The staff at the wookey hole inn are amazing and can’t do enough for you, the food was delicious and the garden is stunning and lovely to relax. I will definitely be visiting again.

The food is amazing and the staff can't do enough for you. Would definitely eat here again in fact would make the 300mile trip just to eat… the chicken, chilli mash and whiskey cream sauce is amazing!

Had a meal here last night and the food was amazing. We had the tempura prawns for starters omg they were gorgeous. I then had sweet chilli chicken and my husband had the best burger ever, The Wookey Burger. If you are looking for somewhere to eat we would definitely recommend The Wookey Hole Inn. We came down from cheshire and had a wonderful meal, the service was fantastic very friendly and welcoming, next time we come to the area we will stay in the pub too! excellent in every way thankyou!

We visited yesterday with our daughter who suffers with a serious nut allergy. The chef could not have been more attentive to her needs. Making her own meal that was not even on the menus. Hugely refreshing after being refuseds service in other pubs/restaurants. Thank you so much. Helps the food was delicious too 😋

Had the most magical time staying at your resort the Christmas experience was fantastic. Staff were so welcoming and friendly, caves were magical.

Was a nice few hours out not good getting charged full price when a lot of things are closed and definitely take your own food as it was very over priced for what it was and came out with in 3 minutes of ordering to be cold and raw.

Staff weren’t very helpful, nothing was going on apart from a santa we spoke to for 2 minutes and the lights in the caves.
Didn’t feel like a winter wonderland if I’m honest.

First time we've ever been. Cave was beautiful decorated for winter wonderland experience. Only disappointment was we weren't aware the 4D witches cinema experience was closed due to Covid completely understand why. Just wish we knew prior to stop our daughter being really upset as this was her main focus to see the witch show.

Appalling. Would not recommend. Queued for hours.

I so wanted to love this, I have such happy memories of visiting as a child and couldn’t wait to take my young family. However, having paid an extortionate price to get in and pre booking online, when we got there, huge queues just to get to the ticket kiosk who were letting in members of the public who had not pre booked. Then we queued again for over an hour to get into the caves, with no social distancing whatsoever in place. Not ideal with 2 bored children. When we got to the cave entrance one poor member of staff who was clearly stressed by the situation was having to give multiple instructions to each party whilst also having to up-sell glow sticks. We were quickly herded through the caves, not able to enjoy them because so many people were pouring through. We probably spent less than 15 minutes in them. Following the caves, we went through the most bizarre attractions, which seemingly had no link to the caves — an enormous King Kong and some dinosaurs. Why not celebrate the caves and embrace the witch story more?! Other attractions were closed. We also had lunch, which again was extortionately priced and awful quality, served in polystyrene containers with plastic forks (surely places like this should be promoting less use of plastic and using more environmentally friendly options! ) Crazy golf was ok, but felt rushed and we were lucky that we got there before the queue for that was too long too. The most enjoyable part of the day was the delicious ice cream.

I would live to thank a the staff for such a tremendous effort in such trying times.
All things considered they really went the extra mile.
covid has wreaked so much and it's great to see life carry on.
I would especially like to thank the wonderful lady in the gift shop who found my theme park pass wallet I dropped and went far to return it to me.
I'm grateful as this loss would have wrecked our holiday for the summer.
We will be back and look forward to the little things we had to miss.

Went on a wookey wild experience today. Wow it was amazing. A huge thank you to Craig for making this great experience a truly amazing experience.

This was a really fun day out. We took friends, so there were 4 adults and 4 kids (aged 4-8yrs) in our party. All had a great time. The circus was particularly good, and the caves of course.
Only criticism would be the cafe. Food wasn't great, and they ran out of jacket potatoes, which is our fall-back when everything else looks a bit disappointing. The kids lunch box packs contained sweets, crisps, biscuits and a white bread roll of cheese or ham, plus a drink. Zero nutritional value, and the worst version of these lunch boxes I've ever come across.
But I'll stress again, the rest of Wookey was great and we'll definitely be returning. Hoping they've changed their food offering by then.

