Bath Mill Lodge Retreat Resort

Just returned from a 2 night break to celebrate our 25th wedding Anniversary. Cosy lodge which was very clean and had everything needed for a short break. Very peaceful site. Had meal in restaurant which was lovely. Would highly recommend.

Very posh lodges in a quiet and secluded location. Close to bath. A real retreat for hiding away from the world.

The site itself is very beautiful and relaxing but the lodge was absolutely filthy! Dogs had used the curtains/carpet to do their business. Stains/spillages all over walls and floors. Lodge was in desperate need of a deep clean. Raised concerns immediately with Darwin escapes who fobbed us off daily promising the manager would attend site and sort the problem out, this never happened. We were offered the lodge to be cleaned again (but not a deep clean as needed as they didnt have replacement curtains etc) but they could not accommodate us or our belongings whilst this was carried out. We were 4 hours from home with a child who took ill the first night. We were then advised to put complaint in writing to head office which we did and received a very rude response. Not only does the lodge need serious attention but so does the customer service! Would avoid at all costs as once they have your money they are not interested in rectifying problems and try to deflect the blame!

My family stayed in September for a long wkend. We all loved it and cabt wait to go back. Great setting and lovely lodges and staff.

Had an amazing time here! Could of easily stayed longer! Lodges are immaculate and well equipped with everything you could possibly need! The grounds are stunning and so well maintained! Bella our cockapoo was spoiled with treats and a ball too! We all loved our stay! Will definitely be back!

We have just got back from our 3 day stay in lodge 15. It was very comfortable and clean. Friendly staff on check in.
Wire on key fob may need replacing as there is a rough/sharpe piece.
Could I please suggest that maybe ramps could be fitted instead of steps to front door, although there are only a few my husband who is registered disabled struggled. Otherwise all good and we would be happy to return.

Amazing Lodge, spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchen all matching and again everything was spotless. A lovely location with well maintained grounds but still allowing nature and wildlife to embrace the area. We were lucky to see 2 deer from the lounge window as well. Service lovely having dropped in for a sneaky drink whilst out walking. We liked the gate for our lodge which ensured our dog could go outside and be safe. Higly recommend.

Good food quick service clean lovely staff would definitely eat here again.

This place is lovely. Can't comment on staff or restaurant facilities because we didn't use them but we've just spent the weekend here on my sister's hen weekend. The lodges were so spacious and comfortable. Will definitely be coming back as it was excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Walk into Bath wasn’t the best as it goes through residential area but once by river all was good.

Beautiful lodge, cosy for 2, nice and quiet, just what we wanted after a busy christmas.
You really do not need to go anywhere but chill in the Bistro for a nice meal then snuggle up in the lovely cabins. Nice walks and the grounds are kept immaculate. Just a short drive into Bath.
Look forward to our next visit.

I had a great time and the norland cabin was fantastic much bigger then it looks and the bathroom really was lovely.
I went with my puppy for a break away so didn't use the restaurant as I had a tesco order in, the buses run every 10 mins 2 mins walk from Bath spa station and drop you off at the entrance, some people have mentioned the estate as you go through, don't let this be a deterrent I walked my puppy every day if not twice with the local residents and they were very welcoming and looked out for me on walks, even looking for me with some spare tennis balls after my puppy destroyed his last one day before we left.
Im booking again.

This is such a beautiful venue, picturesque, the staff are so friendly & accommodating. The food was lovely. Cannot fault it.

Really wonderful place to stay and very reasonably priced. Our lodge was far more luxurious than I had expected.

Just stayed here for the past week and it was a beautifull place. Massive lodges and very spacious. Only downside really was there playpark on site is not suitable for toddlers we had a 1yr old a 2yr old and a 3yr old and they all struggled to use it could do with a swing or something else for younger kids. Staff were very helpfull food was good but the children sunday roast dinners are way to big almost an adults portion so alot got wasted unfortunately. Would definitely stay again and recommend to my friends.

