I've never stayed in one of these so didn't know what to expect but upon arrival staff were very friendly and welcoming. In the morning the breakfast buffet was good and I was even aloud second helpings. I would definitely recommend this if you want to stay somewhere cheap for the night.

It's simple. Friendly. Convenient and cheap.

Just wanted to thank all the staff for being so friendly and helpful, our first stay with YHA and we loved it, the facilities were brilliant our room was very nice the best nights sleep I’ve had extremely comfortable, looking forward to our next visit.

Great place to stay with the children. Very family friendly and lovely helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. The food was very good. I highly recommend the breakfasts!

I’ve used this hostel for many years but in 20+ temperatures the building and the rooms were extremely uncomfortable with the radiators blasting out heat. They were so hot there was a serious risk of burns. God forbid a child touched them. Normally very happy with my stay but the uncontrolled furnace heat was unacceptable. Sad to leave such a poor rating.

Clean and Comfortable Room, clean shared facilities (toilet showers etc) nice lounge, games room, and dining room. A short walk to the town shops and Beach. Will be staying here again!

VERY noisy. Kinda shabby too. Doors creak, floors creak, every noise on every floor carries. It's like a backpackers hostel. Pros — if you're on a stag it's cheap. Staff are as good as always. Cons — sleep is unlikely. Heating high and not adjustable. I'm a big fan of YHA and stay regularly but this isn't a good one.

I have stayed in better YHA places but it was good enough. I will never understand having the radiators in corridors on at full blast at this time of year though. The breakfast was chaotic, when things ran out like coffee scrambled egg etc, the staff just stood there grinning and offering you the other things. You had to ask explicitly and repeatedly ask for replenishments. It wasn't worth the cost so on our last day we decided to go elsewhere for food.

Nice place to stay pleasant staff quiet off road parking a few minutes walk from town.

Nice Youth Hostel in a good location. Clos et the sea. Breakfast was good and the bedroom comfy.

Very friendly staff, clean rooms… it was freezing outside when we went but the room was very warm. Good bean to cup coffee from reception.

I was part of a party that had the whole hostel rated for the weekend so I can't comment on the service as we were self catering and there were no staff about. The accommodation was fine beds and rooms were clean and tidy. Beds were slightly hard for my preference and we couldn't adjust the heating due to broken knob on the radiator. Also the option of an extra pillow would have been nice. Kitchen was clean with plenty of crockery and equipment. Cooker were a bit slow to heat but did the job eventually. Dining room, long and quiet room were great. Plenty of books available with a large library of nature books. Games room was disappointing with only a three ball table football game and a pool table with topless cues available. No computer or quiz machine as shown on pictures on website. Location is perfect. Large car park, 3 min walk to large Tesco, 5 min walk to train station, and 10 minute walk to beach. It's only the 2nd YH I've stayed in so I dont have a lot to compare it to but seems a good place to stay.

Lovely hostel. Good food, coffee and cake for just 3.50, friendly staff, good Wi-Fi. Visited in early December and seemed like there were many families staying and the kids loved it.

A fantastic base for a holiday. I have never stayed in a youth hostel before and was pleasantly surprised. Very clean, good facilities and really helpful staff. Will stay there again for sure.

Great place. Fantastic staff. My kids loved it. Only let down was room carpet not very clean.

Great location. Ten minutes walk from beach. Five-minutes from town centre. Lovely staff, very welcoming and helpful. Self-catering kitchen and dining area spot on, although whilst we were there (late July) it was busy.

Extremely comfortable and well placed YHA. We stayed in a family room with two bunk beds, one with a double mattress on the bottom bunk. We didn't have a catered breakfast but used the self catering facilities which had everything you could want. Budget price but comfortable, 2 minutes from a large supermarket and 1p minutes from the main high street/steam train/beach.

Great hostel, great location and great breakfast, thoroughly recommend it.

Stayed one night in half term in family room. Room very clean but could do with a link of paint in places. Staff very friendly; nice lounge area. Breakfast very good and value for money. Overall very pleased and will be returning.

Lovely and clean and warm. This is our third year of exclusive use for our annual event. So close to the town and just a 10 minute walk to the museum. The staff cannot do enough for us, they are so welcoming, friendly and happy. … I've never ever stayed in a youth hostel before, this is now my third year staying at sheringham. Thank you so much!

Great food and nice to have a to room! The food was great and was nice but tea can be like for vegetarians. However the room I was in was small, (yes I did get told this) old even though we had paint on there which made the room modern there where parts that showed it was old. I was too big for the beds. There are 2 parts the new and old, I was in the old!

Very fun to go with school friends and to enjoy time with them good shops and get a good taste of local life.

Great hostel with fantastic and helpful staff. Could do with a little updating but great nonetheless. Ideally located on a quiet street and only a 10-15 minute walk from the beach. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Firstly, as with all good youth hostels, this place is fun to explore with a weird layout to the building. The building is quite weird and is pretty much several bits of building joined together, all different ages and different architectures. My room was in part of the building which seemed to be an old church, SPOOKY! Inside the building you do not notice this, but outside you can see that the joining room is a church or something. A very random building which typical of a youth hostel. The main problem with this place is that it is not clean enough, even for youth hostel standards. Also the music they play in the dining room is crap half harted cover versions of songs in the charts, probably a free CD they got from a band playing in a pub.

The room was small, not very clean, with codwebs and holes in the walls. The overall look and feel to the place was shabby. The meal supplied was cold, and under cooked. Wi-Fi access wasn`t free and the whole place needs improvement. All this was after a school trip by my daughter.

Brilliant helpful staff, great location. Very comfortable.

Excellent hostel, a great base from which to explore the beautiful coast line here.