We had a fantastic day at Wookey Hole. We took 3 children and there’s so much to do we only just for everything in! Santa was brilliant and took his time talking to our kids and gave them a lovely gift each. The caves were amazing and the circus was superb. Such talented young performers. Overall I would highly recommend a visit, thank you Wookey for such a good day out!

Amazing place great for kids of all ages. We had a hotel package, great value for money, highly recommend! the only one thing that would be a issue I think would be it's not ideal for anyone unsteady on their feet or in a wheelchair.

Great attraction great interactive tour and lots of extra things to do!

What do I say about this place… well we got married there for a start. It was absolutely beautiful. The whole team were fantastic. All the guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. They toured the caves after the ceremony. We stayed in the witches hat the night of our wedding only thing il say is be sure to shut the bathroom door as its a bright start with the sun beaming in your face.

Great place to go on a not so dry day. Doesn't matter if it's raining when you're in caves. The caves are amazing, better than I expected. Other attractions work and make it a good day out on a not so good day weather wise.

The exhibits are old and tired and dull, toilets need a refurb. The Caves are fab but it's a guided tour which though really interesting, I felt I was rushed and didn't get chance to stop and take a really good look around.

I was a lucky winner of a family ticket to Wookey Hole. It was a great experience! Loved the tour, really informative and fun too! The dinosaurs were absolutely amazing! A fantastic family day out! Highly recommended.

Thank you for a great visit yesterday. The cave tour was very interesting (my children can't decide what to believe about the witch though! ) They loved the circus and 4D cinema and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed for the Arrival show in the evening which was brilliant and such a great venue for it. We had a great time singing and dancing along to the music.

Excellent day at wookey hole today, all staff friendly and helpful. Circus a big hit. Kids enjoyed doing the egg hunt. Would deffo come again. Oh and I must say nice to see clean toilets, well done to all staff. Thank you.

First visit for over 15 years. Excellent tour of the caves, spectacular. Particularly enjoyed the circus show, very talented youngsters with a professional show. Golf was great too. The downside was the catering, very overpriced and unappitising offering. £6.50 for a cream tea, £4.25 for a packaged sandwich and £2.40 for a very weak coffee. No lunch here! We drove to Wells for a superb lunch at half the price!
Otherwise, loved the visit. Great fun.

Fun day for kind. Good value for money BUT not very pushchair friendly. Pushchairs had to be left behind in quite a few areas such as the caves, circus and 4d cinema. But its a good day out with lots to do and see! The circus was amazing! They take kids from local circus school and they are super talented. I can honestly say the kids sat silently mesmerized even the 2yr old!

If you’re looking for some family fun around Somerset, I would definitely recommend the Wookey Hole Caves! I went at the end July and unfortunately caught the bad weather so we decided to take a trip here. The historical features combined with the different acts and timeless aspects are brilliant! The caves are brilliant and if you go, I would highly recommend Dan the guide. I cannot commend his abilities as a tour guide enough especially with his tales of the Wookey Witch and caves. We then saw the circus act, young children who attend the circus school and have many brilliant talents! There is 4D ride and the so many fun things to keep adults and children entertained. They have vintage fortune teller machines and other old arcade games dating back before 1930’s. This place is brilliant and I would definitely go. Top Tip — if you work for the civil service, show your badge or pass for a huge discount!

Children didnt get bored once and enjoyed every minute everything from the caves to the wookey witch. All the staff were friendly and helpful and our guide was very informative and explained everything clearly.
The penny arcade was lots of fun for kids.
It was abit of a shame we didnt get to see the 4d cinema show or get to do the crazy golf.
My only gripe with the whole day was the over priced restaurant which we were all looking forward to after a day of of fun
The selection of food on offer wasnt what was expected and when a sandwhich is priced at £4 plus it was abit disappointing for what you got and also the quality wasnt very good either, with warm cheese and soft biscuits in the kids meals and having to wait nearly 10 minutes for change from the cashier
The day was great and I would recommend a visit but bring a packed lunch unless you want to be left disapointed. Thats why this review didnt receive 5

An interesting place. Caves are cool if you are into dark underground places. However, the place as a whole suffers from of an major identity crisis. Is it nature tourist stop? Is it a theme park? Is it a play ground? Not sure! Need a serious review to understand its own identity. Otherwise it was a good visit.

