If anybody is trying to find good deals on hotels visit HoteIRᴀven. Com booked a hotel on there and they had the best rates anywhere! Really friendly hotel. Well decorated rooms and feels welcoming. A bit busy with coach parties maybe. Very handy for Haymarket station and trams to Airport.

The food is not very appetizing or good. The elevators take forever. The will find doesn't work always and is not secure. The staff does try to be helpful. The room key card is often deactivated on its own.

Very respectful of the customer comfort, cleanliness, space prices very correct I recommend.

Nice and comfortable room, the mattress a little hard to my liking. The hotel is quite quiet with an easily accessible parking and not too expensive. The breakfast was well stocked, the bread, the pastries and the fruit salad were very good! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Service was terrible. They seem more focussed on large coach parties than individuals or small groups. Nobody ever answers the phone on reception, and a simple request like having breakfast in my room turned into 3 phone calls with reception, followed by and a trip down to see them just to order it, and then they forgot to bring it the next day…

Stayed here for a couple of days and wasn't too happy at having 2 single beds put together to make a double. Room was clean enough, shower was superb. Remote for telly was rubbish, couldn't change channel or turn volume down, changed batteries and unit but stil no good. Staff were lovely, Spanish girls on reception. Breakfast was good although paid £15 for the privilege. All in all … adequate.

The chain Leonardo does not disappoint! Flawless!

A quite high end hotel with affordable price. Well situated and easy to get to and from. All the main landmarks can easyly be walked. Attentive staff and very clean. Smells really nice too. Highly recommended.

To the side of the tram stop that takes you to the airport. You can go to walked to all points of interest. Room comfortable and clean. Breakfast buffet very good.

Clean, very friendly at reception. Water, tea and coffee free in the room. A bit far from the centre but a walk of about 25 minutes you get.

Business trip — Super service and courteous staff.
At check-in we were a little early, thanks to the possibility to leave the suitcases but it was not a problem. So we could look at the city before.
The rooms are large and modern furnished, housekeeping does a good job!
In the evening, the restaurant had delicious food and fine wines at typical hotel prices. The advice of the service was excellent here — that's how it must be!
The location is very good in itself, right near the train station, at the airport you are also quite fast. There are several restaurants, cafes and supermarkets in the immediate vicinity. The city is within walking distance in about 10 minutes, Edinburgh Castle can be reached in about 15 minutes.
Negative: Unfortunately I had to get 2x to the reception in 7 days because the card stopped working and therefore I could not go into the elevator, nor the room.
I can recommend the hotel to despite without any restrictions!

Good hotel, clean the room every day, replace the soap, replace the glasses and water. The minimum problem is solved.

Hotel about 10 minutes from the center on foot, good central location but quiet. Two minutes walk from Haymarket. Area with plenty of restaurants and bars. We had a room that looked out to the parking lot behind and there was no noise any traffic. I recommend it, I'll be back.

After a blunder with another hotel that could have ruined our trip to Edinburgh, the staff at the Leonardo Royal were incredibly kind, generous and helpful, offering a better quality stay with amazing value for money. Saved me about £50 compared to a commercial hotel chain! No complaints about the room whatsoever, and as a young person travelling with my boyfriend, I felt very confident and secure here. Would recommend to everyone coming to Edinburgh!

Fantastic hotel Spotlessly clean, lovely rooms with everything you require. Polite and welcoming staff. Central location. Only negative… not enough tea/coffee etc available in room. Fresh bottled water was appreciated. Think. Parking charges should be waivered for guests.

Very nice comfortable and functional hotel very close to Rugby Stadium 15 mn a foot.

Really fantastic, outstanding cleanliness, appreciate it when you can see people all around keeping on top of things — mopping and hoovering the lobby, plenty of staff on at breakfast time in the restaurant and most staff extremely attentive. Some reception/bar staff could do to try and make people feel a little more welcome but on the whole — great. Shame about the bar/lounge food and drink choice/availability and service. Overall though, really great!

Room had nice view, very quiet and clean. All staff where nice to us and helpful. The hotel was very close to the center of Edinburgh (around 5 minutes away by tram), so we surely recommend. Also the area were the hotel is situated is very quiet and full of bars, restaurants and coffee shops. The hotel's design is beautiful, unique and very modern. I was really satisfied with our stay as the hotel in reality looks exactly the same as in the pictures of the website. I will surely look for Leonardo Hotels if I get to go abroad again. Value for money was also good. Highly recommended!

