the green veg was extra! Even though I was not paying for it I felt a bit cheated! Again nothing terrible but considering the cost, just not commensurate!
Go enjoy just have all three courses if you are even slightly hungry.

Service for afternoon tea here was exceptional. Lovely ambience. Great food and coffee/tea. Have also been here for a wedding reception in the past which we were all pleased with all round. Stayed as a guest for a night. Reasonable price, single rooms were a fraction small, as it is a period building. But very comfortable and a very happy customer. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again. Also a family member has said conference buffets here are of a very high standard, which she uses yearly. Many thanks to the staff for these reasons.

Visited the Cooden Tavern for a meal and the place never disappoints. Great menu cooked in the open plan kitchen and reasonably priced. Excellent decor and family friendly, that sort of atmosphere.

We stayed in an accessible room. The photo shows the ensuite wetroom, which is spacious, but the WC supports are perhaps not quite ideally placed. The bedroom is rather more cramped and a wheelchair user might find difficulty in transferring to the bed. Both accessible rooms are situated in a separate building from the main hotel with a long access ramp and locked door. This is no problem in fine weather, but might be uncomfortable for getting to the restaurant in other conditions.

A truly wonderful experience! rooms first class, staff couldn't do enough for you, food excellent, leisure club just enough to get fit and swimming pool relaxing jacuzzi steam room sauna all there and Hotel right on the beach over looking the sea what more can u want from life?

Just came back from this great hotel yesterday and all ready I miss it but all the staff are so polite and all they do is make sure all of there guests are satisfied and by god all my family was. The only fault to this place is the pool, it could be a little bit bigger but i'm only saying it from my perspective because I love to swim and I do a lot of competitions in swimming but you can only really do a light swim also the pool at our stay was absolutely freezing although it says it is heated and yet again the drop from shallow to deep is a very big gap it can be quite dangerous for small adults and for children so be careful. As I said before the service here is absolutely great, the food is amazing, here there is nothing called small portions it is only big portions so you never go hungry at all. My whole family absolutely loved as did I, we loved it so much we have already booked for next year already. On the room side of things be careful if your in room 106 because the floor is all dipped suddenly you are all high then your gaining loads of speed to the bathroom and the bathroom door is very stiff to close, we closed it once and we got stuck thankfully it did give in but the door could be replaced.

Another excellent meal at the Brasserie last evening. Despite being Easter Sunday and busy, the service was excellent and the food fabulous. We have never had a bad meal or needed to complain. Andre the Executive Host was full of character, very attentive and as with all the waiters and waitresses served everyone with a smile. The Brasserie is very attractively laid out with comfortable furniture and we love going there.

We went to Cooden Beach Hotel for a Mother’s Day lunch we used the set menu. The food was extremely mediocre very little choice (just 2 options) vegetables PAP very overdone portions very small won’t be going again in a hurry beware of the set menu. I feel I could have got a better meal for half price almost anywhere else.

On first seeing this hotel don't be fooled by its slightly disheveled exterior. The interior is nicely fitted out and quite modern. Booked for two nights in a sea view room. Our sea view room was cosy yet spacious, there are 8 rooms in a separate block which is nice and quiet but does mean a short walk outside to the block. The room was adequately kitted out although only a limited selection of tea is provided, no bottled water etc. There was only a double bed in the room, no king size bed, which for the price I would expect. The restaurant is the real star of this hotel and really brings up the standard of the hotel. The food is quick, well presented and very tasty. The restaurant has a nice ambience with its glass front looking out over the sea. Breakfast (included with the room) was delicious and all hot food made to order. There was also a good selection of fresh fruit, cereals, juices and pastries available. The bar offers good food also and has a good array of gins, although the selection of lagers and beers is lacking. The leisure club (towels provided on reception) was good for the hotel size, with a small gym area with treadmill, weights etc, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and small pool. The staff around the hotel were friendly and always accommodated any unusual requests we had.

I was here for a party, the staff were great and quick to help. Food was lovely. Really enjoyed our evening here.