We were extremely impressed with this place. It's a little 'old fashioned' and could do with a bit of an update but the entertainment value was excellent. During our visit we arrived late in the day so took advice from the lovely girl in the ticket office who advised us to first of all see the circus act and then do the cave tour followed by the 4D movie experience. All the girls in the circus act were amazing and very talented. Very inspiring to see some really young girls doing some amazing acrobatics. The caves had us in awe… very well lit up and the guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. There is an enormous amount of history in this place and it was interesting to learn that the first ever cave dive took place here and that some of the current cave divers here took part in the rescue operation to help the boys in Thailand who had become trapped in a cave due to floods. The 4D movie experience wasn't the best I have ever attended but it was really good. The paper making was very interesting especially when we found out they've actually only recently stopped making paper there! A fun activity for the kids especially. For kids this place is fantastic with the fairy garden, dinosaurs and a huge indoor play area. The hall of mirrors and slot machines were good too but avoid the slot machines and in particular the 'coin dozer' as it is rigged for you to never win! The cheddar cheese was beautiful and a reasonable price too. In fact the shop was very good.

I was kinda bored during the caves bit, only because I'm deaf and couldn't understand what the guide was saying. We did put it as an request thing on the website (where we booked) and told the person at the front that I was deaf, however the message was not passed on to the guide. After talking to him at the end of the tour, he said that scripts are given to the deaf, but as he didnt get the message, he was very apologetic.
Were offered the choice to leave the pram at the top, or carry it around caves. We left it and carried the little one. It was a bit annoying having to go all the way back to the start to collect it, when baby was tired. Perhaps another way for this, maybe someone could bring them down, as I'm sure some other parents take the pram up, and change their minds, leaving the pram up top and carrying their child.
Pirate was hilarious, we had a selfie taken with him to enter the competition, I dont think he likes babies…
Over all though, despite the little hiccup at the start, I enjoyed it.

Wookey Hole was… well, odd. That's the best was way of putting it. Don't misunderstand — we had a good day out. The caves were fantastic. The dinosaurs outside the cave were interesting. The 4D cinema was fun. The old arcade machines were entertaining. And the crazy golf was a laugh. But what I can't figure out is what links them all together. It's a strange combination but it mostly works. Couple warnings: the guides will wait until there are enough people waiting before they start the tour. You could be standing at the entrance for a while. Also there's a picnic area after the caves, but if you've left your food in the car to avoid carrying it round the caves you've got to walk through everything else to get to the car park and back the same way.

We travelled to Brean for a holiday and planned on going to Cheddar Caves but a lady in Asda recommended Wookey Hole as a better adventure! Have to say, we weren't disappointed! What a fantastic little gem! Thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to anyone! Well worth a visit.

Great place itself with fantastic history to tell. The cave tour guide was of questionable quality. Some of his comments were innapropriate for the audience in question. Make sure you do a little reading on the cave history beforehand as it will help with the sparse details given during the tour. The food in the restaurant was very expensive and hardly exceptional! My advice would be to eat elsewhere if possible, then it becomes quite a reasonable day out. Ice cream flavour selection is vast in the separate parlour at the entrance. Again price is high but quality is simply top notch, so cannot complain. Well worth a visit, and you don't actually need a ticket to the caves to partake in the ice-cream :D Great for kids and the retro arcade section with soft play is a welcome break for parents.

