Fantastic place to stay. The Lodge has wonderful views from all rooms. Sleeps 16 if you are a large group. Food is local, especially the salmon & the chief cooks great meals. All the staff are very friendly & helpful. I hope to visit again.
Fabulous location enhanced by warmth of welcome. The Lodge is situated on a glorious beach, near to the lochs and hills which make this place so memorable. Oh and sheep, lots of sheep who seem oblivious to humans, I guess it’s their home and we are transient. Park at the front, enter by the huge door, take off your boots and the smell of peat fire welcomes you. Meals are served in the dining room where guests seat next to one another at one long table, I recommend the omelettes. Eric the chef makes superb monster omelettes, his deputy Chris, who is the ghillie, can also do omelettes, now. Whether he had to goggle how to make them may be only a vicious rumour! The Lodge also offer their own salmon, delicious and black pudding. We didn’t eat at dinner at the Lodge, but other guests who did seemed very satisfied. A large and very comfortable lounge is next door, with the peat wood fire, which seemed to be lit by the indomitable Christy. She flutters around endlessly serving and working, she never seems to sleep. She said she did, but I think she may be lying. If the weather is bad or you’re having a relaxing day, sit, read, watch, look, listen and enjoy. Our room was large, comfortable and warm. Plenty of space to potter around each other without falling over. The tap water is soft and pure, fantastic to taste. The bathroom was literally opposite the bedroom door was perfectly acceptable with a view up of the stars or sun.
