Inversnaid Bunkhouse Hostel

This place is MAGICAL! If you are on the Highland Way and want to skip that night in a tent on a cold rainy day, give them a call! Rosie was very nice to us! We've booked a tent spot that night but she had room in the bunk beds so we upgraded. WORTH IT! We're exhausted! She offered to pick us up (they do that, give them a call) from the Inversnaid Hotel. Food is the THING here! Craig and Stevie (the magic shelf) were so nice to us! Nothing like a warm bowl of soup after a long day. Highly recommended! A big THANK YOU for the lovely stay!

Lovely quiet peaceful place, stayed in the cabin twice now and cant fault it, even woke up to a couple of visitors. Some lovely walks and amazing scenery.

Stayed here a few years ago whilst undertaking the west highland way. Its just off the path and up a small hill. Superb place. The homecooked food is delicious and the bar had plenty of drinks available. The dinning and seating area was cosy, staff friendly. It was clean and tidy. Would definately stay again.

A bit further away from the main hiking path but you can ask for a lift up the hill. Lovely views, great atmosphere, nice staff. My bedroom was a little too cramped with three people in it and queues were very long in the morning for the bathroom.

A wee bit tired looking. Food of moderate standard. Noisy outside boiler right beside where tents pitch. Disturbed sleep. The actual bistro is a lovely, cosy room.

Kind friendly staff with a warm welcome. Comfortable sleeping arrangements. Good food and plenty beer to choose from. What more can you ask for at a reasonable price.

Not the best hostel I've been to. The rooms were extremely small and narrow, with barely enough space to keep much less open a small carry on suitcase. The linens we're not clean and smelled very bad. I would have preferred they recommended we bring our own. The food upset several members of my group's sumach and the hot tub that was advised was broken. Bathrooms had many bugs, weren't very clean. We all avoided showering there. In addition, my boyfriend left his boots in the drying room and we have been attempting to contact them via email, their contact page and phone offering to reimburse for shipping for them to send to our next hostel and we haven't heard back.

Brilliant atmosphere and lovely owners/ staff. We camped in the garden for a reasonable price and could use all facilities, including dry room and hot tub. The home-cooked food is great and beer fridge is well stocked. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, including picking us up from Inverasnaid, letting us drink beer in the hot tub and re-making our pack lunch after we forgot to order vegetarian only sandwiches. Would highly recommend!

Staff is very friendly. Decent for the price. It's a bit dark and the dorm rooms are very small.

Very friendly, helpful and humorous staff. You will be greeted warmly and immediately feel at ease. The prices for accommodation and meals are provided by the bank in the area, which is usual for the region in their respective categories. The price-performance ratio is right.
It is also nice to that there are rooms and tents, as well as a few tents already in place, so young and old, people with very small and medium sized purses, trekking enthusiasts, hikers but also people who are only for one night and without a tent in the area, the Have the opportunity to rest in an authentic, cosy atmosphere, to enjoy delicious food and/or a few drinks and to finish off the evening.

Great place! A church transformed into restaurant… Warm welcome… The food is good and the nature around is a stunning beauty.

Super nice staff. Bed tent for £ 10 per Person including a shower and a drying room. Hot tub outside with views of the mountain for only 3 pounds extra charge. Food in the Pub is at the top tasty and cold drinks are also available at fair prices. Would stay here again.

Called in for lunch today. Really friendly place and the warm salad was absolutely delicious.

We stayed for one night during our road trip across Scotland. The double room was confortable but was not properly cleaned before our arrival. For the price, we were expecting a bit more since we had a shared bathroom. The double rooms were in a separate building and the pub/restaurant was in an old restored church along with the "bunkhouse". The pub was nice and the staff really friendly.

We only stopped there for a coffee and cake, sadly coffee machine was out but place is interesting, set up inside a church, offering ground for few tents, a small house, and I think some rooms inside. Place lovely and offers good base for trips into mountains around.

These guys were absolute stars and saved our lives when "trying" to cycle the WHW. They had even kept food aside for us after the kitchen had closed knowing we would get there late. Love these guys and would love to return one day!

Friendly welcome and good food in the upstairs restaurant / bar. Staff were great, and could not do more to make our stay memorable and enjoyable. We laughed when we saw earplugs available in the rooms, but it turns out the bar can get a little noisy in the evening (worth noting that it does not stay open late), so the earplugs are for guests looking for an early night. Rooms are basic, but comfortable, showers are warm, and there is a good sized drying room. Would stay here again.

From the West Highland Way, the bunkhouse is a fair walk up a pretty steep hill, however a quick call from your mobile (or ask the friendly reception at the inversnaid hotel), and they will have a minibus collect you within a couple of minutes. The rooms are exactly what you'd expect from a bunkhouse, and the beds are very comfortable. There is a good sized drying room for all your wet gear, and decent and warm showers. Upstairs you will find the bar and restaurant. The quality of the food is excellent, and the selection of beers, wines and spirits is pretty impressive for a small place. The staff are awesome — very friendly, very accommodating. They make you feel at home, and as though nothing you ask will be any trouble. If you are walking the WHW, ask at the bar and they will make you up a lunch for the next day — great value. I would happily go back here, even if it's just for something to eat and an overnight stay.

Great night in this hostel. Fantastic food, welcoming atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful food, staff, plenty of choice on the beers in the bar/cafe. Comfy beds. What more could any hiker need? Book in advance as they do fill up quick in the hiking season.

Great! Friendly personel, really saved our day in that cold january 2009.

If you are doing the west highland way stay here, you will not regret it.