Have regularly visited this tourist attraction over the years, however I had not been back for around 11 years. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much it has grown and expanded! The attractions they have added since my previous visit certainly compliment what was already there. The dinosaur section visually aids further what the guides tell you in the caves along with the artifacts section. The caves themselves are spectacular and they are discovering further ones as they continue to explore in them. Guides are informative and witty. The restaurants are good value and the food is also good. You can sample the cave aged cheese in the gift shop and would certainly recommend buying some to take home. Ample car parking space. There is now a hotel on site as well as holiday chalets up above the attraction, which would make a good base to further explore the area from. I won't leave it so long until my next visit!

Awesome place! Great for kids and adults. Very different and unusual thing compared to usual activities. It's great having the caves as well as all the other attractions included in ticket price (including mini golf). Caves were very nice and not too small. I was worried (being extremely chlostrophobic) that I would not be able to do the caves. However they were all very big. There were some places where you had to duck your head but it wasn't too bad when you saw the caves after it. 10/10 would recommend.

A refreshing change to pay once at the gate (or online for a discount) and then not get hit again for every little thing once inside. The things that did cost extra, namely the old penny arcades, were reasonably priced and didn't make us feel cheated. The kids (4 and 2) loved it, and there was plenty to keep them entertained all day. The staff were all super friendly and more than happy to open up the carousel for one last ride when they were clearly closing up. Our eldest was especially taken by the resident witch, and asked for photos with her twice. The 4D cinema was a bit disjointed, being set up as if it's going to be something spooky to do with the witch (I was expecting a ride similar to Hex at Alton Towers), but then after a long witchy introduction it ended up just being an Ice Age short. Very odd. Still, a great day overall. There's probably not enough to do if you don't have kids to entertain, but it's great for families. We'll be back I'm sure.

Very entertaining and there is loads to do. I loved the mirror maze it reminded me of the mirror maze in the Edinburgh dungeons. I also liked the penny arcade. The guide tour through the cave was also good the guide was good at explaining things and he made a few jokes now and then which made the visit more enjoyable. All the staff give me and my family good customer service. I would not recommend the caves for children under the age of 5 but I would recommend it to friends and children age five and above. I also enjoyed the stay at the wookey hole lodge. Hope to see the caves in the future keep up the good work.

I've been here and I had a tour inside the caves. It's really interesting for kids and also adults. The cave is really well looked after and the guide speaks in the perfect way to be understood from kids but also who doesn't know perfectly English. Outside the caves there is a kind of Jurassic world where children can have fun with interactive games.

Love these caves, I've been a few times. They've expanded the site through the decades and there's a lot of stuff to do. The tour round the actual caves is good but I want more information about the geology and history, so in a largish, (but not unmanageable) group there's not quite the time. It's still a spectacular place though. Outside the caves there's the old paper making mill which is interesting to learn about, play area for the kids, vintage arcade games and much more. There's plenty of stuff to keep everyone occupied. I'd recommend it.

Great day out, for adults as well as kids. Arrived just before 10 on a Saturday, no real queue. The caves themselves were impressive and obviously the highlight, but they're clearly tried hard to make it a full day out. The fairy gardens and the dinosaurs were pretty lame, but the 4d show was actually pretty good. I enjoyed the cave diving museum, the old paper mill, the mirror maze, and the old fashioned arcade machines. The mini golf was a fun course and felt like an added bonus.

Lovely place. Lots to do for the cost it is. We booked online for a discount. Brilliant for all ages, youngest in our party is 4 years old and she already wants to go again for the "drippy wet caves" The cave tours could be made smaller, but we did go on Easter Sunday so guessing it wouldn't normally be as busy. The 4D cinema experience was a big hit with my children (and adults)! Overall a great day out, and will more than likely return on our next visit to the area!

This place really is amazing! Great for the adults as well as the children. Tour of the caves when you first enter wookey hole and a guided tour of the history behind them. Dinosaur Valley, 4D cinema, museum, theatre circus show, play area, penny arcade and lots lots more. This please really is worth it's money. I would advise anyone who visits close by to go here and spend the day. You really won't be disappointed!

