Myself and Family had a lovely stay at Dunalastair hotel in the half term holidays. From arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome. Our room was huge and family friendly, with all the extra touches needed to make it comfortable stay. My two children were the only ones in the hotel and the staff were great with them. Anything I asked or requested was met with a positive attitude and nothing was too much for the staff in helping. I unfortunately became poorly on the morning of check out and the staff were terrific, they did not pressure us to vacate the room and gave my husband guidance to the local doctors. I would like to thank all at the hotel in making our experience one to remember for all the right reasons. I willDefinitely return and I highly recommend.

I booked a room for July for my husbands birthday. I emailed the hotel to request a table reservation. No reply. I emailed twice after that and again no response. Given the bad reviews on TripAdvisor and that I had no response to 3 emails, I cancelled the room reservation as clearly due to the location one would want dinner in the hotel. Such a disappointment.

Amazing stay, staff were excellent. Would defo hurry back. If your looking to get away from busy life this is the place to chill!

Stunning location. Welcoming reception, very friendly. Second to none service. The Chef has the touch of the food gods… celery and roasted garlic soup, mushroom and truffle oil risotto blew me away. Denzil and Ravi excellent service on the bar. The lady cleaning our room so welcoming and helpful. Decor wow! Excellent selection of wine and food. Couldn’t fault it — well done team Dunalastair!

Had an overnight in one of the Luxury Suites as a late birthday gift from my partner! It was just perfect in every way, the staff, the room, the food was spot on, definitely recommend & will be back!

We had a great overnight stay at the Dunalastair hotel for a little “babymoon”. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the suite we had was gorgeous and the hotel restaurant meal was absolutely delicious. Couldn’t recommend this hotel more for a quiet, peaceful getaway. Thank you everyone for a great stay.

Great covid 19 mini moon. Made to feel very welcome. Amazing views, great food, never had beef like it before. Sylvia and Raul both great staff members who made us both very welcome Only thing I would of liked was a nice bath in my room but I couldn’t fault it.

The difference between a good hotel and an excellent hotel is the staff.
*First impressions count and every member of staff we dealt with was professional, courteous, helpful, and friendly.
*Comfortable suites, delicious food, relaxing surroundings.
*Special mention to Sylvia from the restaurant — her efficient, friendly manner made our stay feel homely. It’s always good to chat. *Her knowledge of the local area was invaluable.
*Particularly enjoyed the 7-course taster menus.

Loved our overnight here beautiful hotel and staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Loved all the decor in the hotel very modern and clean.

Hotel is immaculately decorated and the food is fantastic. Brilliant base if your into hill walking, fishing, boating etc. Bar closes at 11.00pm.

Very quiet & relaxing for our 2nd visit with complementary upgraded room an added bonus. Rooms very spacious with added amenities like fridge microwave tea coffee etc.
Food is amazing in Edinas kitchen although we would have liked the steak for dinner and found it strange to be sold out on the menu at 7.50 pm on a saturday, however made do with the chicken.
Staff are so friendly & helpful from reception to bar and restaurant we will certainly return again.

We were utterly blown away by everything from arrival to check out at Dunalastair Hotel Suites when we came to stay last weekend. We stayed in a stunning room with all the lovely amenities to hand that make you feel extra special. The staff were exceptional particularly Sam, the lovely chef, the housekeeper and the lovely Polish man who worked in the bar and restaurant. The food and wine throughout the stay were exceptional. As I said, out room was simply gorgeous, the bed was ridiculously comfortable and the surrounding scenery blew us away. Nothing was too much trouble and we honestly had an incredible experience which was worth every penny. We will be back in Feb for our birthdays. Thank you so much for such an amazing standard and enabling us to have a much needed, restorative break as knackered parents!

In May, we had the pleasure of being the first Wedding at the Dunalastair Hotel, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff were brilliant, in particular the hotel manager who was exceptionally accommodating and made us feel at ease. It was hard to get the standard wedding stress with such service! All the guests couldn’t stop commenting on the presentation of the hotel and an added highlight of the comfort of their suites. We always wanted the feel of an exclusive wedding and we definitely felt like the hotel became our own beautiful large house. Unfortunately, the sun didn’t make an appearance on the day but that it didn’t matter in the slightest. It would have been fantastic to have had the ceremony in the courtyard but the staff were so attentive and set up the room inside so beautifully. The family rooms were perfect for the bridal party getting ready in, it was just like having our own flat with room service breakfast. The wedding breakfast was brilliant, not only was the food amazing but the chandeliers added sparkle to our meal, it made the room feel that little bit extra special. The dancefloor was a perfect size even for a ceilidh, I’ve never seen so many people on their feet at a wedding. We would recommend the hotel to anyone! It ticks the service, food and beautiful venue boxes (the views speak for themselves). 5* through and through.