Arrived yesterday. From the outside the hotel makes a very good and noble impression. The receptionist greeted us very nicely and friendly and explained everything to us exactly. The interior looks very noble. The rooms are completely renovated, well kept and clean.
In the evening we ate in the in-house restaurant. Pricey and tasteless there was nothing to complain about. As a group of four people we paid around €80 which was very good.
This morning we went to the breakfast buffet. It lacked at all the choice of food and drinks.

Beautifully laid out hotel, lovely modern decor, well maintained and furnished bedroom. Polite and helpful staff. We were very impressed with our stay in an area which had little traffic noise at night, even though you were within easy walking distance to Princes Street. Good location for the nearby Haymarket railway station. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to Edinburgh and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Minutes from Haymarket station so simple journey from airport to tram to hotel. Friendly, helpful staff on arrival. Secure place to leave luggage if you arrive early. Not far to Princess Street. Modern, very clean, comfortable room. Tea/cofee, safe, iron etc. Easy check out. Definitely book here again.

Good hotel, helpful staff, good food. Very busy with bus tours and people using airport. Also pilots and air stewards stay here so very popular. Good decor. Just jump on bus or tram to town centre, it's not far.

A lovely hotel, with fantastic service from wonderful staff. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. The only, but ever so slight downside, is the 20 minute walk to the centre of town. That said, I'll definitely be back.

Unfortunately the service is bad. After a full day spent out in the city we returned at 5:00 in the afternoon and the hotel had not riassettato the room we had to wait another half hour affnché we would put the room in place and put the new towels clean. If you are going to dine don't stop there for dinner because the service is limited to a waiter in the room while instead the food is really bad. Great breakfast instead.

Breakfast a bit expensive for us as we do not take breakfast as Anglo-Saxon guests.
A few croissants with coffee and a juice are enough for us!

Myself and my partner had an excellent stay, the staff were super helpful and friendly, the room was fantastic with all our requirements the bar had plenty of choice at reasonable prices. Breakfast was exquisite with loads of choice and everything very tasty and the freshly squeezed orange juice just perfect. Late check out on request was just perfect for a longer lay in from the night before overall a great weekend made better by staying at the leonardo royal and we will definitely return… thank you from us both.

The hotel is much improved from when it was a standard commercial hotel. The restaurant and bar are very modern and well kept, as too are the rooms. The staff are friendly enough, especially the ones that were on shift overnight. However when ordering a double room, I'd recommend you ensure that's what you get. I had to change my room from two single beds pushed together. Little disappointing when you are paying the £££ rates. Overall a good stay.

Very tasty food in the Restaurant. The staff are very accommodating and unlikely to be nice. The hotel is very convenient to the Haymarket and you can easily reach the sights on Foot.

Everything was fine apart from an elevator failure. It would be desirable in this case to have a solution for people with disabilities. Also the cleanliness of the elevators is not at the top (liquid on the floor sticky to the feet and this for three days).
Also report alarms in the morning in the rooms next to ours.
On all the other services, impeccable and at the top.

Location is central well within city limits and walking distance of some excellent restaurants and night life. Rooms are of a good quality, although minor things like the non-slip built in bathmat is fading away despite a recent renovation. Staff have been nothing but brilliant, although we haven't eaten in the hotel or had cause to complain. Cleaning staff do a great job though and things seem at least very in order. You will however often find random bits of waste "hidden" by other guests in the halls. More walkthroughs might help.

Good hotel in a good location with nice rooms including fridge.
however, The hotel is overtaxed with its size… Breakfast at peak hours a hectic mess because too much people at too little Space. It can happen that you have to wait 15 minutes until you get a table. We were 4 nights there we have once come to enjoy the roomservices… (room cleaning, Bed making, bath wiping… Refilling tea bags…) Were from 10 am to 16:30 out of the house… As I said… Once you have managed to clean up the room…

The good thing is that the room is large and the hotel is relatively close to the new city. The rest with a wide margin for improvement. The receptionist was discourteous and arrogant. The white linen of the room (sheets and towels) is more than amortized. The elevators do not have sufficient capacity to meet the demand in the morning. In the hall there is a stench horrible food because the bar/restaurant is right there. No one informed us about the advantages of belonging to the club. Racanean the tea and the sugar of the room. In the same line, there's not even a sad biscuit to accompany.