Fantastic place! Perfect location quiet quality lodge. Well stocked. Pub on site has food and is superb quality and value for money. Darwin lodges throughout the country have all been the same so far! Would highly recommend for kids /animals family’s or romantic breaks … immaculate condition and clean.

Arrived here for a 4 night break. Staying here with our grandson, wife and great grandson who just arrived from Australia. This is our 2nd visit here and it just gets better and better. We have a 3 bedded cabin which is lovely and roomy and was spotlessly clean on arrival. I have already reccomend this resort to friends who stayed a week ago and enjoyed it as much as us. So easy for a trip to Bath on the park n ride @ Newbridge. Will be back again next year.

Just outside the centre of Bath but in country setting with a stream running by it. We arrived a little early and were greeted by friendly, informative staff. We stayed in the smallest Lodge which was more than adequate for a couple. Large patio doors leading to decking and a small table with chairs. Sitting area, small kitchen area, enormous comfy bed and an impressive bathroom. Lots of special touches and very clean. The whole area was kept neat and tidy by what must be an army of gardeners and cleaners. Very quiet and tranquil throughout the park.

I was visiting my friend who was staying there for a few days. The chalets are well equiped and the grounds well maintained. The is a club house for meals if needed, and a fitness room. Very smart site.

Went with my husband and two child. We used the lodge as a base for when we see friends that live locally. It was beautiful accommodation and loved the time we spent in the lodge. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bath was very nice to soke in. We even went for food at the pub the first night and it was very tasty.

Lovely base for short family break. Facilities great, setting attractive and calm. Had a good time.

The menu appearance doesn't do the food justice. Great staff, cracking location, and food to die for. A little on the pricey side, but for us worth every penny! Our new favourite place.

Came here for a holiday. Excellent surroundings, river and countryside. The log cabin was very clean and spacious. Recommended.

Just spent this afternoon at a funeral reception. Perfect in every way — food, service and surroundings. Well done everyone.

Lodges were immaculate and perfect. The pub / restaurant needs some work. The food in the evening — although very good and tasty — took a very long time to be served and we didn't stay during peak times or high season. First round of drinks were forgotten about and needed us to remind them to serve them after waiting for 25 minutes for them. Breakfast was also not at all great. The Bacon was as hard as peanut brittle. We then decided to self cater for the remainder of our stay. If they can sort the kitchen and bar out, then it would have been perfect. 4 stars is for the lodges. Restaurant would have been a 2 star.

Following a beautiful, but sad funeral at Haycombe, we attended here for the wake. An idyllic setting. Tranquil, dragonflies everywhere and a river flowing past. The inside was modern and well maintained. Staff were pleasant and the food was great. Would love to go here again. A fitting farewell and I'm sure we will return to toast sweet memories.

We have just enjoyed a really lovely, relaxing 4 days here and it was perfect.
The lodges are well laid out and immaculately clean, the whole site is maintained to an incredibly high standard and the bar & bistro are very stylish too.
We ate at the bistro on the first night and the food was of a very high standard indeed (prawn rissoto was awesome) Our stay was so nice (and considerably better value than a similar quality hotel suite) that we are now going to check out other Darwin Escape parks for a future stay.

Very nice place. Comfortable well appointed and just the ticket for a relaxing break. I loved being able to hear the brook on the site. Beds were comfy, the lodge was clean, and all around we had a lovely holiday. It's pricier than many other locations, and maybe it's the start of middle age but I think it was worth it!

Came here for Sunday meal with the family. Half of us had to leave as they couldn’t cater for us all. The food took almost 2 hours to come out and once it did the food was vile. Half of us had ate by the time all of our parties food had come out. Wish I’d went with the other half of the family and had a nice meal! Will never come back here.

Had a wonderful 3 night break here at the end of January. Lodge was lovely — comfortable and warm — everything you need. Perfect.

Looks very nice so far. The lodge is big and well equipped, comfy too. It's well furnished. The reception looked great and the bar is nice especially of you arrive early. There is a kids play area and a gym in the reception building. Parking is ample and the site is immaculate.