The staff really do make this place — and that's not to say that the other elements lack merit, only that the warmth and hospitality of the staff is second to none. Really nice venue, right on the beach, with a good selection of food and drink presented really well. The rooms are a good standard, although can be on the cool side, and the breakfast is well worth getting out of bed for.

Lovely hotel. Great views and right next to the beach. The rooms are adequate and well maintained. The restaurant is serves delicious food which is well worth a visit. Great bar with delicious cocktails. The staff could not be more polite and helpful. We stayed here a couple of times and really enjoyed it. One of my favourite hotels in this part of the country. If you are planning a golfing holiday, that is perfect. If you have kids and want a beach holiday, this is perfect.

What a lovely place. I never been to this part of the world but I have enjoyed my stay. Shame the weather was bad, but the hotel made up for the poor weather. Nice room and really good food. Combined with nice and friendly staff I can now recommend this place 100%. Price not bad also.

Everybody was kind & helpful. The room was lovely. The basement pool was not suitable for laps but was warm & friendly. Very deep one end very shallow the other. The hotel is right by the railway station which is the only means of public transport. The hotel was very busy with a fair during the day but upstairs it was quiet. It must be lovely in the summer to sit outside. Thanks to you all.

The breakfast is great and it's included. There's a panoramic sea view, which is great to wake up to. The Wi-Fi is free and fast enough to stream over in my room. The beds are comfortable and the staff are polite and well motivated. There's parking and it's close to the station too. The spa is probably going to be due for a refurb soon but everything was working, showers, sauna, steam room pool etc. There wasn't any loud doors slamming at night or wild parties, even though the hotel normally has weddings, very quiet. Definitely a very good 3 star, more like a 4 star hotel.

It's a very comfortable & welcoming hotel. They've done a great refurbishment which has upgraded the public areas. The new gin bar & extended restaurant are great. The rooms are really comfortable. The team are friendly, helpful & make you very welcome.

We had booked for 13 people for a golden wedding anniversary celebration. The service was excellent, the food was very good, everything was presented to us in good time despite being busy. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting an exceptional evening meal.

My wife and I got married here last night 20/10/2017 and can’t fault a single thing throughout the entire day. The food, the service, the room’s, the staff, everything was amazing and nothing was to much trouble. A special thank you to the Manager and Assistance Manager who went above and beyond there job role (never met such competent, polite staff). I’ve been consistently let down and disappointed with all kinds of businesses recently, it’s a real breath of fresh air to have somewhere that is doing it so well. I can’t recommend this place enough, you get one chance to make sure your wedding goes perfectly and I can assure you… The Cooden Beach Hotel will make sure it goes exactly how YOU want it to! Again thank you to everyone at The Cooden Beach Hotel for making our day so special.

My granddaughter got married here today the day was very good all went well the food was great the staff were great and we had a great time. I would recommend.

Had a fantastic meal in the brasserie on the beach. Food was top class. The"ginger"Waitress went out of her way to accommodate my very fussy wife who had the crab minus the chilli and then the pasta but had the tails taken off the fan tailed prawns. I had the ham hock pate and the pork. The presentation was superb. Top marks to the food and the friendly proffesional service.

My experience of the Tavern at Sunday lunchtime was disappointing. The staff were polite but I had to leave my table on several occasions to alert staff to order sweet and then the bill as the staff were not returning to check us at all. The food was very disappointing in the Tavern. Frozen chips and a poorly presented bacon and cheese jacket potato. Very poor. The meal was overpriced with no starters on offer at all.

Went there for a meeting, so didn't see any rooms, but clean function/conference room. Comfortable chairs and good bar service.

