A really lovely guest house conveniently located for both the city and university campuses. Immaculately maintained and an absolutely charming host!

Very quiet stay, all very clean and unbeatable attention. It is a bit far from the center but the combinations of public transport are at the door. Breakfast included and it looks like they don't make dinners or meals.

Very cozy, the owner is a close and attentive person. It made us feel at home. If we have the chance we'll repeat.

Fantastic B&B! Our 2 rooms were large with big windows over-looking the main street and the gardens. The beds were heaven after a long day of car travel from York. The WC's are updated and very clean and the morning breakfast offered a fresh continental selection and full hot breakfast cooked to order. I will stay here again when I return.

Absolutely wonderful! It felt more like going home to mom's than a b&b to me. They went out of their way to help us, and were incredibly supportive through a migraine. They offered to break bills for change for the bus, happily directed us to local places for whatever we needed. Cath even grabbed an item from the store for me when I had been unable to locate it. Breakfast every day was delicious, and quite filling. Cath would enquire our plans for the day and offer suggestions of other places nearby that we might be interested in. Then the next day would ask how our visit went! A truly wonderful place, with wonderful people. My only complaint was lack of parking, but they have no control over that being in Edinburgh.

We loced our stay here for 2 nights. The owner couldnt have been more helpful and attentive… nice comfy beds, good selection for breakfasts and just an overall nice place to relax… the only little thing I wasnt to chuffed about was the rather early check out time 10am is a bit early for a hotel. 10.30 or 11is more adequate. However we slept in on our last night but there was no issues and we checked out about 20 mins after. Would highly recommend this place though.

Absolutely Wonderful, Was in Edinburgh for Departmental Xmas Bash, Cath was a wonderful Hostess. I'm sure we will adopt the Alba as our Edinburgh Residence :D.

This Bed & Breakfast is an ideal location for those wanting to station themselves near the heart of Edinburgh for their vacation. It's just a short bus ride from City Centre or you could even walk downtown if you wanted to… The innkeeper there is a lovely woman with both a kind personality and vast knowledge of the area. She runs her B&B very efficiently and helped us with tips on transportation and hot spots. The room was comfortable and the homemade Scottish breakfasts are delicious… You will certainly not go hungry!

We had a great time at Alba House. We were made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was delicious. Excellent location near a frequent bus route straight into the heart of Edinburgh. Our room was very clean and the bed was really comfy. We'll be back so watch out Alba House. Thank you so much.

My wife and I Honeymooned in Edinburgh and stayed at the Alba House. It was the most comfortable and friendly atmosphere we could have hoped for. Reasonable rates, great breakfasts and wonderful hosts.
