Lovely double room with upgrade robes and slippers and jacuzzi bath, easy check in lovely helpful staff, dinner was outstanding fresh local produce and really enjoyed it. Big comfy bed slept well and enjoyed a great breakfast, lovely hotel one of my favourites and will def return.

Lovely place to visit and enjoy. Building is up on a beautiful hill.

Do not stay here as a normal guest on Christmas Party nights, total disrespect from the party guests to other guests. Dining and food areas shut to accommodate them and all other guests forgotten about. Party guests up noisy until 4/5am partying in rooms and corridors. Have been here for a long stay and been through 3 party nights already, won’t be back. Definitely not Hiltons standards, more like a Butlins holiday camp! Very bad management.

Staff were very Helpful 😊. Came for an afternoon tea the place was busy but staff opened up an area where we enjoyed our food in a nice quite area of the hotel beside a warm fire. It was fab and give us complimentary drinks ❤️made my birthday very special 💕

We had our wedding here on Saturday, cannot thank the staff enough for all their help with the lead up and on the day — everything ran smoothly and where there was a couple of hiccups Rochene was so accommodating & worked with us. Beautiful setting, food was amazing and all our guests still can’t stop talking about it! 🌟

Generally a rather unipressive stay. The exterior is beautiful and it nice inside. The family room was shocking absolutely tiny with a blurred barred window. Terrible load party music well into the night. I would of expected better in a premier Inn. For over £300 for our package it was not worth it. Inexperienced staff who offered you a try rather then carried your drinks. Only one tiny shampoo in the room and I asked at reception for more and nothing arrived untill the next day when I messaged them! average food poor service in restaurant they forgot our drinks and there were only four tables in!. Worst starter I have ever had. Breakfast was very poor quality. Pool was shabby. This is a 3 star hotel at best charging 5 star prices. Save yourself the hassel and visit the parklands hotel and county club the other side of glasgow!

Just been to the dunblane hydro for my sisters wedding, location was beautiful, staff and service were outstanding and food was amazing. All round ot was the perfect setting for a perfect day.

We booked an overnight stay for our parents to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary, (10th May), they had an fantastic time from the minute they checked in, the receptionist was friendly and chatty, upgraded their room to the penthouse with a card and a few gifts inside. All the staff with extremely helpful and friendly, and food was lovely. They couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you for making their stay so amazing to celebrate a very special event.

Just left the hotel today. My husband and I have been coming here for 50 years since it is where we held our wedding reception. It has a wonderful atmosphere, spotlessly clean, fantastic food, extremely helpful staff and fabulous gardens. We highly recommend this gem of a hotel,.

food at the restaurant was lovely especially the evening meals. the only critiques I would have is the room — it is quite dated could do with being modernised and wasn't very clean (lots of dust, grime and mould near bathroom taps, cupboards visibly dirty with spill marks down them)
I would definitely come back if the rooms were cleaned to a higher standard especially with covid at the moment.

Had a lovely stay. The staff were excellent and made everything about the new regulations feel normal. We had one small minor mishap with our room which was very quickly and apologetically rectified with free drinks provided.
Only thing will say is the swimming pool is slightly on the cold side but we will definitely stay at Dunblane Hydro again.

Just back from an overnight stay at Dunblane Hydro, very disappointed! I have paid premium prices for an overnight stay for a very tired, disappointing room in need of a freshen up. Something I wouldn’t expect from a Doubletree resort. During a time when hotels are struggling you would expect a better standard. It’s of no surprise people are heading for holiday resorts in Spain at this time. Definitely put a dampener on our time at Dunblane Hydro and would be reluctant to return.

I have visited Dunblane Hydro a few times now but this is my daughters first time and they are very impressed with the hotel, our suite and of course the famous cookies.

5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐First visit and we were there for 6 nights. Such a great place to take the dogs — really friendly and the grounds are great for them. Food was top notch and never got bored of the menu. Every member of staff we came across was so polite, courteous and friendly. We will certainly all be back. Thank you everyone.