Modern clean hotel in the westend of edinburgh, the city centre can be reached in about 20 min. Well on Foot. Very friendly staff at the reception who can give you valuable tips on Locations. Unfortunately, Poor service at breakfast, the normal buffet in a light-hearing room. For a hotel of this price range was lacking a fitness — and spa Area.

The Central Hotel… well served by public transport x the Airport… train station to 5 Mimuti.

It is in a great location to get to all the main tourist places also on foot.
Clean rooms and very nice staff.

Amazing location but customer service is seriously lacking. I got a twin bed instead of a double, and when I called to ask they just said it's the way all the rooms are. Another friend is also staying in the same hotel and she told me she has a double bed, so they were just trying to get rid of me. What's more there is no phone in the room so you have to go all the way downstairs or hold on your mobile for ten mins to speak to reception. For the money they should treat you better.

The thing that disappointed me the most was dinner. That we have not done!
On Booking, was specified the price of E. 12. Instead once we got to the table, the waiter told us that the menu was at the card, and there was no one thing that cost 12 euros!
We did complain to the front desk manager, who was mortified by offering us 2 coupons for the breakfast.

I was delighted to get this room at a reasonable rate at fairly short notice when my friend and I decided 10 days beforehand to go to Edinburgh to see some shows at the Festival Fringe. We were very impressed by the cleanliness and comfort of the room. I would certainly recommend to any of my friends or family going through to Edinburgh for a short visit — theatre or shopping trip — to put this hotel at the top of their list. Very accessible for all city amenities.

Good points : (1) In our case, check-in and check-out were quick and the hotel staff was always friendly (2) good breakfast. (3) room was comfortable, clean and quiet. (4) safety box in the room, included in the price, works fine. (5) Hotel Parking Area is convenient. (6) Good internet conexión (7) About 20-25 minutes walking to the city center and there are a tram and a number of bus stops nearby To improve : (1) pressure of water too low in the shower (2) Machine to do natural orange juice in breakfast does not work well. A more advanced machine model would be nice taking into account the size of the hotel.

The hotel is in a fantastic location a short walk from the heart of Edinburgh old city and very easy to get to from the airport (tram and less than a 5 min stroll). I can't fault the hotel or the staff to be fair but the price was a little too high for what was on offer. I would assume this was down tot he fringe festival. The room was comfortable and the mattress was very supportive. I have minor back issues and had no problems sleeping or getting up. I really enjoyed the breakfast offering, there was a good spread of hot and cold options but I was disappointed that there was no haggis on the Monday morning when there was on the Sunday.

Check in and out was very quick and efficient. We were 3 adults staying in the same room for 2 nights 3 days. Two twin beds and sofa bed. All were very comfortable for our 2 night stay. Room was well presented. Bathroom was clean with a very good shower unit. The toiletries should have been increased to reflect the 3 adults staying but was not a major problem. Breakfast was superb and included fresh smoked salmon. We also had dinner at the hotel which again was of high quality. The staff had lovely welcoming manner and were helpful when asked about local facilities etc. On one particular morning the attendance for breakfast exceed the number of places available. When available the tables were cleared straight away and cleaned before the next guests sat down. The queue was reduced a quickly as possible without pressurising the guests already eating. Great service. The bar has a nice layout with a good atmosphere on the night were drank there. The location of the hotel is excellent.! 5 minute walk into Edinburgh city centre and a 15 minutes bus ride from the airport. Train and bus station only a 5 minute walk away. I would definitely stay here again and suggest the price remain competitive.

Hotel is in decent condition but could do with some cars and attention. Queues for meals and food from the freezer but staff good, attentive and helpful.

Booked premier Inn for a hens for 26 of us. It was one of the nicest hoteles I have stayed in for friendly services and how they went out of their way to help us, receptionist Maggie was so so nice to deal with … we arrived at 7 in the morning and she arranged that one room was ready for us as we had two OAP with us so they were able to check in early. Every single person loved the breakfast lovely fresh food each morning. Rooms were so comfortable I'd definitely recommend this hotel. Thanks again for a wonderful service x.

