We stayed for one night. The menu looked good but we haven't eaten at the time of writing this review. The reason for the low score is that our room was above the bar /restaurant area. After a five hour drive I wanted to get some rest and relaxation before dinner. No chance of that as the noise was terrible. I'm not looking forward to trying to get some sleep later!

My wife and I have used the Kingston Inn on and off for over 40 years and until now the quality has always been good — excellent, however a recent 30% increase in the cost of the Monday Club 3-course came as a bit of a shock today, especially as this is the fist time since we've been using the pub that we had to actually highlight an issue with one of our meals, which seem to have shrunk and dropped in quality. The schnitzel was extremely greasy and the new potatoes overcooked. I did raise the issue but no one other than the excellent waiter seemed concerned. It's never a good sign when the meals are served almost immediately after one course has finished. I sincerely hope that this is a one-off as we'd hate to lose such a wonderful hostelry, I say concentrate on the quality or else you may find more people questioning their loyalty.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere and helpful staff. I would recommend to everyone. My girlfriend and I came for Valentine's Day and had a great time.

Found us a table for lunch just 10 minutes before the kitchen closed last Monday. Full Monday Club menu was available. Good food and very good service. Highly recommended and will be returning.

The Inn is a beautiful building and is very pretty inside as well. It has a good menu selection, the food was very nice and well priced. The staff are welcoming and friendly.

So long as you book ahead you will love the atmosphere. And the fine dining all you could want from an exellent country Inn. And more.! car parking tight.! but worth the effort. Very popular place!

Me and my partner eat here every so often, and love it every time. We usually have something different and like that fact that the menu changes often enough. All of the meals come out looking absolutely fantastic and taste just as good. Staff are warm and attentive. Only complaint would be that the brownie isn't always on! Best one I've ever had! Prices are slightly higher than average but so is the quality and presentation. Definitely worth the money. Would definitely recommend.

A pleasant village hostelry with good food, be it rather expensive. Good service, atmosphere and a general good feel experience… Would go again.

We had a great evening on Saturday 30 Sept to celebrate my daughter's 60th birthday. The food was was amazing as was the service. This is a "must go to" Inn. Thank you for helping to make this such a special evening. Tricia.

Lovely locations. Didn't not stay the night. Nice food but very high price.

Amazing food. Lovely staff and it has a fabulous playground opposite which made the day, for our children. Perfect XXX.

What a lovely place to stay, everything was first class, food fantastic, staff so pleasant & very well manered, nothing to much trouble. I stay away a lot with work but this is by far the best place I have ever stayed. I will be back!

There's some truly delicious food on offer here. Lamb, scallops and pigeon were all excellent. The menu is limited by whatever good quality ingredients are available but Adam Cain is serious about cooking and about the best local ingredients. The breakfasts were just as good as the dinner. This place manages to remain a local pub while serving very refined food. The rooms are perfectly comfortable but could do with a little extra care and attention and, perhaps, a bit of an update.

After reading all the good reviews and browsing through the delicious menu, we decided to book for the good friday lunch. We were on route from London to Cornwall, and instead of stopping in a disgusting petrol station to eat, we always make a point of stopping at a local pub to eat. What a treat this place was! The food was absolutely superb! I had the cornish hake and, for dessert, the homemade sticky toffee pudding, and both to die for. If we ever pass by the area again, we will be definitely stopping here for another delicious meal. :)

My partner and I have frequented the Kingsdon Inn a handful of times, and have always enjoyed the quality food. Last night they excelled themselves — the set Valentine’s menu was exquisite, topped of with the customary warm welcome and cosy atmosphere. Do yourself a favour and visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Always friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent, very much recommended for a lovely meal inside or outside in the summer.

Nice Inn but the advertised locally sourced food isn't always available. Ordered drinks, sat at table only to be told 10mins later that there was no chicken. No alternative was offered. A sample menu on the website would also be a good move.

Great food. Well recommended. Enjoyed a Sunday walk and came across the Kingsdon Inn. It's more of a restaurant than a pub. Smoke free, which is always a bonus. Simple decor and straight forward Sunday lunch menu. 2 adults and one 10 year old. We were by far the youngest in the pub!. The food was truly delicious and the service top notch… hence I took the time to leave this message. Praise due… Main course £9.95