My self and my husband are just back from an over night stay at Dunblane Hydro.
They were brilliant at catering for a coeliac and gluten free diet. They knew in check in I couldn’t have the cookie and offered fruit. Dinner again, server Kelly knew exactly what I could and could not eat. There is not a separate gf menu but in my opinion this isn’t needed as there is plenty to choose from on the regular menu and the servers are very knowledgeable, my husband even overheard our server speaking to a colleague regarding the difference between gluten intolerant and coeliac! Breakfast was great with a separate continental section with separate toaster. They had run out of bread and I was brought a new loaf — again server knew not to take the bread out due to cc as he had been handling pastries earlier. Cooked breakfast is a buffet however they will cook a breakfast to order to ensure no cc. I opted for scrambled egg and toast so I can’t really remember all the breakfast items that were gf but I’m pretty sure it was all the usual suspects! Over all I would highly recommend this hotel for any coeliac to stay and eat at. I really felt well catered for and honestly did not feel a burden or anything was any trouble ie double checking foods etc and after some recent disasters at other hotels this is a relief! Thank you!

Poorly room set up, guy on front desk is so heavily accented it’s almost impossible to understand him. The aircon is a small fan. Best avoid this hotel in future.

Beautiful hotel and views, friendly staff. The highlight of our stay was definitely the meal at Nick Nairn restaurant. The meal was the best we have ever had. An absolute treat. Will be back for sure.

Nice spot for meeting. Good Wi-Fi and the coffee/snack room is a nice touch.

Big nice rooms with complementary wine and chocolate that gives a good feeling. We took a suite for 2 parents and 2 kids. Children's bed was an opened up sofa with a lousy mattress. Parents accommodation was much better. Take care to reserve a time for dinner in advance on for the day of arrival. Dinner not breathtaking and service time was long. Breakfast is OK. Not many options for healthy eaters (not many fruit & vegetable options) but this is the standard in most of scotland. Gym is small but nice. Pool is OK, with dry and wet sauna but no hot tub. Note that pool and gym are in separate building than hotel rooms (not fun when it's raining). Plenty of parking. Wifi gave us trouble but I'm hoping we're an exception. Checkin line was long and we had to wait even though we checked in online.

I couldn't fault a single aspect of my stay here. Food was amazing, as were the staff, rooms and the leisure facilities. I will definitely be back again.

Over priced and the corridor doors bang… so not like a Premier Inn stay. Would not come back here, despite the friendly staff and beautiful building there are plenty of more 'traditional places' to stay when visiting Scotland at half the price.

Held an event here in Spring ‘17. After some intial snags in the booking process and change of key contacts, we got the ball rolling. Staff were very helpful and polite on the night, and made our guests feel extremely welcome. Terrific scenery and grounds, great for pictures when the weather is nice.

The staff make this place, extremely helpful and always smiling. Beds are extremely comfortable.
As others have said, some parts need refurbished. Buffet meals were typically lukewarm. Disappointed with room cleanliness, some shelfs hadn't seen a duster in a while and used food trays cluttered the corridors. There was also discrepancies between the bar price list and the amounts the staff were charging.
Good visit otherwise, but I expect better from a 4 star hotel.

Spent 6 wonderful days here. Very central situation as a base for exploring Edinburgh. L Lomond, Inveraray, Roslyn, and lots more. Staff so friendly and obliging. Package we had for food was excellent in choice and value. Will certainly return.

Main building rooms are brilliant. Very grand country setting, perfect for couples, breaks away or fancy work accom. I don’t rate the rooms in the extension out back, always ask for a main building room. Food at the Kailyard is very good though food from the bar is a great option when the restaurant is booked up. Gym is small, likewise the pool but nice to have.

Can't recommend this place enough. Fantastic service and lovely class decor. Food great and room/pool/gardens lovely.

Having just arrived at the Dunblane Hydro I was pretty excited by the views and the chance to experience the delights of the hotel while on business. Unfortunately I have been put into a tiny room with an awful view and the toilet hasn’t stopped dripping for the last 15 minutes. For the price of this room and the positioning the hotel gives to itself, I would absolutely expect better.

Absolutely wonderful from start to finish! All the staff were so attentive and friendly! Good selection in the Kailyard and the food was superb! Breakfasts were to die for! Good selection of drinks and cocktails at the cocktail bar. Finally our room was absolutely lovely and very comfortable.

Just back from a lovely 2 night stay with my husband and 2 sons. The hotel is stunning, set in nice grounds with an impressive entrance. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable, all you need. Nice touches with dressing gowns, toiletries etc. We enjoyed the Spa, nice sized pool and really good Sauna and steam room. We ate dinner both nights in the Nick Nairn restaurant and had no complaints at all, food and service were both very good. The cocktail bar is lovely, good selection of cocktails and gins and Mel looked after us well. Last but not least, the breakfast, one of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve had. Huge selection and all fresh cooked and clean areas around the buffet. Overall lovely break and we will definitely be back.

