Went there yesterday for the first time for food. Great service and friendly staff good food will definitely eat there again.
Bar staff were excellent.

Called in yesterday. Had a nice lunch time meal which was reasonably priced. Premises was spotless and staff polite and attentive.

To say I was surprised is a bit condescending to old, high street pubs, but it is true. The 3 men smoking round the front door didn't help. Once inside I saw the difference. The decor was modern and light with a ceiling lit surround.
Bar and a friendly young man who found my reservation, pulled a much needed pint and took my evening meal order to avoid missing the 9PM deadline. My meal was fish and chips, again a bit stereotypical, but it is a good meal to compare with other F&Cs. Very nice crisp golden batter presented with perfect mushey peas and chips, and tarter sauce not a plastic bottel or packet set in front of me. Wonderful round booths all facing the TV should I fancy footie or news in the morning over breakfast. Which was also presented in piping hot crockery with presentation.
The real surprise came with the single bedroom. Great price with new furniture and bath fixtures. The bed was IKEA Sweedish with a deuve to match. The Fete a comple was the housekeeping. My it was clean! I didn't take any pictures, but if I had it could have been of the bathroom corner under the sink. You know what might have seen, old pipes chipped paint and dust turned solid. Well this was different it was ALL spotless. Glass shower and fixtures likewise. I was advised at booking that it is on High St and traffic and people noise is to be expected. That was true so I brought my ear plugs and had a good night's sleep.

Can’t make a cappuccino even. Bad form for a hostelry.

Toilets facilities dreadfull! needed a good clean had a coke and left!

Staff seem to take issue with non-locals. I might even be so bold to say they’re racist to Americans and my Vietnamese friend dining with me. The wait staff refused to acknowledge our existence. We waited close to an hour for our food, while another group who ordered at the same time were immediately served their meals. We didn’t even get our food until we’ll after the other group had finished and their table cleared.

Food tasted like grass, smelt like grass, everything smelt like grass.

Good food reasonably priced could do with some real ale though.

Amazing roast for adults and kids and the sticky toffee pudding is amazing.

A good welcome from the barman/waiter, well prepared food and a good selection of food on the menu. Cheap and cheerful. Will definitely visit again if were in the area.

Lovely pub, good beer and food.

Nice bar and bar staff. Very clean. Very friendly. Breakfast excellent. Stayed here on Saturday night was told by a member of Staff when signing in that there may be a bit of noise till 1am. What a joke/lie. It was so noisy by music and youngsters in the bar and also flowing out into the street, youngster being so drunk and using very fowl language sitting on the pavement breaking glasses and bottles till 2.45 on Sunday morning. This most happen every weekend cause at 6.45 on Sunday morning we were then woken by a street cleaner running his machine and clearing up all the mess left 4hours previously. It was like watching brits abroad. We would never ever recommend anyone stay there at a weekend paying all that money for 4hours sleep and feeling nackered the next day.

Stopped by as working in the area. Very welcoming. Cold beer and food was awesome.

A fine establishment, a true feature of Builth society and one where you'll always find pillars of the community congregating. I must say when I heard about the latest makeover while living away I had my doubts, especially how would it survive all the gogs during Show Week, but was thoroughly impressed when I was home recently. The revamped menu looks spectacular. What I love about the Horse is it can be a nice classy establishment to take the other half for a meal just as easily as it can be an ideal venue for a dirty Sunday Sesh where someone craps their pants.

Great pub and b and b really got us out the crap as needed a room walked in 5 minutes later check in nice friendly people!

Lovely pub from the outside Look old fashioned when you walked in side very roomy very light and modern really friendly helpful staff fan tastic menu plenty of choices great food couldn't fault it asked if everything is alright at the end of the meal which it definitely was and the price is a very reasonable recommend this to anybody.

My mate linsay chester introduced me to the white horse. Perfect place to stay.
