Very helpful people. Great rooms, great food.

Lovely old fashioned hotel in a beautiful part of Northumberland.

Just off the centre of Rothbury set back off the road with parking available. Bar, beer garden and function rooms available. All well appointed. Service is good and staff are friendly and attentive without being over the top.

We have lived locally for just over two years and should very much like to be able to recommend the Coquet Vale hotel for lunch, but are still unable to do so. We have visited several times, including today, and find the food of poor quality. Several requests were either not delivered, or not available. As mentioned earlier, our choice today was largely for convenience rather than expectations.

Lovely hosts, newly refurbished room, good food and service. Would recommend.

Very friendly staff, excellent pizza, dog friendly, lovely cosy log burning stove, huge comfy bed and huge luxurious bath. Will definitely be visiting again.

We had our sons Christening Celebration at The Coquetvale Hotel. Alison and her team couldn’t have been more helpful, organised or professional. From helping choose a menu to suit our budget, fitting us in on a busy Sunday lunchtime, helping me set up decorations and carry presents to the car. The food was delicious, the bar service was efficient so no one had to wait long, the function room is tastefully decorated and the staff were very pleasant and polite. We look forward to returning for more meals.

Lovely view of the area. We stayed in room 2 which has recently been updated and the bed is huge! Staff friendly. Only negative was being asked to pay immediately upon arrival (already had my card details). It was an anniversary trip and didn't really want my wife to be aware of cost so felt a little discretion here would have been better. Other than that though we had a very nice time and would definitely return. We got married here 2 years ago and would also recommend for weddings too.

Truly charming hotel, friendly & helpful staff, wonderful breakfast with amazing scenery, stunning skies, myriads of walks and photo opportunities. Do visit Craigside. Lovely Rothbury village with excellent little shops with original things at must have prices so take an empty bag.

Lovely hotel, stunning scenery, excellent service and great food. Was shown to the room which is rate these days, lovely touch. Helpful staff even suggested we might like to finish out breakfast juices outside as the day was so nice. Would recommend highly, especially once the already spacious and tasteful rooms have had the light revamp they talked about. Was a pleasure staying with you.

Pleasant stay here. Close to the centre of town. Central for travellers. Golf course l/4 of a mile from hotel. Good breakfast.

Second time of staying at Couquetvale Hotel and once again found it to be a very comfortable and accommodating hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff, nothing too much trouble. Also, extremely well situated for all sightseeing tastes. John and Lilian Wiffin.

Stayed hotel 21/6/15 Found room clean tidy and cosy, very helpful staff and friendly, stopped and chatted to you, looked like hotel gone and on going refurb quite high standards Italian restaurant within hotel not fan food so didn't try any but the breakfast was lush most from local produce Chatted to hotel manager, nice guy, asked our opinion, told him about signage to hotel, said on going with council keep refusing, told him put one farmers field just laughed good idea lol all in all good stay.

We stayed for one night last Sunday and although the hotel itself may not be 5*, the staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room was really warm, infact we had to turn the heating down. It was nice and big, plenty of room for our dog that was made welcome. We had a meal from the restuarant that was kindly brought to our room as we didn't want to leave the dog, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Very good vaue for money.