Great especially if you go with the children s. Part of the visit to the caves after there is a park with dinosaur animatronics, a super castle games roll chikiparc where you can for to eat or drink something, a maze of mirrors, etc To spend all day there without a problem. The caves are beautiful and the environment also.

Wookey Hole. I'd say it's about £10pp overpriced. Caves are interesting, but the 20min tour inside isn't blow-your-socks-off interesting. Outside the animatronic dinosaurs (only about 20% of all the models move) are underwhelming. The interior of the mill have some high points. The kids' play some is good for children ages around 3 to 14, but the pier arcade exhibition feels like wasted space. After paying the high entry fee the fact that all the old games need coins to pay feels like a bit of a con. Most people seem to file quickly through to the gift shop and exit. If you have a keen interest in geology and/or antique amusements, then definitely go. But otherwise you should probably consider whether you'd get more for your money elsewhere.

It's was quite interesting seeing the size of the underground caverns, and was a fairly easy walk around them. We stopped for lunch in the cafe and thought it rather expensive for what you got. The kids circus was very good, they did extremely well and the magic tricks were excellent. Not sure what the dinosaurs have to do with it all, but they looked good anyway, especially the one's which moved.

Fantastic value for money — there is so much here to see and do. We spent 5 hours here but could’ve spent even longer. Surprisingly, everything is included. The 30 minute circus show was excellent, and other venues would’ve likely charged extra admittance on top. Caves are very good and the guided tour is really interesting. Penny arcade was pleasingly brilliant — you can buy old 1d coins for 10p each and the machines will take these. Restaurant was good and generally prices in the gift shop were good too. Not often that you can buy a souvenir guidebook for only £2.50 or a glow stick as you go in to the cave for £2. Staff friendly and helpful and look out for the Witch — she was very friendly and adored posing for photos with the children. Highly recommended day out!

A lot of things too different a little heavy on the edge.

The caves were really nice to see and our guide was knowledgeable even though you could tell he's been using the same jokes for years. The food venues are like visiting a school canteen but the food is ok. Worth a visit but don't plan on it for much entertainment.

You have to go on the tour, which is accompanied by facts about the cave and also a story about a witch for the kids. The whole thing is definitely aimed at children, however still enjoyable for adults. Ie you can see where cheddar cheese is made and get a taster. The queue to get tickets was very long, and we went on a Sunday around 11am. Even if you book your tickets online, everyone has to go in the same queue so it saves you zero time. Although I believe if you book online it's a tad cheaper.

Great day out really good value worth staying overnight at the hotel as entrance tickets to caves and attractions are then free. We took our 7 yr old grandson and he loved it. Hotel rooms clean and tidy. Staff friendly if you eat in the restaurant have the ice cream between 2 it's huge. A good day out.

What a place! From the walk around the park with lots to see and excellent play facilities to the caves! The caves are guided and great fun with the Wookey cheese stored down there to age! The Wookey witch at the entrance can be slightly scary for very little ones but very entertaining! Lots to see and do and the food is reasonable but not exactly amazing! Wasn't too surprising as it's mainly fast food but does the job especially for family's! The 4D ride is worth a go too!

Fantastic experience, enjoyed every moment of it! The tour guide in the caves was well informed and witty, the 4d cinema a blast and the circus amazing. Only downfall was food in the captain Jack cafe, partly down to our late arrival there I suppose, but it wasn't the greatest but one can only imagine it had been sat there a while. Other than that brilliant value for money!

Went for Winter wonderland, disappointed with what we got for what we paid compared to other places we have been for same money. I expected at least an Xmas market or some kind of Xmas food outlet. Restaurant was doing mass produced Xmas lunch and clearly could not cope with number of people wanting to sit and eat. Caves were as always very good and the kids loved it. Winter wonderland/ Santa were massively underwhelming. Cut our losses and had a fantastic ice cream at shop on way out.

