We are staying for a few night but I felt I had to take the time to share how amazing the fish and chips are here! obviously there will be more details to come but the chips were proper chip shop quality chips packed full of flavour but the fish deserves a special mention. The crunch of the batter was deafening, the chunks were succulent and juicy and jam packed full of flavour. fantastic thank you.

Clean rooms, good beds and amazing food. Would deffo recommend.

Just had our first take away and it was delicious. The burger was absolutely perfect — juicy but not greasy. Chips were gorgeous too.

Walked in yesterday after getting the bus from Hexham bus number 680 was really impressed with how professional Tilly the waitress was she served me my mail took my order and brought my drinks in a very professional manner I also noticed that she answered the telephone and dealt with other customers just how very professional and businesslike she was The food is pub food perfect for me a pie that was full to the brim with meat and very meaty home-made gravy and green tender vegetables mash potato that was creamy and battery just the way I like it I honestly could not fault the food the location the staff or the service — здесь: The Black Bull Hotel & Restaurant.

Just had one of the finest Sunday Lunches I’ve ever had and very reasonable also. Tempura Prawns with curry mayonnaise for starter and a Lamb and Beef dinner with a beautiful Yorkshire pudding and all veg cooked to perfection.

We booked the Black Bull Hotel & Restaurant after our 10 month old baby's baptism. The staff from booking the venue to the actual day were all very helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for them. They decorated the function rooms nicely and the buffet received lots of compliments from guests. It was lovely to have such a large outside space too which was very child friendly, especially as we were so lucky with the weather. Had a lovely day, thank you Black Bull in Wark :)

Stayed there for one night. Had dinner reserved for 14 people 1 week in advance. It took them more than 80 minutes to bring the food after the order was put thorough. The most awful part for me was the attitude of the staff. At the end of the night, having paid the bill with some moderate tip, I forwarded a bit of friendly feed back but what I got was a lecture by the manager about hospitality trade working practice! Not even once an apology. In summary an average accomodation, below average food quality and very poor service and attitude specifically by the manager. I think you are very likely to find better places to stay and cheaper than £180.00 than we paid for 1 night of stay in a family room.

Lovely coffee and cake. V pleasant staff. Great price for coffee and cake. We went for Sunday lunch, a set price menu, but were dismayed to find once inside it was £2.50 extra for beef or lamb.

Lovely room, very clean. Great to have conservatory and large garden to relax in (at the back of the pub). Breakfast and evening meals were really nice but would have liked a few more options on evening menu. Staff were really friendly.

Excellent food. Only thing better is the staff!

Excellent pub with great, inexpensivefood. A safe, spacious garden at the rear with a little park for children. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Lovely walks by the river to burn off the excess calories provided by the delicious sweets.

Good hotel in the middle of fine country. Well worth a visit.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was excellent. Very nice meat and vegetables with plenty of gravy. I had a hand pulled beer and my partner had coke and it came to £25. Starters and desert were offered but we were too full from just the main course for them.

Nicely refurbished village Inn serving good quality food and drinks in welcoming surroundings. Sunday lunches are excellent.

Lovely room, comfortable and welcoming. Friendly staff. Steak night on Thursday excellent value and delicious main course. Occasional hiccups with restaurant service on the Friday (when it was very busy) but overall a pleasant stay.

Very friendly staff with lovely decor and spotless surrounding's. Electric bin in the toilets is very cool kid. Called in on the way down from Edinburgh for food which was amazing. It's worth the trip for the chips alone! Highly recommended.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at this welcoming and friendly hotel in the heart of Northumberland. Ideally located within easy driving distance of Kielder Water, Hexham and Hadrian's Wall, the hotel was delightfully cosy, and the staff could not have been more helpful. Our room was clean and had all the facilities one expects (including a walk-in en suite) and the food was excellent. We'll be back!

I've tried the chicken liver parfait, the stuffed chillies and the curry. The chicken liver parfait and the curry were quite nice, I'd say 4 stars out of 5. The stuffed chillies were very good. A small pub with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. And the nearby bridge across the North Tyne offers a nice walk after dinner.

Really good always enjoy visiting.

What a fabulous small hotel room was lovely and the food in the dining room was superb but it was the little extras that count because we were to early for breakfast checking out at 7am to see our Grandaughter run the great north run the staff straight away said they would leave us a packed lunch at reception as we left what a lovely gesture and the packed lunch was fab thank you Black Bull will recommend this hotel to all our friends xx.

Fantastic meal tonight I can strongly recommend the prawns for starters… perfect. Very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely worth a visit.