We have been coming to this lovely hotel every Easter & October for the last few years and always have a fantastic break.
Sadly, we had to cut this years trip short after only 1 night due to our 5 year old breaking her collar bone when out a walk this morning.
The staff were amazing and very understanding. Not only did they only charge us 1 night when we checked out at 6pm on day 2, they gave us cookies for the journey home, to cheer us all up. Too many hotels these days would easily have charged us for the remaining nights.
Thanks so much for the exceptional way you dealt with this very unfortunate situation.
We cant wait to come back in a few weeks, when the little one is better.

Stunning place. Every little detail has been thought of. I can't comment on the food as I haven't eaten there yet but it smelt amazing. The staff are amazing very helpful and always with a smile. Just a real shame they feel they need to add £100 per child onto a room. £189 for a normal room and a family room is over £300?! Makes it unaffordable for us to actually enjoy a stay over.

We arrived for an anniversary night away around 4pm. Check in was quite busy but when we got to the desk we had been upgraded to a deluxe family room! It was a lovely gesture and the added touch of a balloon was very thoughtful. We ate in the cocktail lounge. Disappointed that they had run out of fish but we had the steak ciabatta which was fantastic. Chocolate orange cheesecake to follow was to die for. Staff were very attentive throughout the evening and cocktails were amazing! Breakfast in the morning was superb! Maybe extra coffee machines would help as there was quite a queue for hot beverages. Checkout was easy and again reception staff were attentive. My only complaint there was no sky sports to watch the football. Defintely would head back again, been many times and always happy with our stay!

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. We were checked in by Vivian who was lovely. When we arrived at our room I noticed that it was a shower cubicle and not a bath in the bathroom so I went back to reception to enquire about a room change and Vivian swiftly organised us another room with a bath without any hesitation. The room very clean and bed was extremely comfy. Lounge very pleasant and relaxing to sit in. Food excellent both at dinner and breakfast. Well done to all the staff as they work hard and are always smiling. Deffo will return in the future.

Had a lovely weekend here on the 3rd till the 5th march. Staff are very nice and friendly. Rooms are beautiful very comfortable. Can't fault it.

What a fabulous place for dinner, bed and breakfast as a gift from my daughter. Room was front facing with a view towards lovely Dunblane. Dinner — decisions, decisions so hard but my choices were excellent. Staff were attentive without being intrusive. Breakfast fulfilled all my expectations and more. Can't wait to go back.

Fantastic cocktail bar where staff are always welcoming and professional. Good atmosphere too. The hotel setting is excellent with a magnificent driveway leading up to an historic looking building. Rooms to the front are best as looking down into the grounds and the town beyond. Nick Nairn's name can be seen throughout the menu where he has selected / devised a number of meals.

Thoroughly enjoyed our first visit. Staff were very friendly and eager to please. Food was excellent although had better chips with my very tasty steak. Quite a wait though between courses. Butterscotch Pot was sublime. Breakfast was very good but missed my personal option of grilled kippers.

Overnight guests with dinner and breakfast. At dinner the service was friendly but full of errors and the food was mostly average. In the morning someone knocked on the door just before 10am simply to tell us they will come back later. Back later for what, I've no idea! Room was nice but shower took some fiddling to turn on. Breakfast was very good with an excellent selection of food.

Food terrible! I wanted to like this place. I love Scotland. Beforehand, I rang them, I emailed them, I spoke to them at the desk and let the conference I was attending know I was vegan. The staff did not know what food available was vegan. They had not been briefed and there were lots of us. A sign pointing to vegan sandwiches had meat in and was actually gluten free. I was told after one day that vegan milk had run out with two more days to go. Other delegates said they had brought their own food and were eating in their rooms. Pretty shocking for this level of hotel and especially since nearby Edinburgh is known as the vegan capital of the UK. I asked for a refund and they did not get back to me.

We booked our room by telephone because we wanted to know if they could cater for one of our large dogs. A price was quoted for the stay and the booking was made. Upon our arrival we were informed by reception there would be an additional charge of 20 pounds to cover extra cleaning costs because of our dog. We said there was no mention of this at the time of booking. The Hotel wouldn't budge and basically we had no choice but to pay. Upon going to the room we were completely shocked. The room was about two thirds of the size of a Premier Inn room but cost 3 times the price. Never again!