Great day out but not much else to do once you have walked around the caves. The food was nice but could do with updating. My son lived the dinosaurs and huge gorilla.

Hadn't been here for over 3 decades. Was nice to visit again. Cave system is slightly bigger and tours run every 30 minutes by a guide. It was very busy when we went and was quite noisy with a few kids crying. In all was good to go back. The museum's and paper mill part was ok. Not sure I felt the ticket price was really worth it. Hence 3 stars.

Great attraction with plenty to do. Caves and indoor attractions. Good time of year to visit Halloween. Book your tickets online, you can do this up to one day in advance. Easy attraction to find well signposted. Small country roads lead you up to the car park. When busy the overflow car park is a field. Loads to see in the attraction. Try the cave tour later in the day. Areas to eat a picnic and sit down also a number of restaurants on site. Food is expensive but as expected for an attraction. Good shop with lots to buy including cave aged cheese. Excellent prices on this well worth buying for Christmas. Overall when in the area well worth a visit. It is more family friendly than Cheddar up the road. Cave tours are excellent.

Great place to go. Caves are very interesting. If you can't physically do them you can sit in the virtual tour suite and do it that way which is great as you don't miss out. Loved the Victorian slot machines — you change your money for the old pennies so you can have a go. Have a go at paper making or watch the demonstration. Couple of places to eat but I think they're a bit pricey!

Excellent attraction for our 7 year old twins. Great guided tour of caves, brilliant story running through and a witches grotto for Halloween too. Food in main restaurant is amazing. Home cooked hot meals and great value too.

Great fun visit. Can get busy as they do school/tourist trips. Try get your ticket online but overall we had a really lovely day. You must visit the cinema it's worth it. Only for the fun factor.

We visited during the summer holidays 2017. I've been visiting for many years. The caves themselves are impressive, well worth a visit, especially following the opening of a new chamber, a spectacularly beautiful example of how geology creates some stunning formations. Some of the displays outside the cave seemed a bit tacky, basically garden ornaments, and I had to cringe at the outdated dinosaur models, but the effort made should be commended, as should the young performers at the on site circus, who clearly put their all into their show, which was packed every time. The clown museum was a bit creepy, but has some amazing model towns. I do wish that we could spend longer in the caves, but appreciate that the number of visitors render that idea impractical. We ran out of time to see everything. I do miss the walk along the watercourses that once powered the mill, but again, footpath plus deep water, you get the picture. A very enjoyable day.

What a great day out! The kids loved it and was very entertained. The caves are beautiful and really good fun to walk round. The 4d cinema is a brilliant idea to the adventure and really makes you feel part of the film! Would go again 100%! Could do with a play park and picnic area tho but other then that 5 stars! Xx.

Great place to visit and a must if your in the area. The crazy golf is a nice touch but the cave tour is the main attraction and well worth it too. Some great information from the staff and very attentive. We loved the caves and also another must is superhero circus… so. E very dedicated performers who do very well. Very large food court and reasonably priced.

Caves were very interesting but the group size for the guided tour was a little too large for my liking, making it difficult to hear the commentary. I would have liked to have spent more time touring round at a slower pace to be able to take in more of the splendid views. Personally not too keen on the theme park appearance but families with younger children did seem to be having a good time. Fair price for a family admission ticket, as it certainly would be possible to spend the whole day here. Food was a little disappointing and expensive with limited adult choice. 4D theatre experience was very entertaining, along with the young circus troupe. Definitely work a visit, with much more to do than just walk around a cave.

Great place to visit but queue to get into the caves can take some time. Food was a bit expensive. £2.95 per sausage roll and £1.95 for a bottle of Seven Up is a bit much. Had a great guide called Toby. Very helpful and also new his stuff. All so cracked a few jokes! 4D cinama worth a visit and the queue to get into it is worth it. One bad thing is that there is no family ticket on offer but you can get discount on line if booked in advance.

