Solo female having a short break. Friendly, safe, clean comfortable homely environment. Martin made a great job of making me feel welcome and was always helpful. Kitchen and lounge area looking good, upgrading required in bedrooms and other area but this is in hand. Best priced Hostel I have been in, location excellent, will definately be back. Thank you Martin.

You pay for what you get. The price is reflected on the price. If you're staying more than one night it is worth the extra 5-10 pounds for a better place. Wi-Fi was intermittent. Kitchen wasn't terribly dirty but was full of old moldy food. Beds are terrible. You will wake up every time your bunk make turns over. Fine if you are younger and trying to save money or if you have enough people to book an entire room.

The hostel was really quite and clean! Perfect for staying in st andrews close to the city centre.

The staff were really helpful and friendly. But the place needs a really good scrub and some TLC. It's a very central location.

Nice, spacious, spacious and uncrowded!

Location — excellent, near a lot of high street shops and restaurants, close to the bus stop too Rooms — decent, didn't expect much considering the cost, everything was clean and no excessive noise from outside Service — staff were extremely friendly and helpful, for instance we forgot towels and they were more than happy to lend us some.

This place gives that intimate feel of a hostel. It is a great friendly place, with the right people. The facility itself is a bit small & minimalistic. However, it you don't mind, it comes at a low price. That helps.

It's fine for the price. Well located. The reception smells funny. Very bad idea to close the reception from 14 to 17hrs.

Fun and friendly people, close to shops and museums but cleanliness gets only one star.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The place is an embarrassment to St Andrews. Having stayed in many hostels around the world, I have to say this is amoungst the worse. The whole place needs a good clean and a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss. The rooms all had a bad smell and the mattresses were disgusting. It wouldn't cost the earth to get covers for them. Overall the place is nothing short of a health hazard. Stay away at all costs. You have been warned.

Its a really nice hostel right in the centre of St Andrews. You are only 3-5 min away from the next supermarket and about 5-10 from the beach. The hostel is above a mexican restourant so it smells nice all the time ^^ Rooms: 4/5 clean. Few sockets. Enough space. Living Room: 5/5 a lot of books/mangas/movies to watch and read free of charge. Enough chairs and other possibilities to rest and relax. kitchen: 4/5 its k for a hostel kitchen and provides all necessarities. toilets: 5/5 clean showers: 3/5 if you can manage to get in the first shower you better not think twice. 1. Shower is bigger and better (5/5) all the others are very very small without any possibilities to keep your clothes of the ground. Therefore they will/might get wet. Service: 5/5 really nice staff members! They made me enjoy every moment of my stay in St. Andrews and always were up for a chat. Overall I would definitely recommend the hostel. Sure it might not be 5/5 but hey its a hostel not a hotel… I would have given 5/5 if the showers were a bit bigger in general (couse there is nothing better than a shower to finish a great day :D).

Very helpful staff. Very cheap. The showers are too small. The kitchen is dirty. Try to avoid the bedroom in the addict, there is mold on the walls, it the winter/spring, the room is too cold and I suspect that it is too warm in the summer.

Worst hostel ever! We were located in what looked like an attic. There where no space at all, something like 2 square meters for 6 people, even though we had to share this little space with 2 staffs. It was cold, humid and moldy. Saint Andrews is a great city, so bad that this hostel ruined the stay.

L have stayed there as a long termer. During my stay staffs Conrad, Innis and Martin (the young one :) were really polite and tactful. The hostel has a great location, you can reach all the main places by walking. And also hostel is the cheapest accommodation around if you don't have a problem with dorms this place is a really good option to stay in st andrews.

I stayed here just for a night and I had such a positive experience! I was fairly apprehensive at first because I seemed to be the only female among a dozen males, but I was met with nothing but kindness and welcoming attitudes from everyone. I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for intriguing and entertaining conversation. I'd also like to give a shout out to Martin, for being the most accommodating receptionist around.

Cheapest accom in St Andrews but great quality for the price. Rooms spacious, decent kitchen and communal area and friendly/helpful staff.

It's really budget hostel, u should be quick enough to book it early asap. Hostel reception are polite and informative… Guys St Andrews is so decent place and people. No dance floor for sadly… Rest is all I loved the west and east white sand beach… Graveyard and tower. Castle has more information, and must watch is aquarium.

Clean and humble. Not the fanciest but it is a great location for a great low price. The showers have a limited time of operation but there are morning hours and evening hours. The kitchen is large and well stocked and the common room is comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful.