Beautifully designed lodges, super clean for even a dog friendly lodge! Loved the little extras that were left for us like Luxury hot Chocolate, Tea, Coffee etc it was well needed after our journey down! Also what a brilliant idea to add a doggy box of treats, pooh bags and dog tag in case runs off! The mill Restaurants was delish and well we could of moved in. Highly recommend.

Lovely luxury lodges, quiet peaceful location, good food at the Bistro with decent portion sizes. Quick bus ride into Bath.

What a great place to stay. Really cosy and spacious. Great value too. Would definately recommend.

Extraordinary beauty into nature, next to a beautiful River and in between the trees. The room/cabin was decorated beautifully, big space with a large comfortable bed and the option of shower and bathtub as well! It also had a sofa with a fake cozy fireplace and a TV in the corner with the option of renting movies. A small but convenient kitchen was integrated inside the room. A feature that we really enjoyed is the speakers in the ceiling that you can connect to your phone to listen to your music. Next to the reception there is a lovely restaurant with great options and reasonable prices with a bar as well. At last the staff was extremely polite and helpful! We will definitely come back again soon!

Just spent new yr here and had a wonderful time … Very close to bath which was beautiful used park and ride and all touristy things all walking distance in town centre. Our lodge was luxury we had smallest one roomed lodge but had all needed. Only problem was lights under kickboard in kitchen come on each time open loo door so as I go a few times during nite this kept myself and hubby awake lol… Staff very friendly and approachable. Again small problem with miss information we book table for Sunday lunch and staff told us stopped service at 2so we booked it for 145 rushed back from our day out for this to be told by a different staff member no Sunday roasts on as it new yes eve this didn't go down well as we could have stayed out and enjoyed our day instead of rushing back so a bit of lack of communication between staff. But apart from this would highly recommend this retreat.

Lovely lodge really clean tidy and modern. Nestled in a secluded area with beautiful surroundings. Not much to do on site but in a great location to explore bath and surrounding areas.

Hidden away with a relaxed, comfortable and friendly feel. Food unpretentious and freshly cooked to order. Helpful and attentive staff. Very nice "secret gataway" from the centre of Bath.

This is a lovely place, clean, quiet, well kitted out to a good standard and definitely better than I expected when my wife booked it. I wasn't a huge fan of the food in the restaurant, but that is personal taste rather than it being bad. The staff are absolutely brilliant, can't fault them. I'm sat on the decking of our lodge having a rum now. We've had a big family party and it's been great, an ideal location.

What a surprise gem. Driving along thinking about lunch and Google suggested this place on a search. It's set in a really nice location, tress, babbling brook, outdoor terrace. Lovely. The food was really tasty. We had a meat and cheese board and burger. Great chips and the burger was really good quality. Definitely turn off the road to go here.

Amazing place to stay! Lodges are faultless and like new and absolutely spotless. Very luxurious and if you want to get away and relax in peace and quiet this is definitely the place to go. I cannot recommend Bath Mill Lodge highly enough! The staff are amazing and we'll definitely be going back.

Amazing friendly people allowed dogs on premises but not in restaurant (understandable) was offered blankets when outside and food was amazing.

We have just returned home after a short break at Bath Mill Luxury Lodges. We did not know quite what to expect as this is a fairly new resort. We arrived on the Friday evening with our 2 children aged 9 and 10 years and we all were blown away with the surroundings. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, they advised us of local events taking place whilst on our stay. The first evening we ate in the bar on the resort, the menu was very varied and catered for all tastes, the children menu was also very good and the food was freshly cooked. The lodges are very spacious with everything you need (excluding food), they have even thought of the rainy days and included some traditional board games in each lodge. There are lots of walks and wildlife to see on the resort and had the weather not been quite as wet we would have explored a lot more but due to the weather this means we will have to visit again soon. We would defiantly recommend the resort to anyone with or without children, the resort is perfectly placed for those seeking somewhere quiet or a city break, Bath is just 10 mins away and Bristol is around 30 mins drive.

Ideal spot for your birthday or other celebration. My friends decided to bring us here as a surprise for one friend`s birthday. It was beautiful, relaxing and fun. Great experience!