From a geological perspective the caves are quite interesting to behold and explore. You will be chaperoned by a guide leading up to 20 people at once. The caving and exploration that has been undertaken is remarkable. They have created a theme based on a legend of a witch living in the cave. The tour and subsequent activities are really tailored to families and children but adults can have fun here too. We particularly enjoyed the old penny arcade where you can see some interesting machines from the past, and the paper mill equipment with a live demo.

Wonderful afternoon/day out. The caves are amazing and the other activities are top fun. A few of the penny arcade machines eat your money but the staff are only too happy to reimburse you.

Excellent day out with plenty to do. The cave tour is great and has some good history. Everything is included in the price except food, gifts and slot machines. The gift shop is reasonably priced and we'll stocked. The food is very much like a school canteen only 4 times the price, a pre packed sandwich is 4 pounds, same one in Tesco is 2 pounds. Plenty of seating areas to eat, you can't eat food not purchased there in the canteen or in some of the seating area but you can outside. I'd highly recommend taking your own food. The staff are happy and welcoming. Disabled toilets are in the car park along with other toilets. Great day out and worth the entry fee, I'd look around locally as advertising leaflets have a discount voucher in them making it more of a bargain.

Great showcases. The rest was a bit quiet on our visit but it was school term time and midweek. No paper making that day. Probably better value for money in school holidays if paper making. We only really went for the caves. Note: If you are NHS, Police or Fire Service, take proof to get very good entry discount… best check discount still available before going.

I was actually quite surprised when we came here after not hearing anything good about it. We thought it was great! The cave tour is actually really interesting, you wouldn't want to freely walk around as it could get dangerous quickly! It also holds the world's only (I forget what it's called) underground waterfall rock formation thing, quite a sight! Definitely worth a trip!

We haven't even been into the caves today and are having an amazing time. The circus show was so good and entertaining that the performers have inspired my 8 year old to join up. The canon ball park is loads of fun, the mirrors made us laugh, the miniature circus models were intriguing for my son and there is still so much more to do. What a lovely day so far. I'd also like to mention the lovely lady at the ticket office who gave my son's donkey a free ticket/badge to come in. It is those kinds of touches that make a day special. Thank you Wookey Hole.

Really lovely clean and staff was very helpful would recommend.

No showers aweful internet and slow and inefficient rest service. Outside of that. Rooms are clean and large.

I saw the bad review and thought I ought to post my thoughts. We Very much enjoyed ourselves with our 6 year old and baby on our first visit. Lots to see and learn for the little ones, caves were interesting, cafe was reasonably priced, soft play was great given the unpredictable UK weather! Our daughters favourite was the 4d film. We went when the weather was not so good and coming back again this weekend to hopefully enjoy the picnic area x.

I really enjoyed visiting the caves as a child, the experience and maze of mirrors were wonderful. A good place to take children. A guided tour is a must though to hear about the history!

A very spacious room with wonderful hotel staff and on-site dining. Close enough to get the Cheddar Cave and Gorge as well. Will be staying here again.

What an appalling place! And I mean appalling not appealing. Anybody writing a positive review here needs to get out of the house more and get a life. The company who runs this sham needs to held accountable for ripping poor families off, feeding them crap for food, showing horrible plastic dinosaurs, and being the tackiest of places… This dump is living in the past. What a joke. Give it a miss if you know what's good for your family. My stomach is aching!

Hotel felt fresh and clean. Room size was fine. Parking was easy and very close by. We ate breakfast in the attached restaurant which was good and has a fair range in the buffet. Staff were friendly. Only a short drive from Wells, and of course it's on the Wookey Hole site.