My Sister and a friend visited Bexhill for the food festival on the weekend of 3rd Sept. We all enjoyed the De La Warr Pavilion. I suggested we go for tea at The Cooden Beach Hotel (as I had a plan to make a surprise booking for Christmas or New Year). I had to order at the bar which seemed very strange as staff were serving in the lounge and terrace. However I did as instructed and ordered two cream teas and one cappuccino. However when we found a table in the small room leading from the bar we had to ask for the table to be cleaned as it had the remnants of previous occupants. Our pre-paid order for the cream teas arrived but not my Sisters coffee! I had to go back to the bar and remind the gentleman at the bar as the waitress had forgotten! All in all very disappointing for such a terrific location right on the beach, we shall not be booking for Christmas or the New Year as this was meant to be a surprise booking for my family and of course I change my mind that day! Note: Also very poor value for a cream tea (costing over £6) which usually consists of two scones with butter, cream & jam. This was one scone, very little jam and served on a very silly slither of glass! … What's wrong with a plate?

We started with drinks on the sun terrace which was beautiful with an unspoiled ocean view. Later we ate in the brasserie which is newly created. It was very nicely done with a modern feel and, again, great sea views. The food was sadly somewhat over priced and disappointing. We ordered the gourmet steak burger which was a good size with lovely home made chips. The steak in the burger was very 'well done' which was a shame — would have preferred medium or to have been offered the choice — at £14 for a burger it should have been cooked to preference. Our second dish was salmon with wilted spinach. This was a very small portion — the salmon was chunky but that was all the dish consisted of apart from a bed of spinach. This was very bland, except for a tiny scallop on top which was delicious! The dish was so disappointing I didn't eat more than half of it — no flavour whatsoever. I did raise this issue with our waitress who deducted the full price of the dish from the bill. Other food coming out did look delicious and service was good. We would try again here, ordering different dishes but ultimately feel the food did not warrant the prices.

Great food, friendly staff, wonderful gin, adequate standard room, if you need a train this is really close by, large car park but a little noisy if you are at the back as is the trains but didn't spoil our 2 night trip, lovely beach setting.

We has a lovely day and night at the hotel with a beautiful sea View, the food was excellent and the staff very helpful especially as l had left an item of clothing in the room which they kindly posted to me. We will return again to enjoy the experience.

Went for a wedding. The drinks are way overpriced but that's hotels for you. Layout is lovely. The room the reception was in lead out to a large grassy area and then the beach. Beautiful views and lovely decor.

Having been to The Cooden Beach Hotel many times we thought we would go after the re vamp. Parking hadn't changed you either park behind the hotel or in front in the horse shoe. On arrival we were extremely impressed with the new look it's spacious and looks very sumptuous with big leather seats for relaxing in after or before a meal. The bar area is vast and again lots of seating for relaxing has the views are stunning. The food was amazing has ever (I recomend the Cooden Beach fish and chips) Other people of our party had the Sunday roast again we could not fault it, with desserts if you needed one had an excellent choice. Then comes the service … We ordered a bottle of red the poor waiter had a broken cork in the first bottle after a struggle so he went of to get another bottle which was some time on his return he also struggled with the second bottle. The waitress we had was pleasant but you could tell they needed more training no eye contact at all. Then our food arrived after being waltzed around the room has the waiters didn't know where the tables were. Please train your staff to be more confident, most were very young and I did feel for the waiter with the bottle. We love this place and will be looking forward​ to coming again soon and I do hope that the training of your waiters and waitresses gets better has they play a huge part in the overall experience.

Stayed here for a wedding evening. Hotel is lovely. Straight on pebble beach, lovely views. Restaurant was superb, service excellent. Nice but dated spa, but it's all there, pool, jacuzzi (camera above be careful) sauna and steam room. Will be back. £160 for 1 night BB.

Resturant carvery excellent, waiters first class plus value for money, cannot say the same for the taverna.

We only had an afternoon drink in here, while driving through this area. Quite pricey though. I loved their beer garden right by the sea. Dogs are welcomed in here, there are a few water-bowls for dogs around the beer garden :-D It was clean inside, but the decor looked a bit dated and could do with a bit of modernisation. One out of two sinks in the ladies toilet was broken and the water was pouring from it non-stop, really hope they will get it fixed soon ;) Overall, this is a lovely spot for a drink or food with an outstanding sea-view :-).
