Fantastic place, tidy, clean, amazing personnel, disposable. Affordable, definitely recommend it.

Hostel with plenty of Space and ambient but a bit far from the centre. Brewing takes a very long time before you get warm.

The service was good. I felt comfortable.

Great place to stay, friendly staff and recently refurbished so the accommodation is spotless.

Just about everything is ghetto, from the beds to the showers, with the exception (notable) of the price.

Spent a couple of days in 2017 and a week in 2018: great hostel! Comfortable beds and quiet rooms, fully equipped kitchen and stylish common rooms!

Nice place to stay overnight, but the room I was in was quite cold despite heaters turned to full.

Lovely staff. A little dated but very very adequate. I believe it's since been renovated too.

Lovely well run, clean hostel. Rooms are simple but adequate. Not sure, about the whingers, complaining about the distance to the city, but it's a lovely stroll to union St. The x17 is right at your door. Big Tip: Ifyou are arriving by train, walk round the corner to the main bus depot and grab the X17. It drops you right at the front of the hostel, it's just a quick jump across the road to the hostel's front door!

Huge old house, very good atmosphere, lots of different nationalities and chatting around the dining room. Friendly helpful staff.

Overall it's Good, the location is good and Aberdeen is safe wherever you look at it. Unfortunately the hostel does not have an elevator, I got to be on the top floor. But the beds and rooms as well as the bathroom comfortable. Clean above all.

Should be closed while the works going on and tomany pepole use it for going to work as a base its been like that for years there should be a floor for those guys or they should stay in hotels and bed and breakfasts the late curfew its to late and the place its falling a part the killin hostel got pulled down and it was not as bad as this s wont be back.

Fairly normal hostel Although the Wi-Fi is terrible and the shower (at least the one I tried) was not adjustable on a human temperature, or boiling or freezing.
It is not far from the center but it still takes a half hour of walking time to get there from the station.

Very nice hostel setting, but you have to walk a bit to get to the city center.
Solution of private rooms for 2 inexpensive (I think we paid £ 2-3 each), and that allows a stay in serenity.
The beds are OK, the kitchen rather convenient, and the staff very friendly.
Possibility to leave the baggage for free in the luggage room if you arrive earlier than expected.

This was my second stay at Aberdeen and I wasn't disappointed. Very nice and friendly staff and plenty of parking too.

Walkable distance from Union Street. Comfortable enough beds. Breakfast was quick but not really satisfying. Showers worked well.

Used this place as a lay-by Back in 2008 and it was Jst what it's meant to be. Lay-by! Good value.

Unless you're rich or have a company paying for you; there are not many other options. Hotels are ridiculously priced. I have stayed often and was pleasantly surprised after what I was expecting having read other reviews. Always book with the hostel or SYHA directly as it is cheaper. Not every room has a power socket in the room, so take an extension reel. Clientele: some good, some bad. You can make some good friends (if there long enough) and you also have ignorant people who think the room is only for them (switching lights on during the night etc). Thankfully the good far outweigh the bad. Many of the people staying there are there due to work. This surprises quite a lot of people who think a hostel is for homeless people, bizarrely. Overall, it is a handy place to have because it is cheap, conveniently located, and has a friendly atmosphere. Be courteous and polite and you'll fit right in.

Pros: Good kitchen, Decent mattresses (for a hostel) Cons: Expensive, No power outlet in rooms, Computers not working, Wi-Fi not working, Staff inattentive.

It is a hostel, you will find room for you or for many. Shared bathrooms. Pretty well.

Good kitchen. Felt like a usual youth hostel.

Pros: good kitchen, a nice TV room to relax in, Wi-Fi and 4 computers available, clean, cheap Cons: internets a bit pricey, spring mattresses are a little uncomfortable, showers (at least the mens ones) don't have doors instead they have 2 shower curtains. Overall would recommend to travellers going tho aberdeen on a budget.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and bathrooms. Nice quiet location which is pretty close to the city center it's only a 5 min walk. I would recommend this hostel and if I ever come back. I would repeat the experience.