Thoroughly disappointing! Our hotelier had mentioned at breakfast that the caves were now in the hands of a circus owner. That should have been our warning! Firstly, even in late January the tour groups are far too large, meaning you always have to wait for people to catch up. The tour itself has a guide, however it is narrated by a pre recorded "show". This show is pure pantomime and is childish and factless. The cave is impressive, but it is far too poorly lit, with green and purple mood lighting, leaving much of the cave hidden in darkness. There are numerous sideshows on site, including mini golf, but the cost of entry is far too expensive considering whats on offer. For a better day out and for far more interesting caves you are much better off going to Cheddar Gorge instead.

Very poor attraction. Caves aren't particularly spectacular and the tour narration (pre-recorded) is absolutely dire, not to mention the fact that the sequence broke down half way through so we had to wait for ages while the teenage tour 'guides' worked out how to fix it. The whole attraction is tatty and in serious need of an makeover. Will never return.

If I could give less that one star, I would. Worst caving experience ever — I'd had a fantastic experience few weeks ago in the Dan-yr-Ogof caves in Wales which were absolutely stunning! (would recommend definitely I cant describe how beautiful it is) to then going to this which had been very hyped up on the website. I cant tell you how glad I am I didn't book a hotel stay. Such a huge DISAPPOINTMENT from the get go — completely over priced, way too many on the tour so I could not hear a WORD the tour 'guide' was saying, was not given enough time to look around (unlike dan yr ogof which you're free to explore and spend as much time as you'd like in brightly lit caves! ) and the lighting was absolutely AWFUL so I couldn't even see most of the tiny tiny caves which were mostly not even made naturally! not to mention the ridiculous story they said with the tour which I caught in vague sentences which put me off completely. i'd also like to save anyone who is going to go — TAKE FOOD WITH YOU. The 'restaurant' (i say restaurant lightly) is an absolute travesty. How they could sell that overpriced food to the public just completely confuses me! did not taste nice at all. So please! (chips are good though at a stretch) and lastly I just want to talk about the people that work there. The tour guide was ok — from what I heard. Got a few laughs from a few, and rushed us through as soon as he could.

I loved every second of it! I loved the legend of the witch. As well as the formations. There was a formation that looked like the statue of liberty. And another that looked like St Paul's cathedral. Even one one that looked like dumbo! The cheese in the caves STANK though! The activities there was amazing as well. The pirate golf, the 4d cinema and the mirror maze was one of the best parts of Wookey hole. Definitely an unforgettable experience.

The cave is the ugliest one I have seen anywhere. Only a few stalactites of an inch long and most of the route is dynamite blasted. No interesting formations and no attempt to control the environment to preserve it. No surprise as there is nothing to preserve. Avoid.

Wonderful day glad we went early so not crowded. Circus show was a treat we were not expecting. Shame papermaking now downgraded from proper working display to a childs activity it used to be a very interesting demonstration for adults. To enjoy. Everything now for children only, but our 7 year old grandson loved it all so that meant it was a very good day out overall.

Just had a brilliant nights sleep and excellant breakfast. Bargin price of £75 a night for a family of 5. Room excellant, large and really quiet Got an generous 20% of Caves for booking direct. Kids love it. Definately recommend for a cool family weekend.

Stayed here for three nights. Loved it! The food was good. Breakfast was lovely. Ok so a cooked breakfast was 7:50 but you can help yourself to the buffet too! Room was big and comfy. I would definitely recommend it for all.

Had an excellent nights sleep, a beautiful meal and all for a very good price. Will be staying here next time I'm down in Somerset, quality food, price and location beats any travel lodge in the area for someone looking to explore wells, cheddar, Wookey and the surrounding areas.

I love this hotel. This is the first time me and my wife stayed in the wookey hole hotel and we will return. Rooms are very comfortable. Beds are comfy to. Meals are very nice but breakfasts are a little pricy. But all the same are very nice. Wookey hole caves are just over the road. The city of wells is only 5 mins drive down the road and is also great with plenty to do.

Great two night stay at the Wookey hole hotel, really nice room, great staff, amazing part of the country, well worth a visit, really close to glastenbury village, would come again but didn't rate the food, only negative although there are plenty of places to eat within the vicinity.