Hotel was Lovely from the front. Inside original building very nice giving the illusion that you are in a high class Hotel. We were there to stay with close Friends, Had good time in area with them and great company. The reception area and bar were very nice Annex at rear where we were staying was a disappointing walk as corridors were dated and could do with brightening up. Room was very nice and comfortable. Meal in Hotel was good staff very attentive. Overall I think I was expecting too much from the Illusion that it would be a grand old Hotel. It wasn't It reminded me of a Travel lodge Sorry but it did. I won't go out of my way to stay there again.

Had a great time. Room was nice and big and the bed was really comfy. The restaurant was lovely had a great dinner then a breakfast the next day. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.

Most times in life you get what you pay for and this place fits the bill. Worth the extra for the location/views and the quality of the service. Food was delicious.

Small basic, very hot room, thankfully they supplied a fan. Great location. Breakfast was very nice. Evening meal was a big disappointment, had high expectations, the soup starter was ok but the roll was brick hard and no butter with it. My preferred main course was not available and my second choice tasted mainly of salt. Free drink from bar given as compensation. Cookie given on arrival was lovely. Luckily my stay was on a Sunday offer so not too pricey. Would actually of given it 2.5 stars.

Stunning location and service from the staff. Great food. Rooms are great but could do with a slight up date. All in all great stay.

On arrival reception desk not great as was offered upgrade through Hilton honours booking but informed nothing available. Room allocated adequate and clean but quite compact. Dinner was included for 2 courses. Food was lovely. Apart from nibbles arriving at same time as starter. No drinks order taken (we had to ask) and no steak knife given (had to ask again). The noise out front of the hotel after 1130pm at night was horrendous and although understand there was a wedding reception taking place felt the hotel should have been more responsive to the unacceptable shouting, reving of car engines and car music being played at very loud volumes as there were many other guests resident in the hotel. For the money paid for the experience I would have expected a much greater attention to detail. Was very disappointed on this occasion.

Brilliant hotel. Food amazing. The staff are the icing on the cake at this hotel as nothing is too much trouble for them. My only grumble is there was no air conditioning on and it is a very hot hotel. This would not put us off from visiting again as everything else is truly 5 star. Thank you for an amazing holiday.

If you get the dinner package it is worth it. The food is great and the breakfast is very good as well. The bacon looks like ham but it's good. The rooms are old and so is the hotel. If it got renovated, cleaned up it would be worth the price without the dinner. The town it's nice as well. There is a river behind the church we found by walking, very nice.

Staff and service excellent! Restaurant and food really nice. Only reason for 4 stars is due to a couple of things in the room. No fridge and no air conditioning, however window can be opened and a fan is provided. Bed and pillows exceptionally comfortable. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Will return.

Very charming hotel with a traditional feel about it. Up market with a very good restaurant. I've been staying here for business reasons so have not been able to enjoy the hotel as a holiday guest might but it comes across as a popular high quality destination.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Very noisy every night until almost 2am. It's 50 degrees and NO heat. They moved my room because of the noise, offered snacks and water to apologize but never gave it to me. The room service food was not good except the tomato soup. I definitely do not recommend this hotel, stay at the Marriott in Edinburgh.

Attending for a work conference. Hotel is in beautiful surroundings. Buffet lunch was very nice with a variety of tasty little nibbles. Conference rooms were well laid out and maintained at a pleasant temperature.

The location of the hotel is beautiful and easy to get to from Glasgow. The family room is spacious and comfortable. We ate dinner twice at the Kailyard restaurant. Night one, the silver menu was divine. I felt like a masterchef critic marvelling at the flavour combinations. Night two was mediocre. Don't know if this is reflected in purple menu or the chefs. Breakfast was a disappointment. I missed a little bit of attention and luxury such as being brought my coffee to the table. The leisure facilities are great and staff generally helpful and accommodating.

Brilliant hotel. Food was amazing — both the dinner and breakfast. Especially loved the duck for my main meal, and the salted caramel tart. Also, rooms are a very good size and the bed was super comfy. Couldn't fault the hotel.

The room is in the hotel is rather small but comfortable. I suggest you use Hilton's online checkin to get the best room you can away from the hall traffic and the end of the corridors. The venue is very good and I used the Spa and swimming facilities. What was a bit disappointing is that on a weekend these facilities close as 8pm but only close at 10 pm in the week. Might be good if they can extend the weekend hours. Had a dinner, bed and breakfast booking with the hotel. The food in the evening was absolutely fantastic. The menu was created by Nick Nairn and the dinner didn't disappoint. The breakfast wasn't the best. The choices were rather limited and having stayed the previous day in the MacDonald Houston house with a fantastic range of breakfast, this felt like a let down from the previous night's dinner. Service in the morning is hectic and at one point I was waiting 5 minutes after asking for a coffee cup.

