Great place to stay within walking distance of the centre. Free parking out the front. Rooms are great, the food is nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

I was happy with the acomodations and I liked the bathroom. Everything is clean. I spend 3 nights there, and I must confess I was enjoying even the place is not the best if you are not by car. It would be 4 stars. But the last night I man slept in the same room as I did. I contacted them by email and nothing happened. I checked my book email and I booked a female com. Why was a man able to go in a female room?

Great for a one night stay for a night out. World cup was on downstairs in the lobby. Bar downstairs was great prices. Easy check in and parking. Don't provide towels or any toiletries in the room, you have to pay for them at the front desk. Windows in the room don't open but luckily there is air con. Very nice shower and a safe in the room for belongings.

Great place to stay, big rooms nice bathrooms, reasonably priced. Food good at great prices, you also get a bit of exercise with a walk into the town not far at 0.8 miles.

At first for £29 I was apprehensive! BUT after staying I was VERY impressed. It's a gorgeous place. But go for an ensuite! The shower (no bath) is huge and could fit us both in (saving water) and it was clean and well equipped and an absolute bargain for the money… Only downside, the windows don't open but there is aircon in the rooms and there's nowhere to sit outside. I would definitely stay there again… Amazed! Oh and no tea and coffee facilities in the room but for that money I didn't care.

This hostel is the best I have ever been to in the UK. It's large number of amenities such as self catering, a lounge, a bar, a restaurant and en-suite rooms give it th same standard as a 4-5 star hotel, but with much lower prices. Both the dormatries and the private rooms are immaculate and both come with an en-suite bath room and television. Customers can hire towels and hairdryers at the front desk and buy a large number of other travel essentials such as toiletries, and padlocks. A well deserved 5 stars from me.

Great staff, clean place, good food.

Found this whilst seeking accommodation for an event at the stadium, literally everything was booked. We found YHA Cardiff to be a no-frills stop over at a very reasonable price, with space for 5 in one room. The bar was very nice and I highly recommend the breakfast in the morning, a real bargain and would use again. Don't forget to take your own towels! :)

I found the staff polite, frendly, approcable and willing to help. I will be back with a friend. The food is very palatable and lots of it. Come stay and still have dosh to spend For those nice gifts.

One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. A bit out of the way from the main center. But the layout is really good, it's increadibly clean & well maintained. The dorms are really cozy & comfortable. Staff is extremely helpfull.

Best accommodation I have ever been at. Staff are just brilliant friendly and helpful. I made friends with everyone there a place well worth staying at I will definitely return for another stay.

The room was nice and the breakfast was very good. Very very elongated coffee, no hot chocolate, and much more to eat past 8:30.

Functional clean rooms, lovely bathroom. You can hire towels as they're not included. Only a short taxi ride to shopping centre for about £5

Hostal Comodo, with rooms of "hotel" with own bathroom and spacious. It has a restaurant open 24 h and a great attention.

Spent the night here a couple weeks ago, lovely hotel with 2 double beds in the room! got a bar and restaurant and hats off to lee for the cooked breakfast! Outstanding. Great place to stay really good value for money.

The hostel is located a short walk from Cardiff city centre, with road and foot access (though crossing some roads is a nightmare in Cardiff). It was kept clean and tidy, staff were very friendly, and all bedding/towels were well cleaned too. It's very reasonably priced and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I would definitely go back in the future and recommend it to friends/family!

The Hostel is in a good location close to all the main attractions. The rooms are a decent size and clean. There was also a 24 hour service desk and a cafe / shop in the lobby. Check-in and Check-out were both quick and straight forward.

Big size room, quiet, very friendly staff, good location, free parking. They have reasonable prices. Bar and hot breakfast if you want. And also self catering. Very pleased with the place.

Very good hostel especially for a large group to share rooms. Very clean. You have to rent towels. Nice bar. Wi-Fi. Bad point was the breakfast ordering system. It is all you can eat but only one item at a time then go back up and get more. A peculiar system I suppose put in place by incongruous People.

The room we had was large enough and the location of the YHA was good. The city centre is within walking distance. Within our stay, the hotel had problems with the air conditioning system and our room was heating up to 30°C. They offered us free breakfast and a free beer at the bar for these inconveniences. Another negative point is, that the windows in the rooms are closed and it's not possible to open them.

Around 5mins drive from Central Cardiff. At YHA Cardiff Central we were warmly greeted and checking in was fast and straight forward. Parking is free during your stay so you'll be asked for your car registration. Wifi is also free. The room was good for the price we paid, it had an en-suite bathroom, both were clean. Breakfast was good, although being a meat eater I didn't pay much attention to if there were good veggie options (£6.25 for adults and £3.25 for under 10s). The staff were the highlight of our stay, they were very nice and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Inexpensive, clean, and simple. Our room had an en-suite bathroom, which was nice. Beds were not terrible but not great. We skipped the breakfast and left early in the morning.

I stayed here for two nights in January. It was very difficult to find on foot in the dark, but a few locals helped assure me at one point that I was going in the right direction! Once I arrived the experience was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful, and let me rent a phone charging adaptor for free, which I overlooked in packing! Despite having a room with four beds, I only had one roommate at a time and plenty of privacy. The kitchen was a valuable resource and well-stocked with appliances, dishes, and utensils. There's plenty of room for groups to eat together at the long tables. Once daylight came, I discovered that the location, though difficult to find initially, was very convenient and an easy walk to a number of restaurants, the train station, and the Millennium Centre and bay. I can't wait to stay here again on my next visit to Cardiff.