Good clean simple and what I would expect. Wish the twin rooms were acually twin and not double plus super skinny addon. Price was high but Edinburgh. For that price breakfast should be included. Service was fine. Carpets in the hallways little tatty. Location was great but parking was expensive.

Reasonably priced standard Premier Inn rooms located about 3minute walk up Lothian Road from Haymarket Railway Station — great for the Tram without the City Centre mayhem/price. Breakfast buffet is very good — £1 cheaper if you pre-book or can be included in an evening meal-deal. Poached eggs have been perfect every time I have ordered and everything topped up regularly. Parking spaces at back of hotel are limited and cost £8 per 24hrs but on-street parking on Lothian Road is free from 18:30-08:30h. Plenty of bars, places to eat and convenience shops within 5minutes walk of hotel. Royal Mile/Grassmarket can be strolled to in 15minutes. Reception staff are efficient but a bit robotic lacking any warmth — maybe due to the large number of rooms and throughput of occupants.

Good location in Haymarket with plenty of options around for food and drink. The rooms are typical Premier Inn quality with outrageously comfortable beds. The breakfast bar is pretty varied with Full English, Continental, fruits, a Costa coffe machine and pastries. The staff are pretty friendly and the rooms are good value for the price.

Nice enough premises, but location (sandwiched between 2 busy roads) make it horrendously noisy. So much so, that the "a good night's sleep or your money back" promise wasn't honoured as they'd otherwise be refunding customers all the time. Bar is overpriced too for what it is.

Lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. Room was upto the usual premier Inn standard, great water pressure in the shower and no Lenny Henry in sight.

Nice central location about 5 minute walk from Haymarket train station. Hotel is as you would expect, rooms are decent but not amazing. Staff are very friendly and the service in the bar and restaurant is great.

Although room not as updated as some other premier inns, was an enjoyable stay because of the hospitslity. Location was good and good service.

This hotel is located very close to Haymarket train station which also has a tram stop and most bus routes have a stop near the station, making this hotel an ideal hub to explore Edinburgh and perhaps further afield. The hotel it's self is "typical" Premier Inn — by that I mean a basic room but a big comfy bed, a choice of pillows and nice bedding. The only downside for me, was some intrusive noise from the road at the front of the hotel. It's also worth noting that there is major development works opposite the hotel which started since my stay so I can't comment on the impact it may have had.

Booked Premier Inn for a Weekend away Front of desk is nice an clean and up to date but that's where it ends. Bedrooms are very much out of date. My Girlfriend who is a Head Housekeeper for Premier Inn said the rooms are about 15-20 years old. The room we were given at first wasn't clean dusty all over toilet pan inside dirty. Carpet next to bed ripped. We said to girls at desk who were very helpful and changed us rooms but this room was slightly better but not by much. We maid the most of it as we were here to enjoy ourselves. Hotel is in easy walk of Haymarket Station and central to city shops. We ate in the hotel on the Tuesday morning for breakfast which was good. Buffet breakfast with everything you could ask for and was well priced. Would I go back only if there was a major upgrade in the rooms.

We stay there for 5 nights. Great hotel and not noisy… very clean.

Stayed here with my daughter. Excellent location. Very short walk from train station. Service was also great. My room was not ready on arrival and was offered a different room but was willing to wait 10 minutes for room booked. Had breakfast and supper on the 2 days we were here which were faultless. Would definitely come here again.

Had a great time with on a business trip, shared the room with my wife and children bit squished but we all had a great time.

No air conditioning, it is 28 degrees in the room today, if it's hot you cannot stay here. Unless you pay for the Internet @ £5 per day it is none existent, even though they suggest it is free makeing it unsuitable for business.

It was worth, is very close to the Center. With a short walk after a hearty breakfast in the Castle.
It is a great luxury hotel, but to visit the city no need more, it would repeat certain.

Another premier inn, like all the rest — clean safe tidy predictable. However this one seems massive. 3 mins from Haymarket train station, so nice n easy to get to. Take one of two main roads upto either Princess street, or the old town (Greenmarket Square), both take 25-30 mins walk. I'd go again.