The room was very comfortable and had plenty space. The hotel was very well presented. Staff were pleasant and service was prompt. The only thing wrong is that the restaurant chairs a fairly uncomfortable.

Location is lovely not far from a local golf course and only a 5 minute walk from local bars in the heart of dunblane. Not much to do within the area other than that which is why 4 stars inatead of 5. The hotel itself was of a high standard and all the staff made us feel welcomed (even though they seemed a bit rushed) dinner at the resturaunt was really nice, very pricey but that was expected. Overall lovely stay would recommend but if I had the choice I would stay somewhere with a bit more entertainment u have to make your own entertainment unfortunately.

Went for afternoon tea. Service was terrible, tables were filthy, rubbish all over the floor. Waited 25 mins after having been seated without being offered a drink or menu and decided to leave. Really poor all round.

Stayed here Feb 2015 and Feb 2016. The hotel seems to have had a rough year. Tired rooms and dirty corridors. We had to change room as the sheets were dirty. The second room was in worse condition. The concierge didn't seem pleased that we didn't want to sleep in sheets covered in coffee. Eventually about 2 hours after checking in a helpful member of the housekeeping team arrived and sorted it out. The food in the Kaleyard restaurant is good but the drink is pricey for what it is. Standard fry up buffet in the morning with a small selection of fruit, meats and cheese. The health suite is OK, in need of a bit of cleaning and maintenance.

Nice hotel visually, however poor service throughout our stay sometimes waiting 10 mins to get drink at bar as so short staffed, no information provided about the hotel and services from staff or in room. My parents were there to celebrate new year and apart from the main function at 75 a head there was no atmosphere in bar, small TV with new year countdown on with volume down and no music. Dinner was nice and breakfast was fantastic but the price you pay for the size of portions is ridiculous, Wi-Fi was also 20 for 3 days surely in this day and age this should be included in your stay as many of the budget hotels do. Don't mind the cost of our stay too much as long as the service matched the price. Such a shame because hotel has so much potential. Good area and nice to get away but would maybe choose somewhere else in future.

Attended a wedding here, and the food, service, building and grounds were all great. I would have appreciated the soft drinks being a tad cheaper, to help out the drivers amongst us, but that's probably a concern for most people at a wedding.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff were largely fantastic. The only issue we had was in the cocktail bar, where the staff were less than attentive, only person at the bar for 10 mins (3 staff too busy behind the bar) before even an acknowledgement! However, as soon as we stepped into the restaurant, the service improved dramatically and the rest of our stay was fantastic. Leisure facilities also great. Would recommend and stay again.

On the whole a very pleasant stay. Just a few little details that went quite right.

Have to say when booking the hotel for our 3rd year Anniversary it looked amazing from the pictures and the reviews, and when arriving at the hotel it looked outstanding. But after checking in and walking to the room it was kind of a let down, from plates shuved under the stair way and seeing workmen's stuff hanging over the radiators in the hall way 2 doors down from our room. To entering the room there was marks all over the floor carpet and marks on the wall and a smell of body oder, hair in the bath and marks in the glasses next to the sink and marks on the toilet seat, and the room was very warm even after turning the heat off and opening the window. Breakfast was a let down also. After eating there for dinner which was amazing. And when trying to explane to staff to leave the room till we checked out was the hardest thing and as we had our dog with us. So sorry to say we wouldnt stay there again.

Went for my 30th birthday for the weekend and loved it especailly the food the only thing that went wrong was you have to book in 2 days in advance for treatments.

The room was very clean, but a little bit more warm than it should. Staff was helpful and friendly. The Kailyard restaurant had amazing food. Breakfast was rich and delicious. Swimming in the pool was great experience. I'm definitely going to stay there again.

Absolutely impeccable in all aspects. The hotel is located in the picturesque Dunblane, close to many attractions (Stirling, the Lochs) as well as Glasgow and Edinburgh. Went there with my boyfriend, had a lovely weekend to which the hotel accomodation had a significant contribution.

All staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good, dare I say the best scrabbled egg I have had in a very long time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as it is suitable for all ages.
