Stayed here for the F1 testing when it first opened. Was a fantastic experience.
Four days before I was supposed to stay at the hotel I received a message on my answer machine, which had originated from a mobile phone. The message sounded like it was from someone in a nightclub telling me that my reservation had been cancelled due to technical problems at the hotel. I called the hotel reception to confirm this and was told the same story. I asked for written confirmation that my booking had been cancelled and that my credit card had been refunded. The next day I hadn’t received anything so I emailed the hotel and asked again with no success. I contacted the hotel a third time by phone and was assured that I would be emailed straight away with the cancellation confirmation and refund details only this time I was told that the hotel was closed to staffing problems. The hotel certainly didn’t sound closed in the background. I am still waiting for the written confirmation. Not a good experience at all.