Just like to say that we had another fantastic night away at Scotland's finest hotel. Amazing staff, Excellent food and superb drinks. Especially the Cocktails (Mate is a) also very humbled by the presents and card we received for our Anniversary. Keep up the excellent work and we'll be back very soon.

Such a lovely hotel to stay in, staff extremely friendly. Special mention to Tomas in the dining area extremely helpful and friendly.

Great place, great room… but could do with some warming leisure activities such as sauna and / or steam room after walking etc in the Ab Fab countryside.

Amazing hotel. Beautiful decor. Housekeeping deserve a medal! I would adopt the housekeeper as everywhere is spotless clean. Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff. Food gorgeous. Setting so peaceful. I have been to several well known 5 star hotels in Scotland but this will be my favourite.

The hotel has been tastefully refurbished, service excellent with warm and friendly staff… the food was amazing, everything freshly prepared and served beautifully. We attended with friends whilst staying at our timeshare, expensive but well worth it for the experience, we will be back for sure.

Stunning lost hotel in the middle of the Scottish valleys near the Hermitage. Very attentive service, good breakfast and good menu for dinner. To repeat.

Only stopped for a tea, but it is great for a stop and go coffee place. I read the menu also though, and it's fair priced. I'm definitely going to try it when I'm back up. The refurb has been done to such a high standard. Difficult to keep an old building like this in keeping. But they have done it. Will come back to stay the night, and to try the dinner. So I'll update later. For now with my current visit. 5 stars.

Visited this hotel in early August for first time in several years. Disappointed at how sterile it seemed. Probably well run and efficient but all of its Scottish charm must have left with the tartan decor and furnishings. Drove onto McDonald's — First time visit. Fantastic views and felt this is Scottish.

Second time around and it gets even better. My stay was perfect the time and effort the staff put into making you feel special. Its a plasure to stay there again. They caterred for our requirements and the food was as good to look at as well as to eat. Weldone to the team. Sm.

Loved our wee overnight at this hotel. Love the fact it’s an old traditional building but very modern inside. We arrived early but Gabriel on the front desk helped us out with maps of the area and recommended some places to walk and visit. Lovely bedroom suite great having a little kitchen area and bed was so very comfortable. Sat outside in courtyard for a drink before dinner as it was a beautiful night very nice. Dinner and breakfast were great bit pricey for starters and desserts. The young lad kenny was very helpful and chatty. The addition of a spa would be the icing on the cake for this lovely hotel as not everyone likes to or are able to do walks and as it is a very remote hotel. Would definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

Beautiful hotel in beautiful rural soroundings. The beds is really comfy and the furniture & fixtures are quality. The place is really clean and looks spotless, you can't fault it. Dinner was really nice and the staff were friendly. Highly recommended if you're looking to stay in the area.

Beautiful hotel in a rural village. The hotel looks brand new and our room was gorgeous, we had our living room had a fridge, microwave, kettle etc. We had dinner, bed and breakfast. The dinner was lovely and the waiters were great. Breakfast was continental, any hot food was extra but we stuck with the continental which was also good. Would definitely recommend!

From the moment you go through the front door you receive a warm and friendly welcome, they are probably the happiest staff I've met they go the extra mile to make your visit enjoyable, the hotel itself is fantastic, rooms are huge and to a very high standard with all the mod cons, smart TV with loads of interactive apps, very comfortable beds beautiful bathroom, dining room has a great atmosphere about it and the food is delicious.

What a beautiful hotel. Everything is so fresh and modern. The reception and restaurant staff were fantastic and very helpful. There was one guy in particular in the restaurant but I forgot to get his name. The service was a bit slow for evening meal but the restaurant was very busy. The only downside was that for the continental breakfast there was not an option for Gluten Free other than toast. Some Rice Krispies or a selection of other gluten free cereals would have been great. Not much to do as there are no leisure facilities. Ideal location if you’re a walker.

This was given to us as a gift. Exceptional staff. Beautiful room's. Great food perfect weekend we'll be back.

