A lovely night and great staff wonderful.

Just been for a meal there for my lady’s birthday the beer was off and the food was a disaster chicken fajitas tasted like chicken in tomato sauce an absolute joke. I used to go there years ago but obviously gone right down hill. 0 out of ten better food in the Saltcot and it’s all microwaved.

Brilliant services from the staff and food was very good aswell.

Christmas day dinner was great. Service was quick and meal pipping hot.
Our 4th christmas day dinner not been disappointed yet. Well done.

Attended the gin and cocktail day today. Waited absolutely ages to order drinks, by the time we actually got the drinks, an hour and a half had passed. It was busy with hardly any staff. So much so that some of our party ordered two drinks at once. The waitresses and bar staff were hard worked. I complained about the service to the female owner who advised that she was sorry about it but didn’t not seem overly bothered. Remember they have our money at this point. £20 for 4 drinks which is reasonable but later had to advise the bar staff that some drinks were missing from the latest order. The male behind the bar (possibly other owner) asked me if I had ever worked in a bar and went on to advise that it takes time to make cocktails. Like I don’t know this! I advised that we waited 1 and half hours for our first drink which he said was incorrect as he had been there. He was not at the bar when we ordered our first drink at all. Very rude, And not the right response to a disgruntled customer. This event was a shambles from the start. Nowhere near enough staff to serve the amount of people. Smacks of pure greed to me. Thankfully purely because of the company we had a good time. None of our table of 11 will ever be back. Shame on you Lauriston Hotel. As I told the man at the bar ‘your attitude stinks’

Brilliant food for money very friendly staff and quick service with a relaxing atmosphere.

I always enjoy the food In the hotel, and would recommend the hotel for that reason. Also I have organised functions and they have been good also. Staff are helpful.

Went to the Lauriston on Saturday night for a meal, when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to be told that the special 2 & 3 course menu was still available. £10.95 for 2 course £12.95 for 3 this is on till 6:30 on a Saturday evening and all through the week, each course was fresh and tasty and good portions, I can highly recommend a trip here good food, nice surroundings and pleasant, efficient staff.

We were at a wedding food was ok but if you were in a the restaurant you would be complaining about burnt roasted and solid sweet corn. Also found it strange that people just walked amongst the wedding guests and sat down and ordered food.

Food excellent but service very slow. Staff kept complaining that there wasn't enough on a busy day. For the price you would expect better service without attitude.

Good service and room's. The ambience is authentic and the restaurant looks nice. Have not tried the dinner, but judging by the breakfast it is good. All in all a nice place to stay if in town.

Had an early dinner with my hubby good was delicious service great friendly staff great value would highly reccomend.

Over priced for the quality of food you get. Staff attentive and pleasant, but won't be rushing back.

Good food slow service cramped for wheelchairs in side although good access in and out nice staff.

Nice place too eat but the menu is a lot smaller than it used to be you cant even get a mixed grill! The cullen skink which is my favourite but no longer served in a edible basket also stil a wee bit too salty. But the service we received was excellent not a cheap meal there are other places but nice for somewhere different.

I was there for lunch. It was freezing! Advice is don't sit in the conservatory area on a windy winter's day! Food was good and menus were quite varied.

Lovely place. Great staff and good food at a honest price. 100 yards from the train station so a fantastic spot if your on a trip to Arran and need to spend the night on the main land. Breakfast was perfect with a good selection for the Scottish true blood. Shower had a great pressure and a refreshing feel to it. Rooms were clean and tidy with a modern-day feel to them. All in All a good night at a great price.

Very welcoming, was with my husband while he watched the football And at half time loads of scotch pie's where given out to everyone.

Room was spotless. Meal was lovely and the service was good. Didn't have to wait to long between courses but didn't feel rushed. This was the same for breakfast. The only negative point was there was no-one at reception when checking in and checking out. Joanna was most helpful on both of these occasions while still serving in the bar/restaurant. She seemed to be the only member of staff available. 10/10 to her.

The family room is huge, with one king size and two full sized single beds, table and four chairs, dressing table and double wardrobe and still enough room to have a dance! Big bay window with three massive fully opening (if you choose) Windows looking out onto the beach and the isle of Arran. En suite bathroom with shower and full sized bath. Great cooked breakfast and lovely restaurant.

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Decor in room a bit tired. Sea views on front rooms.

My friend and I booked an afternoon tea and we were not disappointed. There was a decent selection of sandwhiches (4 triangles each) and an abundance of cakes. We actually couldn't eat it all. The member of staff took it away and boxed it up for us which was a nice touch. Great value for money, so much so I've arranged to go back with some other friends.

Bedroom a bit dated but warm, comfortable and clean. Staff and service could not be faulted Dining room and bar area, toilets etc impeccably clean and by the looks recently updated to a high modern Scottish theme. If you are looking for a small independent hotel put it on your list. 4 stars only for the dated bedroom.

The food was rather nice and the service was second to none. The room had a very well kept aura about it and the bedding was clean. I liked the whole experiance. Full points.

Good location for exploring Ayrshire. Nice food in restaurant. Good service, staff work hard. Not much to do in direct location but opposite sea. Rooms clean and comfortable but quite basic. Car park. Book a seaview though as other rooms overlook a scruffy yard.

Service was good an staff pleasant an helpful For a wedding though after meal not enough bar staff an not willing to make cocktails as too busy with public coming in for meals. A little chaotic and not very well organised. Hotel rather small for large wedding and appeared unable to cope with large numbers.

Stayed in room 1 which was very tired with a view over the hotels roof again not very pleasant to look out over room was clean and warm though bed was two singles pushed together which kept parting during the night Bathroom could do with a revamp aswel. Breakfast was alright though downstairs is nice and staff pleasant. Glad I stayed here on my company as if I paid myself review would be very more negative! it wasnt free I wouldnt stay again!

Great place to eat/drink & family orientated too so brilliant, value for money, lovely/friendly staff whom are always on hand to help with anything, great food for all ages with alcoholic beverages or none alcoholic beverages also & staff are also very accommodating too, great place with fantastic views also, always bring my friends & family here… love it.

Went today to celebrate Mother's Day. Unfortunately the food wasn't up to the celebration. Had a pasta dish with Cajun chicken which, for some unknown reason, was rather sweet, and the penne was overdone. Couldn't finish it, neither could my mum. Kids ice cream had frozen water crystals in it, probably due to defrosting then being frozen again.

We went for Sunday Lunch and it was excellent. There were 6 of us (4 adults, 2 children) and the food was amazing. We had a mix of 2/3 courses and we will most definitely be back. The food was fresh and beautifully cooked. Can't wait to go back :)