To be honest I wasn't expecting much. But I found the room to be clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is comparable to what you expect from a premier Inn or travel lodge. It is also a short walk into Cardiff city centre.

The hostel was amazing. The rooms are clean and well furnished and the staff were very helpful. They were happy to give advise on places to visit and things to do. Also the facilities were good and it was nice having use of a kitchen. I would defiantly recommend this place and visit again.

The place it's self was spotless. Nice big room and comfy bed. The only downside is no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. There is a bar in reception that's open till very late and you can purchase none and alcoholic drinks there.

Had a private room with bathroom. Was very clean with a comfy bed. Standard of a Travelodge I'd say. Staff friendly and helpful. If it is hot ask for a fan and they will get you one. Is about a 20 minute walk from Cardiff Central railway station. Would stay again if in Cardiff.

Family rooms at the hotel chains level but at the cost of a hostel.

I was really surprised at the quality of this hostel which is more akin to those that I've been to abroad than those in the UK. It looks like this was a hotel previously and the YHA have since refreshed the reception area with a nice bar and common area. Prices were very reasonable with the YHA membership discount and parking is included. The location of the hostel is quite central but there is a 10-15 minute walk to the city centre. I had a private room which was spacious, clean, and well furnished with a TV in the room and air conditioning. There is elevator access to the upper floors. Wifi is included in the price of your room but I found this to be incredibly unreliable so it might be worth finding a coffee shop nearby if you really need access to the internet. As is usually the case with a YHA hostel the staff were very friendly and enthusiastic about the local area.

Very modern and stylish hostel it felt more like a stylish hotel. Lots of space in the rooms and a TV included. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The bar is well stocked and cheap. It's a short enough walk to get into town but there is nothing in the area near the hostel.

Great place. Warm, friendly check-in. 2 wings to the former Mercure hotel: the usual dorms and family rooms on one side and premier, en-suite, former hotel rooms on the other with TV, safe and air con. Only experienced the Premier Rooms so cannot comment on others. Really good reception/bar/dining area. Helpful staff. Lovely breakfast: above par in YHA ranks. Ample parking. Situated adjacent to Bute East Dock; 10-15 mins comfortable walk from city centre and 20 mins walk from Cardiff Bay / Millennium Centre. Would return.

One of the finest quality hostels in Europe, and rivals most hotels I think. Spotless clean room (not even dust… amazing), a great self-catering kitchen area, laundry facilities on site, restaurant and bar on site (good food too), and just a few minutes walk from the rest of Cardiff. Will definitely stay here again.

The staff ia absolutely amazing. Very helpful and thoughtful. Big clean rooms, nice fresh bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, big parking lot… one of the best places I've stayed in.

5 star experience from a budget hostel, rooms were clean and of a 3 star standard, breakfast nothing special, but rooms were most adequate, good size, and bathrooms great, highly recommend, lovely staff too.

The room had the best facilities and truly lived up to its 5 star status. I loved breakfast there each morning and the service was absolutely amazing.

Great youth hostel, everything you'd expect really and it's nice modern clean and tidy. Mega breakfast too.

The hostel has all the items you would need. The beds are good (we had a bunk bed), and the breakfast was adequate. Only people is the location is a bit hard to get to via walking with it being location off a busy round about. Otherwise a great choice if staying in Cardiff.

Hostel and staff a five star plus, UNFORTUATLY Booked family room that had corridor of clients using as aglorified knocking shop. Not for families! Up all night because of drunken louts and screaming girls. Staff need a medal!

Just a short walk from the centre of Cardiff this hotel is fantastic value for money and a must stay if you're visiting. It may be budget priced but this is not a budget hotel. With everything you'd expect from a hotel charging twice the price you can't go wrong. Very clean, modern and smart. Very comfortable. Great shower and a reasonably priced restaurant and bar. Free parking and great, polite service. 5

It was really nice stay in this hote. Reception people's are the best people they have in there stuff. They very helpful n God attitude. Thanks I will come back soon.

Great place to crash and refuel.

The hostel opened in March of this year and I was pleasantly surprised how nice the reception staff was. I stayed at the other Cardiff hostel which was a bus ride from the centre, the new one even though a distance out of Cardiff was a fifteen minute journey by foot. There are tvs in each room which may in certain circumstances become a nuisance but my experience was good. The showers were good with hot water and a good flow of water. I would definitely stay there again without much hesitation. Cannot understand why the person who gave it an awful review stayed there three times. I have stayed in many hostels some have been filthy so left after a couple of hours and will never return to them. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Hostel is cheap and clean, no complaints there. Just location sucks.

Alright, a bit warm in the summer though.

Without exception the worst hostelling experience I have had. Have been using youth hostels for many years and been a happy traveller in 60+ YHAs. Noisy, unhelp, ridiculously poor facilities exacerbated by worse management. Lone travellers are rammed into over-crowded Room 1 which has a dual-aspect of a busy dual carriageway and mainline railway. Even if all of the other rooms are empty. Doubtless this saves effort for the staff. You are advised not to start using the laundry after 8pm as a wash will take 3 hours! in the ridiculous domestic appliance, and the staff get upset if you then use the tumble drier! I have stayed on 3 occasions without improvement.
