Redbrick House Hotel

Was really looking forward to the meal last night as was the wife's birthday. The bar staff amazing fast service and really pleasant. Booked in for a 3 course meal. Starting off garlic mushrooms really nice shortly after the main came out I had beef but I had to send back as was well still blue yes I know people eat it like this. But sadly I can't. They took the meal back I was offered the turkey or salmon but sadly I can't eat these due to having crohns disease so I pass on the main. Pudding came treacle sponge again this was spot on and really nice. After all had eaten came the bill first part of disappointment was that they was still charging me £ 18 just for a starter and desert REALLY. Was told because I had 2 courses I had to pay that. Then when we came to leave the cook came out to talk to some of the people we was with saying there was nothing wrong with the beef that was sent back as it had been cooking for 6 hours. Even though 3 other people at the table when I pointed the meat out to them totally agreed with me. I definitely won't be going back.

Cold beer, good meals and right in Sherwood Forest. Close to Mansfield. A visit to Creswell Grags is a must.

Celebrated my aunties 90th birthday here very good service and food would definitely recommend it.

Lovley place to stay and relax. Very clean lodge. Loads to see and do near by.

Our wedding reception at Red Brick House was wonderful. Thank u to Doreen and her team of waitresses, chef's and bar staff. All of our guests commented how much they enjoyed the beautiful meal they served us. You helped to make our day extra special.

Just got back from Redbrick house and to be honest I don't know where to Stewart. The people were fabulous, the suite we had was brilliant, Doreen, the manageress, went above and beyond, her service was fantastic, she phoned a taxi for us, chased it up when it was late, when it didn't come Alan who was in the bar nipped us to the church, without taking payment. The food was great, the breakfast was great, the lady whose name I didn't catch served us with great confidence. My wife & I are now trying to get to stay in one of the lodges. If you haven't been to Redbrick house, get there soon. Just brilliant.

I and my family have visited the restaurant here two times on our way to the Sherwood Pines Forest Park. The staff were great and very friendly to the children both times, even though the place was very busy the first time and they were one person short the second time. Large enough venue to not feel cramped even with lots of guests. Several vegetarian options.

Loved this place. Stayed at Lakeview Lodge. Spotless and so big. Lovely view great hot tub very private. Celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with friends. Lovely meal at the restaurant. Hope to come back soon.

Had a family celebration, everything was lovely. Food well cooked and staff were very good.

Sunday lunch can't be faulted, it was delicious, piping hot and service with a smile.

Really nice lodges. Stayed for 4 nights over Christmas and it was delightful. The rooms are well kept and furnished nicely. The surrounding grounds are nice to walk around and the staff are very pleasant. The hot tubs were perfect though they had disabled the speakers on them due to noise complaints previously, we did not think this was necessary and were able to play music at a good level which you couldn't even hear at the end of the lodges walkway. Would happily stay again.

Perfect private location for a weekend away! Came here for my wife's 40th birthday and there are well kept grounds, the lodge is stunning, with en suite in every room, the hot tub is a great added bonus and it's not far from sherwood forest!

A fabulous place hidden in plain sight, only a mile out of Mansfield en route to Sherwood Forest. We stayed in an authentic log cabin which could have been miles from anywhere and enjoyed a Sunday lunch in the Redbrick House restaurant — the veggie option, and brie wellington was particularly good. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Had a really nice stay here with family. Lots of room in the Oakridge house. Hot tubs are nice and the restaurant food was also very good. Would come again.

Really nice lodges with good decking area. Reasonably private between the lodges with fences etc. Free Wi-Fi too!

Had a coffee here and a chat, pleasant venue. I did laugh when the ginger cat strolled in and sat down so I guess it must belong to red brick house.

Nice looking building. Very Friendly Reception Staff. Nice bedroom. On the downside — noisy heating pipes during night, hot water circulation poor due to old pipes, TV stations kept freezing in room, Breakfast not the best — cold beans and 1 skinny sausage. I found the Owner/Manager somewhat curt and officious.

My partner and I went for late lunch and despite there being only two tables occupied we had to look around for staff to take our order at the bar. Unfortunately instead of creating a pleasing ambience the subdued lighting made the room extremely gloomy so we chose a table next to the window for extra light and a view (had there been more diners this might not have been an option) When the food arrived — we both opted for a mixed grill — we were pleased with the generous portions (the food served to the ajacent table looked great too) but on closer inspection there was a huge amount of fat on my meat. I had asked for medium rare steak but it was more like medium well and frankly I found all the meat was overcooked and chewy, not helped by the fact we weren't given steak knives. As a minor quibble, if I order a mixed grill I don't expect it to be strewn with herbs in an attempt I suspect to posh it up. This was our first visit to Redbrick House and I thought it was a slightly disappointing dining experience. My partner however enjoyed the meal but his culinary standards veer more towards quantity rather than quality and Redbrick House certainly delivers on that!

Lovely place — visited many times. Did was excellent although service was much slower than usual. Would recommend to anyone wanting excellent home cooked food.

The food was really tasty, it was quite expensive but made to a good standard. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed and the staff were very attentive. Very nice experience.

I attended Red Brick for a wake. The staff were polite and the venue was overall nice to look at, big, warm and we'll maintained.

My experience at Redbrick house went from bad to worse the moment I walked into the building me and my family were ignored at the bar ten minutes later when someone finally took us to our seats we waited for half an hour before a member of staff could drag themselves away from the interesting conversation with the woman that seemed to be charge to take our order. Not only was this a poor attempt at customer service but the fact that the person charge seemed to be more interested gossiping like a child in a playground, making me wonder how this place has any customers at all. When our food arrived and was slung on our table we weren't compensated or even apologised to for the wait or the poor service. When paying for our meal I told a young lady that I was unhappy with my service and wouldn't be returning she shrugged the comment off and went back to what could only be described as the gossiping corner as we were leaving the girl I had complained to was clearly bad mouththing me and my family to the lady in charge, pointing etc this made me and my family extremely uncomfortable and embarresd. Redbrick house dining experience = pathetic.

Me and my friends used to be regulars for lunch every week at Redbrick House. We were guaranteed good service along with excellent food. Sadly those days are gone! For some reason, the place has descended into chaos. The food is poor and the service terrible. We went for our annual Xmas lunch and were kept waiting an hour, after complaining we were told that 'there was a party of 100 in' and we would just have to put up with it. Other customers were also complaining about the wait, cold food etc. We waited another 10 minutes before complaining yet again and were met with abuse from the owner. Needless to say we all left without eating. What a sad end to what was once a truly lovely place to eat.

Rooms are large, modern, clean and of a very high standard. The room (no 7) I had was, in my opinion, to a higher standard than those I have used in some 4 and 5 star hotels. I found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Willing to go that extra mile for you. The food, I chose from the bar menu, was of a very high standard. And plenty of it. Very good value for money. I would highly recommend Redbrick House to both singles and couples, well worth a visit. As an added bonus, for those who like camping or caravaning it also has its own campsite. This also appeared, on my visit, to be of a very high standard.