A beautiful hotel! The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The food was also very good. The hotel was equipped with everything you need. We had a wonderful snowy stay and would love to come back again.

What can I say about this place… except WOW. From the time I phoned the hotel just to inquire about the availability, Gabi who took my call was very accommodating and helpful, she took my reservation and emailed me all the confirmation very fast, and I emailed her back to ask a small favour for our anniversary celebration and she handle my request perfectly. When we arrived at the hotel, she checked in us very fast and took us to our room and the best part we were upgraded to a bigger room, to make sure we will have the best stay. The place was very clean, modern and kudos to all the staff, all of them are so friendly, accommodating. The manager was very friendly too. The food was great, I cant really say any negative about this place. Im just glad we decided to celebrate our Anniversary here. Wish we could have spend more night. Would recommend this place.

It eats well and highly recommended if you want to disconnect from the hustle! Very friendly staff!

Fantastic stay. Everything perfect. We had a very quirky room which has included a little room in the turret. The food, staff, room and location were faultless.

Recently refurbished and really wanted this to succeed. It just does not. Urban boutique hotel transported to the Highlands. Chic, smart — black and white. Super comfortable bed, no hanging space — no bath — weird self catering facilities in the room. Great staff — super friendly — super helpful.

My husband and I went for our Pearl Anniversary. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. Our suite was beautiful and the hotel decor was to a high standard. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend the Dunalastair Hotel.

Popped in for some lunch as dinner in the Saturday evening was sold out. Would not rush back for dinner given the lunch we received was not as described on the menu. This will instantly provide disappointment regardless of the quality of food. We ordered one of the 'hot sandwiches' roast chicken with honey and mustard with hand cooked crisps. After a substantial wait it arrived, we were given the choice of brown or white bread, firstly it was cold and served on bog standard supermarket sliced bread served with what looked and tasted like regular supermarket cheap crisps. It wasn't bad food but for £7.50 it did not represent value for money, the description on the menu and the presentation was poor. We also ordered macaroni which was tasty but again presentation/ was different from the menu. It was supposed to be served on sourdough bread however it arrived in a bowl with a mini petit pan toasted with some truffle oil on a side plate. The renovation is very modern and immaculate however it did not reflect the lunch we received.

Recently beautifully refurbished hotel. Very nice accommodation. Well equiped suites. Fabulous food on offer. Only downside is the lack of phone signal.

Room was fantastic. Really good size. The restaurant is amazing and offers really good quality food. All the staff were great and couldn't be more helpful. The location allows access to lots of great walks and things to see although I would recommend having a car.

Stunning boutique hotel perfectly located in the backdrop of Schiehallion mountain, fabulous refurbishment we spent most of our time in the beautiful courtyard, room 110 was spacious and very well designed with comfortable bed and all of the staff were friendly. I'd definitely recommend to friends.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in July. Lovely hotel very modern inside and the rooms are really nice beds are very comfortable we had a great sleep both nights. If I had to fault anything it would probably be the menu for food it's quite fancy and not much choice won't suit everyone but what I had was really good. Apart from that we would definitely come back.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. My wife and I recently spent two nights in this hotel and from the moment we arrived until we left we were most impressed throughout. All the staff were wonderful and all acknowledged you in passing. Our greatest interaction was with the dining room staff. Their attention to detail was first class and nothing was too much trouble. Every attempt to include fresh local produce on the menu, such as venison, produced truly memorable meals, and all diets were well catered for. The rooms were extremely comfortable and well designed. The hotel, the staff and the locale made this a most restful break and my wife and I would have no hesitation in recommending the Dunalastair Hotel.

Trying to do a fine dining experience but with poor service and average execution on the food. Was about 15-20 minutes after sitting at table before offered drinks. In fact waiter came to take ask about if we ready for food order and we hadn't been offered drinks or given menus. The staff had clearly been drilled on providing bread to the table to help with any wait but at the expense of not thinking about taking a drinks order which is more important. Getting staff attention could be difficult with a sustained period of my arm in the air it took another diner over the other side of the restaurant to get the waitress to finally come over and I swear she had looked straight at me twice and ignored. The food was average with poorly seasoning on my fish and the skin looked crispy but wasn't. The others in my group all described as OK but not great. The portion sizes are tiny and very expensive so I expect excellent execution which was not there. Getting the bill at the end took ages and had mistakes. All in all I'd say a below average experience at an above average cost.
